What to do on the Weekend?

The feeding has come to an end, or with other word, the holidays are eventually over.
I hope everyone had a fabulous start into 2020. If you had any New Years Resolutions, I am very sorry it didn’t work out. If you still have them, good luck ;-).

Anyways, the first weekend of the year is coming up and I’d say let’s make the best out of it to set the year right from the very beginning!
This Saturday our INTERNeX family (we celebrated Christmas together, I’d say we are a family now :D), is going to Stanley Park! And not just anywhere but to the very well-known Brewery. And just as you do in a Brewery, we are gonna have a little Beer tasting there. And even if you are not 19 yet, you are more than welcome to join and watch us drinking beer. No I am joking, of course there are going to be non-tipsy making alternatives for you :). 81590461_10157832441207103_8936653467716419584_n.jpg
If you decide on joining, you want to be quick on clicking on going on Facebook, as we only have two seats left.
Besides that, here are some more inspirations for the upcoming weekend:
If you are planning on going for a wild night on Saturday, you might want to consider the MIA nightclub. They will be hosting the ‘Rave for Cancer’, which means fundraising for the Young Adult Cancer Society. I think this is a very cool and important thing and should remind us on how lucky we are ourselves! The only problems our peers should be facing is stuff like the previous breakup, the unwanted twinning with that girl in the club (crashing, I know) or the failed uni-exam. Okay well, my examples might be not the best here, but what I am trying to say it – be grateful guys and go and support the ones who aren’t as lucky!

If you just want to do something less active and more laid back on Sunday, the IndieFlicks Film Festival might be just what you’ve been looking for. There will be deep, meaningful .. (list continuous..) short film from all around the world.
So get out there and have a beautiful weekend!

Cheers,

— Nadja xx

Year Review – Part 2

Welcome back.
I hope you had a fantatstic Christmas and so much food, that you aren’t able to walk anymore. Since you can’t move anyways, I guess there is enough time to read the Year Review Part 2!
Our journey reaches spring, so please just picture the warming sunlight on your skin (in case you haven’t forgotten about it already ;)).

April started off with a very lovely event here at the INTERNeX office. And it was so nice, having everyone around in such a familiar atmosphere. We had a Game Night, getting all the dust off all these games stored in our cupboards. As you would have guesses, not everyone is having the same understandings of how certain rules of games work. So it ended up in many discussions and laughter’s. As you might know it from game nights with friends or family – it either brings you closer together or tears you apart forever. GameNight.jpgOkay maybe, I am slightly exaggerating with this one – but you know what I mean. Anyways, this was the perfect shot to get to know each other in a different way, than in any other possible occasion, at least we know now who the bad winners and loosers are 😉 (https://internexcanada.wordpress.com/2019/04/09/how-wasyour-weekend-94/).

Inspired from all these games in the past week, he INTERNeXer decided to go and play a slightly bigger game in the week after. And before you might get a wrong impression – Yes, I am talking about anEscapeRoom.jpg Escape Room Game. As everyone got the chance to into a different character and solve problems for everyone’s sake, once again, the group grew together as a real team. And especially activities as such, point how good a group of people needs to function together, so that they’ll find their way out!

And finally we got to welcome a new member to the PR-Team. megan-03.jpgMegan from Germany joined the group and did an awesome job providing a great time for everyone (https://internexcanada.wordpress.com/2019/04/16/newest-member-of-the-internex-team/).

Right away she and a lot of candidates got the great opportunity to take part in one of our best trips throughout the year, the one highlight everyone seems to talk about forever – The trip to the Rockies!

No other trip is to be compared to this one. Rockies3.jpgI don’t know if it’s about the amazing views you get to share, or the joined campfires including the delicious smores or just the overwhelming spirit of the Rocky Mountains, but the group always comes back different, much closer than they were before (https://internexcanada.wordpress.com/2019/04/23/the-rockies-review-part-1/).

The group of INTERNeXer at this point seemed to be a very active bunch of people anyways. The upcoming weekend events and their participation showed, how much energy our INTERNeX family has. LighhousePark1.jpgThe hike in Lighthouse Park was another highlight, just giving the candidates a great inside about the beauty of the country we all decided on living in (https://internexcanada.wordpress.com/2019/04/26/what-to-do-on-the-weekend-159/).

