Most people associate WHISTLER with skiing and snow. But did you know that Whistler originally became famous as a summer resort?

The story goes that the couple Alex and Myrtle Phillip heard about the beauty of the region and purchased land around what is Whistler today. The village developed and the beautiful lakes attracted first tourists who mostly entertained themselves with fishing. By the 1920s, Rainbow Lodge was one of the most popular summer destinations west of the Rocky Mountains.

Today, as Whistler is a well-known ski resort, the summer months bear even more activities. In fact, there is so much going on that Whistler is regularly rated as the world’s best year-round destinations. Take a look at these facts and you’ll know why:

INTERNeX Canada: WHISTLER Trip Announcement

Whistler – one of the most famous and beautiful places in Canada!
Want to see spectacular landscapes? Want to feel the Olympic spirit? Then join our incredible June trip!

We will start out on Friday evening and take the Greyhound bus to arrive in Whistler just in time for dinner and some drinks in the city. We will stay in the brand new HI Hostel Whistler with an on-site café and game room with free pool. Our weekend will be packed with adventures: We can go ZIP LINING in incredible heights, HIKING in Whistler’s scenic mountains, or rent paddle BOATS or KAYAKS on Lake Alta to enjoy the beautiful views! A BBQ DINNER on Saturday will make sure that you are relaxed and your stomach filled for the Saturday night PARTY in the après-ski party city of Whistler! After this action-packed weekend we will head back to Vancouver on Sunday afternoon around 5pm.

Karaoke PuB NiGHT – Wednesday, May 23rd
The next PuB NiGHT on Wednesday will be spectacular! We organized a karaoke night for you. Since this is my last pub night, I was able to pick where to go. Karaoke is always fun and that’s why my choice fell on a karaoke bar. I’m looking forward to your song choices and I’m sure with your help this PuB NiGHT will be a terrific last one for me. Mark the date! Details about location and exact time you will get in the announcement on Tuesday. 😉

Stanley Park Bike Tour – Sunday, May 27th
Get ready for our big bike ride at Stanley Park next weekend. Grab your bike or borrow one and let`s go! Stanley Park is a beautiful place and inviting with its well-established routes for cycling. The best way through the Stanley Park is by bicycle! Check facebook for details and to sign up. This will be a special experience!
