Lasertag and Karaoke Re-cap!

How did you spend your Labour Day? 12 INTERNeX candidates met up and had an amazing day playing Lasertag and singing their lungs out at Karaoke! Thanks everyone for coming out yesterday to our Lasertag and Karaoke night!

We arrived at Laserdome at 4.30 and we were able to start our Lasertag game. In total we played 3 games and had a lot of fun. Before each game we were divided into different groups and we were sent out to ‘kill’ as many people as possible.  Each of us had a vest on and a gun in our hands. The vest had several targets on them. They would light up a color (your team color) and you would have to shoot everyone that did not have the same color as you. There were some people (Adam!) that were really into it and they were even rolling around on the floor trying to shoot people. If you were shot than you were ‘dead’ for a few seconds and then you are back in the game again.  If you shot someone the gun would say:’ Good shot’ and you would earn 150 points for your team. If you got shot you would lose 75 points. You also had an individual score to see who was got the highest score of the group. For our group that was newcomer Youp! He just arrived in Vancouver and came out with us to meet new people.

After lasertag everyone was pretty hungry so we made our way back to Downtown and got a nice meal at Malone’s on West Pender Street. Most of us at a burger and fries, something I would totally recommend you to do!

After dinner it was time for Karaoke. We went to Fantacity, a Korean/Japanese style karaoke. This meant that we had our own room with a giant TV and two microphones. Everyone sung at least 2 songs and had a lot of fun doing it! We had songs ranging from Fame to the Real Slim Shady and some good, and some bad singers. Want to hear some of the songs we sang? Check Nathalie’s Facebook page for the video’s she posted online. On the INTERNeX Facebook site and our Flick Page you can view the pictures from the entire night!

Tomorrow is PuBNiGHT, a night that is also filled with music. But this time you don’t have to sing yourself. So meet us at the Blarney Stone at 8.30 pm for some games, laughs and beers!

Fun at the Bowling Alley!

Thanks everyone who came out to our Bowling night yesterday, it was a lot of fun!

As it is custom to bowl with 10 pins and a big bowling ball in Europe, we were faced with a bit of a surprise. Bowling in Canada means with 5 pins and a small bowling ball. But after a few trows everyone got the hang of it and we had a few good games. Our high scorers for the night were Verena and Ralf. They really impressed everyone with their Mad Bowling skills! It was Nathalie’s first INTERNeX event and it was great for her to get to know new people. Did get to meet her last night? Come meet her, and other INTERNeX candidates, at our PuBNiGHT tonight. We will meet at the Blarney Stone at 8.30 pm! This PuBNiGHT is extra special because it is also Laura’s last PuBNiGHT as an INTERNeX intern! So be sure to come out!!

Seems like a new INTERNeX intern is in town!

Guess what? I am in Vancouver; I am French and definitely want to bring my crazy French touch to the events and life of the INTERNeX community.

My name is Nathalie. I come from Paris and have lived one semester in Hong Kong and one in Madrid. So, as you can suppose, I am used to traveling a lot and went through what you are currently experiencing now in Canada! Meeting a new culture, building a new social network, enjoying or getting scared by others’ habits 😉 and finally getting ready to leave the city with no regrets and a lot of memories! I would be glad to share with you my experiences and learn from yours and can’t wait to meet all of you at our office or during the events!

By the way, we are going bowling tonight and I hope to see you there, as much as I hope to share a couple of drinks with each of you at the famous PuB NiGHT tomorrow!

As you know, we are all here to help and welcome you, so I am here to answer any questions you may have, remark, even have a drink, join you for a trip, bike through Stanley, hiking in grouse mountain and make you enjoy Vancouver as much as I do!

This is the beginning of a new adventure overseas. I will absolutely make it be special and unforgettable thanks to you and all our awesome PR team that you already know!