And since there was a lot of energy left, the INTERNeXer went to the Trampoline Park on the following weekend. And whoever has got energy left after this, just didn’t do it right. And there was truly something to do for everyone, since this is one of the biggest Trampoline Parks around (https://internexcanada.wordpress.com/2019/05/03/what-to-do-on-the-weekend-160/)!

And the following weekend also involved sports, but for a change you didn’t have to participate yourself. We got the great opportunity to watch the White Caps against the Portland Timbers. Especially the European soccer hearts started to beat a lot faster by thinking of this event! Even though we all know what soccer is all about, this was something absolutely different! Soccer2.jpgNot only the whole vibe in the arena, but the entertainment and cheering happening during and in between the game was an experience of a lifetime (https://internexcanada.wordpress.com/2019/05/13/how-was-your-weekend-98/).

Motivated by the energy of the game, we got out getting active once again. During a bike tour through the famous Stanley Park, everybody got to see beautiful sides of the city of our choice, Vancouver. The beauty of all the pictures taken is one StanleyPark1.jpgthing, but  Megan even managed to use the right words to describe this wonderful experience (https://internexcanada.wordpress.com/2019/05/21/how-was-your-weekend-99/). After all – definitely a must do when visiting Vancouver.

And since Canada is just offering so much, the INTERNeXer just had to go out there again and explore nature. This time a very special trip to Joffre Lakes, including the Shannon Falls, was happening. I feel like I could never sum up the experiences that were made and views everyone got to catch, while visiting this stunning place.JoffreeLake1.jpg So just make sure to give the post a look, since there are also pictures included so you will get the chance to see it yourself (https://internexcanada.wordpress.com/2019/05/27/how-was-your-weekend-100/).

Another must see in Vancouver is definitely the hike up Grouse Mountain. And so it just happened to be another highlight of this year. Pictures may say more, than the words could, so just take a look at what Vancouver actually has to offer (https://internexcanada.wordpress.com/2019/06/03/how-was-your-weekend-101/)!

After that we didn’t only welcome one new Pr-Coordinator and not two either but three!

Karina Karina.jpg(https://internexcanada.wordpress.com/2019/06/06/one-of-the-three-new-members-of-internex/) completed the PR-Team for the next few weeks. And as these three were an amazing team, we got amazing stuff to see and to do. Big thanks to you girls!

The last weekend of June was perfect to start a trip to Whistler for the INTERNeXer to join. Whistler4.jpgWhistler has just given the perfect chance to escape the big city life for a while. The INTERNeX crew got to do zip-lining, some biking, a beautiful gondola ride and obviously some nice pub crawls in the evening. What a great chance to get to know Canada a bit better (https://internexcanada.wordpress.com/2019/06/17/how-was-your-weekend-103/).

In the upcoming days, we’ll be moving on to July, August and September. I hope to see you. If you want to see more pictures and a lovely video summarizing all of this. Check out our Instagram profile (internexcanada)!
Till than,

Cheers,

INTERNeX News – Black Friday!

ix-news-logo.pngThe most popular shopping day is just ahead of us – The one and only Black Friday!
And because we want you to be prepared for this, here are some information about the Black Friday itself and a few useful tips you might want to consider before getting yourself into this crazy shopping day!
Black Friday is always the day after the U.S. Thanksgiving, which happens to be the last Thursday in November. It is officially known as the official start of the Christmas season. And because of this, this day has always been very important for sales, even if it wasn’t referred to as ‘Black Friday’ in the first place.
In fact, the day goes all the way back to 24 September in 1869. Two U.S. financiers tried to be so smart and bought a significant amount of U.S. gold, obviously hoping for an overall price soaring, so that they’d be able to sell it again for huge profit. Well long story short, this plan didn’t work out as you might guess. Eventually the U.S. gold market crashed and their actions left the the Wall Street Barons bankrupt. From there the U.S. was set into a really bad financial crisis.
The name ‘Black Friday’ actually came from the way American shops recorded their accounting details, as they’d note profits in black and losses in red. Over this hard time most shops only got to write red number, only after the day of thanksgiving they finally ‘went into black’ again.
If you are currently getting ready to take part in this very crazy shopping experience, here are a few things you might want to consider.
When does it make sense to wait until black Friday itself and when should one of the current deals be taken. Obviously this is always a question of how lucky you’ll be on the day, but if it is a very specific product you are waiting for, in a specific colour or size, you may want to consider buying it before the time. I don’t want to disappoint you in this, but the chances are high that you aren’t the only person waiting for a deal on this product. If you are just waiting for the highest possible discount, you may want to wait until Black Friday.
Before you get yourself out there, getting lost in all the discount signs, you should do some research. Check out RedFlagDeals and RetailMeNot for some brilliant deals, coupons and special offers first. blackfriday.png
Even tho all of  these offers, just seem too good to be true, please don’t forget that we are living in a time of climate change and an absolute consumption overload. And you buying unnecessary stuff  like crazy, is a part of this very big game, even tho if it seems to be just you!
Just think about where these product are coming from, that they need to be produced, and packed and that there is a whole chain reaction after this. I don’t want to be the Party-Pooper in this, but I guess especially our generation has a very good understanding of this and should proof this in actions!
Not to doubt, this is the perfect time to make some great deals, but try not to loose your head over this.
And make sure you’ve got some money left since next PuB-Night isn’t too far away and you still want to be able to pay for your drinks right?
Till then, Happy Shopping you all!
Cheers,

