New PR Coordinator

Hi everybody,

my name is Sophie and I’m the new PR Coordinator at INTERNeX. Some of you already know me because I arrived in Vancouver six weeks ago and studied English. I have never been in Canada before but i already love this country and especially this city. It’s my first time far away from home over a longer period, but it will definitely not be the last time for me to travel the world.

Here at INTERNeX I will support Henrik with the organization of the Pub Nights and any other activities. My goal here is gaining knowledge in the professional field but of course also carry on to enjoy my time in Vancouver.

I’m 21 years old and studying economics in Germany. So, guess, I’m from Germany. Unfortunately I will leave Vancouver at the end of October again because I have to go back to university. But till then we will hopefully spend a lot of time together.
So I hope to see many of you at my welcome Pub Night on Wednesday.

I’m looking forward to see all of you, guys.

Cheers,

Sophie

Review: Pub Night @ The Famous Warehouse

Yesterday we had another great pub night. This time we went to The Famous Warehouse. We had to wait a little in front of the entrance before we could get seated but it didn’t really matter… there’s always something happening in the streets of Vancouver, always some entertaining people to watch.

The food at the restaurant was ok and definitely not bad for the price of 4.95$. And the beers weren’t bad either. But one dish wasn’t enough for most of us, so we just ordered another… always curious to try how the next dish was going to taste. Soo, because all of our dishes were added to one receipt, the receipt almost looked like Santa’s long list of gifts to give to the children… or just a very expensive night out. But of course we payed separately. And even though most of us had more than one dish it wasn’t really that expensive.

This was also a pub night to welcome our new Internex pr-intern Sophie. Some of you already know her since she has been staying in Vancouver for about six weeks already. Anyway, hope you’ll also give a great welcome to our next pub night. And of course this pub night was also a little celebration of my (Henrik) birthday.

Thanks a lot to all you you guys who showed up. Looking forward to see you for our next pub night!

INTERNeX Canada: Picture of the week

Our picture of the week is, of course, four our new intern Tobias! He arrived last Monday to the office and his first week was pretty busy!

The Beautiful German Crew

If you don’t know, he’s a 21 years old guy from South Germany. He studies Business Administration, Department of Banking, in a program which combines 3 month training and 3 months at university.  He likes soccer and tennis and hang out with friends.

So this picture was taken in his first PuB NiGHT in The Metropole. We went there last Wednesday to watch the Hockey Game. You can read the entire review here if you are interested.

I made him a little interview about how was his first week here!

What was thing that most surprised you about Vancouver?

I think it is definitely the matter of fact that Vancouver is so multicultural. It’s kind of surprising how many people you meet whose origin is not Canada!

What was the best and the worst thing during your first week?

The best thing was that I experienced how nice and helpful people are in Vancouver especially my office mates and of course my host family!

The worst thing? I don’t remember any negative moments, because Vancouver is amazing!

What did you do to overcome the jet lag?

I tried don’t sleep during the flight from Germany to Canada. Hence I could sleep better the first night, but I was wrong: I only slept 4 hours! But I arrived on Friday, so I had Saturday and Sunday to relax.

One thing that you have to bring in your luggage.

Definitely your Letter of Introduction! I saw a few students waiting at Immigration for a long time, because they forgot them LOL.

So welcome Tobias! We are so happy to have a new intern, and we are sure we will have a lot of fun together!

Happy Sunday Funday!

Clara.

INTERNeX HiGHLiGHTS 2, shows it all!

Watch this video and listen to our beautiful voices during the last Karaoke PuB NiGHT! We also had big changes in our PR-Team – we are very happy to welcome Katie in our office. At the same time it’s so sad to let Maria go back to Germany. And of course our Vargas Island adventure is still fresh in our memories! Check it out!

Cheers,

INTERNeX Canada: New Intern

Hi Everyone!

I’m Kristina and I am very excited to join the INTERNeX team as a new PR Intern!  I was born and raised in British Columbia, in a suburb just outside of the city and love everything about Vancouver.  I am just finishing up my Communications degree at Simon Fraser University and I can’t wait to gain experience outside of a university setting and have fun doing it 🙂  Like many of you, I have a passion for travelling and have been throughout Europe and also just back from studying abroad for a semester in Melbourne, Australia.

Through my experiences abroad, I definitely know how it feels to be lost in a new city, so being a local I am happy to help you guys out anyway possible.  Spring and Summer are when Vancouver really shines and there are so many fun things to do during the day (and night of course!) So I’m very lucky to start this month and I look forward to meeting everyone at the PuB NiGHTs and all the other events.

Cheers,

Kristina
