INTERNeX Canada: News / Fun Facts

In 2 weeks INTERNeX Goes Rockies 2012!! For those who have already signed up; you’re in for one of the most unforgettable Easter weekends you will ever have and for those who haven’t signed up yet please make sure you don’t miss out!!

This week I will tell you more about the three places where we will be staying during our Rockies tour; Valemont, Banff and Golden.

VALEMOUNT

On Friday 6th we will arrive in Valemont. Valemont is in BC and is situated in a valley between the Rocky Mountains, Monashee Mountains and Cariboo Mountains.

Valemount is home to the highest peak of the Rockies; Mount Robson at 3,954m. A lot of wildlife can be seen in the mountainous  areas of Valemount such as; elk, moose, mountain goats, grizzly bears, black bears, mule, caribou, beaver, muskrat and much more.

BANFF

On our second day we will be going to the highest town (at 1, 383 m) in the whole of Canada; Banff. This beautiful national park of Alberta is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a United Nations designation which helps protect a very large part of the Canadian Rocky Mountains.

There are quite a few activities you can do in Banff, such as: skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, hiking, gondola rides, dog sledding and much much more!

GOLDEN

Our last night will be spent in Golden, BC. This beautiful part of Canada is surrounded by the Glacier National Park and Yoho National Park and is known as ‘Kicking Horse Country’.

Golden has quite a few impressing attractions that you need to see while we are there. It is home to the longest covered pedestrian bridge in all of Canada. You can even take a gondola ride to see the unbelievable views of the valley and mountain vistas.

For information about this amazing Rockies Trip read our “INTERNeX Goes Rockies 2012” Details blog post and join the event on Facebook.

The time of your life!

Remember your first day in Canada?

You are a stranger. Totally unfamiliar with the environment and without any friends yet. You don’t know where to go and what places to visit. How can you connect with other people? Who would go on a trip to the Rockies with you? How can you organize it? You feel lost! No worries…

INTERNeX can help you out! With organizing regular trips to destinations all over Western Canada including the Rocky Mountains, we will make sure you will have an unforgettable time with great people!

In the past we went to Whistler for some snowboarding action and hot tub chilling. Then there was the trip to the Rocky Mountains for 4 days, where we experienced the natural beauty of this world-famous landscape! Both of them were great trips and left memorable experiences behind.

For the small budget we do day tours for example to Mt. Seymour in North Vancouver where we had some great fun while doing some snow tubing!

Not to forget the incredible White Water Rafting trip to Chiliwack that took place only a week ago. The combination with an adventurous night of camping, roasting marsh mallows over the campfire and singing old-school songs just made the time stand still. And everybody got home pretty exhausted after an insane rafting day on the Chiliwack river!

As you can see, you will not get bored with us! We give you the chance to experience Canada and meet new people from all over the world!

INTERNeX works together with the travel agencies West Trek and Moose in order to get the best deals for you! If you decide not to go on a trip with INTERNeX, simply because there is none scheduled or because you are an independent traveler, we provide you with all the necessary information to plan your own trip. We have plenty of Moose flyers and a survival guide which shows you all the places you should go, if you go on your own. And the best: If you book your trip at the Moose office and bring an INTERNeX business card, you will get a 5% discount on your trip!

Sounds good? Sounds good!! 🙂

PuB NiGHT Review – GO CANUCKS GO!!

Hi all!

Last night we had our special INTERNeX PuB NiGHT again together with Moose and SWAP. We all gathered at the Bourbon to watch the Canucks game that started at 6 pm. Even though everyone was very tired from the awesome trip to the Rockies last weekend, a lot of you still came to the PuB NiGHT! The game started very early so we all ordered pizza and of course drunk a couple of beers.

The game was a really exciting, because in the last 30 seconds the Canucks scored a goal that made it 2-2. Finally in the second overtime the Canucks won the game! Of course everyone went crazy, because this means that the Vancouver Canucks are now headed to the Stanley Cup Final! We can’t wait to see the next game. Go Canucks Go!! We hope you had a great time last night and you also had the chance to meet our new intern Elke!

We are sorry to announce that next Wednesday there will be no PuB NiGHT due to our INTERNeX Networking Reception that will take place on the 1st of June. We would love to see you again on the Wednesday after that! 😀

Cheers,

Your PR-team

Special PuB NiGHT – Review

Yesterday we had a special PuB NiGHT going on at the Bourbon on Cordova St. Together with some of our INTERNeX partners we arranged this special event for you! The night started at 9pm when some of our INTERNeX candidates entered the pub. The theme of the party was ‘Been Around The World’ so a lot of people where dressed as their own country. To give you a good example, our candidate Flo from Austria was wearing his ‘lederhosen’ to the event, which was absolutely awesome!

Moose Travel was hosting some fun games during the evening. Some of our candidates wanted to play, so they were divided into teams. In the first round the teams had to crowd surf one of their team members, who had to drink beer with a straw afterwords. The second game was quarter bounce, where the players had to bounce several quarters into a cup. In the last round there was a real battle between the teams. Every team had to pick one team member to battle against the other team. Those persons were blindfolded and were wearing a helmet with an empty can on top of it. In the battle the players had to try to hit the can off the helmet of the other team player! Of course there were prizes to win last night, and team Jet Wild was the winner of the evening! They won Moose Whistler tours, tickets to the Giants playoff game and t-shirts!

The games were a lot of fun to watch and everyone was enjoying themselves. We had no cover, no line up and drink specials the whole evening, so basically we had a GREAT evening! Thanks for coming everyone. Check out the pictures from last night at our Flickr Page. Hope to see everyone next Wednesday!

Cheers,

Tonight is PuBNiGHT!

PuBNiGHT!

Yah it’s Wednesday again – and you know what that means! It’s time for the weekly INTERNeX and Global Work and Travel PuBNiGHT! Last week we had a big, crazy bunch of people attending, let’s see if we can top that this week. So bring all your friends and come to the Blarney Stone. If you are new in town or never been to the PuBNiGHT before, what better thing is there to do on a Wednesday night then to go out and get to know some new friends over a beer.  We promise you will have a good time, and some laughs 😉

Tonight is going to be an extra special night: West Trek and Moose are coming to the PuBNiGHT and are giving away some awesome prizes. Last week West Trek gave away a trip to Whistler, so who knows what they will give away this time. It will be Moose’s first time to our PuBNiGHT, and we’re looking forward to having them both there with us!

As some of you might know INTERNeX is partnering up with Global Work and Travel at the PuBNiGHTS. Global Work and Travel Co. is company that helps Australians come to Canada to work and have fun. Last week we had some of their Staff coming out and tonight hopefully we will have some of their travelers coming out too, so Anna (our only Australian these days) may not be the only Aussie there!

This week we sadly have a few people leaving Canada to go back to Germany, but luckily we also have a few new people coming out. We will do our best to make everyone feel welcome and make sure that everyone has a great time!

We will be at the Blarney Stone at 8.30 pm. See you there!