PuB-Night Review

And it’s over again – my favorite day of all weekdays.
This week we went to the Moose’s Down Under and again it was great to see that so many people joined us last night! Thanks for that!IMG_4755.JPG
Besides that, we actually got a lot to celebrate last night. Starting off with our newest arrival Simon, being introduced to our group. Since we are a super friendly and easy-going group, he became part of the group very quickly!
Furthermore we actually got a birthday to celebrate and one to “belate-celebrate”. (I don’t know if that is an actual thing … I guess now it is!)
So Happy Birthday once again to Sarah and Laura!
After a few drinks and some really nice food, we went on to the next location. There was no need of discussing which place it will be and I am pretty sure you know already. So just a bus drive later we found ourselves in The Yale Saloon once again.
As they had Jager Bombs on special and since we are always appreciating ways to safe some money, we didn’t loose much time make use of this offer. And after this it seemed like the right thing to do, to sign up for the Bull-riding competition …. Just in case you want to see some more pictures and videos than I will provide up here, check out our Instagram story! After all, we were the lucky winners of a $50 gift card for drinks. Truly the best price to win! 8e2b481b-97bb-40f9-bad9-b38ea8618d44.JPG
The Jager Bombs we got out of this, even gave me enough confidence to try out Line-Dancing. And thanks to the very patient teachers, it kinda looked like some real Line Dance after all!
Thank you guys, I really enjoyed it.
I am already looking forward to next week!
Next PuB-Night will be at the Beaver, 7pm.
See you there!
Cheers,

What to do on the Weekend

As this weekend the weather might not be as nice as in the past weekends, you might want to consider doing some indoor activities for once.
Olympia.jpg
On Sunday it’s time to go out with the INTERNeX crew once again! And this week, we’ll visit a place, representing one of the most outstanding events in Canada in the last years. The Olympic games in 2010.
Especially here in British Columbia people are very proud of hosting this special occasion and since we are living here it might be very interesting to gather some knowledge about it. Or do you already know who Miga, Quaschi and Sumi are?! No? Let me help you out here. Those are the three mascots of the 2010 games, everyone representing a special animal living in BC and therefore giving attention to those very special species.
And just besides those general facts, I am pretty sure most of you haven’t taken part in any olympic games so far, no offence! So this is the best part about this weekends event! The Olympic Experience provides simulators of different sports, where you can actually try out how it feels to do Ski-jumping or even bobsleigh races and many more! Make sure to get your ticket before the time. The Link for the tickets is to be found in the regarding Facebook event. If you don’t have Facebook, feel free to reach out to us!
Obviously there will be enough stuff to do on the rest of the weekend as well!
If you want to be very spontaneous you might still join Justin Timberlake concert today at the Rogers Arena. Tickets are still on sale and available for about $50.
For those of you, who already want to start their Christmas Shopping, might want to take a look at the Christmas Craft Fair happening on Saturday, November 16. Taking place at the South Arm Community Centre in Richmond. Especially since the INTERNeX Christmas Party is coming up, including a secret Santa, this might be a good shot to get your present sorted out already.
I hope you are having a great weekend and see you on Sunday!
Cheers,
