What to do on the weekend?

TGIF…. TGIF…. Yes people it is Friday, which means that the weekend is just right around the corner. That means we will give you some new tips on what to do during your weekend.

This whole weekend the Vancouver Fringe Festival will take place. This is a festival with dozens of exceptional alternative theatre shows. The festival takes place on Granville Island and other theatre venues. On Friday there is a band playing called Mazacote at the Big Rock Brewery Fringe Bar at 9 pm.

18876089399_3d63a1829d_zOn Saturday we want to take you to the multicultural Richmond Night Market from 7 pm until 12 am. If you want to do something more inspirational during the day you can go to the TEDxEastVan which is a mini version of TED featuring local inspirational speakers. It’s taking place in the York Theatre.

And on the last day of the weekend there is the Whistler Village Beer Festival which is a major craft beer festival in the Olympic Plaza from noon until 5 pm. There are also all kind of farmers markets going on like the Sunday Farmers Market in Kitsilano, White Rock, Mt. Pleasant and some other places.

What to do on the weekend?

Another weekend is coming up, may be you are lucky and it is a long weekend for you because of the Canada Day? As always it is time to list up all the fun things what you can do in Vancouver on this weekend.

Sunset Beach Social

The Sunset Beach Social will be on June 27, July 11 and August 15, starting at 5 pm till sundown at Sunset Beach. You can enjoy on the Sunset Beach while you can also explore some food trucks, art, music or the outdoor roller disco. Even the sand castle competition where you can win prizes up to $500 is one of the highlights. You need more good arguments for the Sunset Beach Social? It is for free – no entrance fee!

Vancouver International Busker Fest

On June 28 and 29 on Granville Street between Smithe and Pender Street. It is bringing people together from all walks of life, with interactive comedy, hypnotic music and mind-blowing stunts. Prepare to laugh and cheer, forget about your worries and just enjoy the show. (more info)

Markets

International Summer Night Market – for just $2 you get the chance to explore tons of food, cheap booths and a lot of other stuff. It’s really a interesting experience to explore the International Summer Night Market which is located at 12631 Vulcan Way (Richmond). Opening times are on Friday and Saturday between 7 pm and 12 am and on Sunday 7 pm to 11 pm.

Richmond Night Market – it is the traditional night market in Richmond. Located at 8351 River Road (Richmond) with 300 vendors and tons of food, the entrance is just $2. The opening times of the Richmond Night Market are Friday and Saturday 7 pm to 12 pm and on Sunday from 7 pm to 11 pm.

North Vancouver Night Market – The Night Market on North Vancouver is just on Friday night between 5 pm and 10 pm. Over 80 vendors, 30 food trucks, music, artisans and a beer garden at the Shipyards in Lower Lonsdale for free!

It’s already weekend again and Vancouver has, as always, great events planned for you, such as the Winter Farmer’s Market, Baker’s Dozen, Vancouver International Dance Festival and the Canadian Film Fest in Toronto.

Winter Farmer’s Market

The Winter Farmer’s Market is held every Saturday from 10am to 2pm at Baily Stadium. You can find there fresh produce, locally growned veggies and fruits, seafood and other awesome delicious delights can be found at the Farmer’s Market.

                                                                                                                      

Baker’s Dozen


Baker’s Dozen is the newest baked good market here in town. It’s every Sunday in March. At the Maker’s Market are 13 local bakers with their tasty goods. The Baker’s Dozen market is from 11am till 3pm. Vancouver International Dance Festival


The 2014 Vancouver International Dance Festival is from March 7 to 29th. The Festival presents an extraordinary roster of dance artists and creators such as Israel Galvan, Dancers Dancing, Kokoro, and more. They have also free and paid events and they performed in venues across the city. This weekend it’s time for Isarel Galvan and he will dance at the Vancouver Playhouse.

                                                                                                                       

Toronto

The Canadian Film Fest celebrates Canadian cinema by with short films, features and workshops from Canadian filmmakers and artists. The Canadian Film Fest is from the 20th till the 22nd of March. It will host in the Royal Cinema and it will cost $12.50. This year’s fest includes Toronto and Canadian premieres, with six feature films and 14 short films.
