It’s summer, it’s weekend –  it’s beach and festival time! Attend one of the FREE festivals on Saturday and join INTERNeX for a relaxing Sunday on the beach!

INTERNeX Beach Day
This Sunday we will be heading out to the beach! Come join us for a day full of relaxing, swimming, and beach volleyball! We hope to see all of you there! For details and updates please check our facebook event and attend!
Disclaimer: This is a nude beach so please use your own judgment to as whether or not you are comfortable going. People will be both clothed and not clothed depending on their comfort zone, just a forewarning.

Where: Wreck Beach, Kitsilano (Meet at the McDonald’s by UBC. We will walk the couple of blocks from there… and then down all of the stairs)

Vancouver International Busker Festival
See Vancouver’s downtown come alive with street performances, musicians, jugglers, acrobats… Among international, Canadian and local talents are names like Chalkmaster Dave, LOL Brothers or

Vancouver Folk Music Festival

It’s the 35th Vancouver Folk Music Festival! The Folk Fest attracts both young and old and offers a mix of performers and amazing live music. The festival line up includes talents suc as Dan Mangan, Ani DiFranco, Lucinda Williams, Hey Rosetta! and K’naan. 30 local vendors serve a similar impressive variety: everything from organic ice cream to roast corn and jerk chicken. TORONTO

Unity Festival 2012
Experience a four day celebration of the voices of youth and their artistic talents. The event features Canada’s top breakdancers, beatboxers, spokenword artists and much more across the city of Toronto! Festival of India
Travel through India during this 40th annual Festival of India! The festival starts off with a parade with 40-foot tall floats, singing, drumming and dancing that starts at Bloor, runs down Yonge Street continuing south to Lakeshore Blvd. After the parade experience artistic performances, Indian music and dance, a South Asian Bazaar, exhibits, and face painting on Centre Island. Pan American Latin Jazz Festival
The 2012 Pan American LATIN JAZZ Festival celebrates the culture of the Americas and is the first Festival in Canada to focus exclusively on Latin Jazz music. On several stages present there will be live performances of over 200 musicians, dancers and local artisans. Vancouver International Jazz Festival – June 25 – July 4

If you enjoy the smooth, rhythmic beats of jazz, then Vancouver’s International Jazz Festival is an event you don’t want to miss! Over 1,800 musicians, 400 concerts and 40 venues will be animating the city for 10 days, celebrating  North America’s oldest, most celebrated genres.

From noon to the wee small hours, a rich tapestry of jazz, blues, funk, latin, fusion, electronica and world music will fill the air at venues big and small, indoor and outdoor across the city. Vancouver is home to one of the most unique and extraordinary jazz scenes on the continent.

By taking the music to concert halls, parks, community spaces, clubs, public plazas and neighbourhood streets, the Jazz Festival will electrifies Vancouver with over 400 concerts and stirs the souls of more that 500,000 people each year. One of the many free events taking place during the festival includes Gastown Jazz! This is a free, two-day street festival. Historic Gastown becomes an open-air party with multiple acts spread over two days from 1 p.m until 8 p.m. Featuring Canadian and International artists, Gastown Jazz has become a traditional destination for jazz fans and is synonymous with the opening weekend of the Festival. Two free stages bookend Water Street’s three blocks. Continuous music is performed for everyone to enjoy. Friends and families come from all over to celebrate the beginning of summer while reveling in a diverse array of musical styles. Gastown Jazz also boasts dazzling street entertainers, souvenir and CD kiosks, snacks and refreshments, as well as a wide selection of cafés, restaurants, and bistros all along Water Street.
