What to do on the weekend?

You still don’t know what to do on the weekend? Then let’s give you some ideas.

This weekend a lot of cool events are happening in and around Vancouver and there is something for everyone. For all those of you that want to be active and do some sport, I have the perfect event for you.

At Kitsilano Beach there is the KitsFest. It takes place all weekend long and ranges from playing basketball, volleyball, tennis to a lot of other activities, like sunset yoga. Sound’s pretty fantastic to me! The downside of it is, that for some activities you have to pay admission, but maybe it is still worth checking it out.

The Festival starts at 9AM and ends when the sun is going down .beach

I personally would love to go to the next event that I want to share with you, but it takes a little road trip to get there. It is the Abbotsford Airshow this weekend, which is one of the biggest airshows in Canada. I think looking at all the vintage planes and military aircrafts is super interesting, if you think the same make sure to go there!

I know some of you live here on a pretty tight budget and there are also some options for you. This weekend there are a lot of free music events happening in Vancouver, for example free live music in North Vancouver or Mission Twilight Concerts at Fraser River Heritage Park at 7PM. Having a relaxed evening listening to live music with your friends is always a great way to spend the weekend.

But now let’s come to a really great event hosted by INTERNeX. If you don’t have plans for your Sunday, make sure to join us for a game of Disc Golf at Elizabeth Park. It is a really cool group activity with a huge fun factor.

Is there a better way to spend the weekend than with friends? I don’t know. 62551251_2245194065792281_6647863583201820672_n

Whatever you decide to do make sure to enjoy your weekend! See you soon (hopefully on Sunday 😉)!

What to do on the weekend

It is finally Friday and it only takes a few more hours till we finally can enjoy the weekend. If you don’t have any plans for the weekend yet, then check out this blogpost for some inspiration!

36466811465_3540120658_oOn Sunday the INTERNeX gang is going to explore Stanley Park by bike. By doing this, we can cover more ground, which means that we will be able to see more of Stanley Park. Besides that you will finally experience Vancouver in the most Dutch way!

If you rather do sports, then the KitsFest is the place to be! This is a 3 day sports festival taking place in Kitsilano. You can do yoga, volleyball, water polo, basketball and many other sports. Besides that there is also a DJ playing music throughout the day. The festival starts today and will take place till Sunday.

You can also watch the great baseball team of Vancouver, the Vancouver Canadians. They will have a match against Everett Aquasox at the Nat Bailey Stadium. If you are not able to get a ticket anymore, then you can also watch the game in one of the sports bars in Vancouver.

This weekend is the opening weekend of PNE. The whole weekend you are able to get in for only $1.50 if you wear red or a Canadian maple leaf and arrive between 11 AM and 1 PM. Normally PNE is pretty expensive, so by going this weekend you will save quite some money. There are also shows, vendor markets and live music, so it is definitely worth checking out!

I hope to see you all at the Stanley Park bike ride!

What to do on the weekend

Another weekend’s coming up, and if you didn’t had the chance to join us for our great trip to the rockies and still want to do something fun this weekend, here are a few ideas:

KitsFest

KitsFest is a sports and healthy living community festival. It takes places from fri – sun and its for everybody. You can either go there and register a team for basketball, volleyball etc., experience some great yoga classes or just watch and cheer for the teams of the tournaments.

Squamish Festival

Even though this whole weekend festival is located in Squamish, you don’t have to worry about how to get there. There will be a shuttle bus driving you from Vancouver to and from the Squamish Festival. The tickets for this event are kind of expensive, a day pass if $149 (+fees) and a weekend pass 325 (+fees) but there are acts like Eminem, Bruno Mars, Nas, Arctic Monkey and many many more. So check out their line-up and maybe you’ll decide it will be worth spending this money.

Vancouvers Largest Waterfight

On saturday Stanley park will host the 8th annual waterfight at 1.00pm at Lumberman’s Arch. Bring waterbaloons or a water gun and be part of the largest watertight of Vancouver.

Food Cart Fest

This festival takes places every week and this week on sunday there will again be more than 20 food trucks you can get some great food from. It’s only $2 entry and even for free if you bring a donation for the food bank. This week the Food Cart Festival will also be on saturday for the first time. On saturday you can find it at the Holland Park in Surrey and on sunday at the Olympic Village in Vancouver.

We hope you guys all have fun on you weekend and a great start in the new week!
