Smart Saver Vancouver

Today we are going to talk about how you can save money on something that everybody needs…..Groceries!

One of my favourite stores to go to is called Dollar Tree. This fun company has a lot of different stores in Vancouver. Everything in the store is $1.40 or less!! I always buy things like laundry cleaners, toothpaste, deodorant and shampoo there, because it is way cheaper than in most drugstores.

Besides Dollar Tree there is also a kind of similar store called Dollarama which also offers a lot of different stuff only the difference between Dollar Tree and Dollarama is that at the last one there are also things that are above $1.40.

7136715909_402a304f7c_zWhen it comes to food, No Frills is a good option to get some cheap groceries, especially if you take a look at their own brand called “No Name” which are the cheapest products they sell.

But if you don’t feel like cooking then The Warehouse is a really good and cheap place to get some food and drinks, since all meals are $4.95. Also Commercial Sushi at Commercial Broadway is a very good option. At Commercial Sushi they have a Sushi Special, this includes a Miso soup and 3 different sushi rolls you can choose of the selection they made.

Hopefully you all will save some money on your daily shopping with these tips. Hope to see all of you at the PuB NiGHT tomorrow!!

Smart Saver Vancouver

This week we want to give you a practical Smart Saver about where the best places are to buy your groceries.

Let’s start off with No Frills. No Frills is one of the cheapest grocery stores around here. It’s a good place to go for all your basic items like canned tomatoes, pasta, spices, cheese and much more. When you’re there it is a good idea to look at their own brand “No Name” since these are the cheapest products they sell. They have locations in downtown, 4th avenue, Broadway and Fraser.

A good place to go for all your veggies and fruits are the little markets that you can find on almost every corner. Their vegetables and fruits are just as good as they are at the bigger supermarkets, but just way cheaper. A few examples are the Sunrise Market on Powell St and the Apple Farm Market on 4th Avenue and Broadway. But of course you can just go to every market that is close to you, since you can’t really go wrong with fruits and veggies.

Another good place to go for veggies and fruits is T&T supermarket. There are several located throughout Vancouver. They also have a lot of fresh seafood and pre-cooked dinners. If you go there at the end of the day you can even get a discount on the lunch and dinner dishes like sushi.IMG_1533

Then there is Walmart and the Real Canadian Superstore. Both of them offer most food cheaper than any other supermarket does, but especially items like granola bars, cereal, yogurt and bread. Unfortunately none of these stores are close to downtown, but it might be a good idea to go there every now and then to buy in bulks.

The last one is Costco. Unfortunately you can’t get in unless you have a membership, so most of you probably won’t be able to go there. However, if you are looking for a cheap lunch, outside at the food court you can get a hotdog and large soda for only $ 1.50. We are huge fans of those in the office.

I hope to see all of you at The Pint for PuB NiGHT!

Smart Saver

This time we have a super cheap grocery smart saver in China town for you guys.

If you want to buy watermelons for $1 or three cucumbers for $1 or maybe you are more fan of strawberries for a $1, than you should go and visit the Sunrise Market in Chinatown. The Sunrise market is located on 300 Powell street, just of Main street. They do not only sell cheap vegetables and fruits, but also basic groceries. The market is open everyday from 8am to 6pm.

Sunrise market is a asian run grocery shop, which you will notice as soon as you see the store. Asian people running around talking to each other and than there is you, standing in the middle of all of it buying your cheap grocery, couldn’t get any better.

If you go, do not let the look of the store scare you away, it is not a no frills, nesters or any of the other supermarket.

See you there

INTERNeX Canada: Smart Saver Vancouver- Where and what to buy in Downtown

Our student´s budget are not that big and I am pretty sure that we all prefer to spend our money enjoying Vancouver that buying in the Supermarket.

That´s why I think is important to know the cheapest places and the correct ones to buy the differents products!

One of the most affordable supermarkets in general in town is No Frills. The price of the same products can be around one dollar less than in other supermarkets, and they have always specials deals every week! There are different locations; you can find one in downtown in Denman Street.

Another good option if you like chocolates, candies and snacks in general (I know what I am talking about…haha) is to buy them in Dollarama or that kind of discount shops! You can buy the same piece of chocolate for less than a dollar and for just 1.25$ you have so many items!

In Shoppers Drug Mart sometimes they have such a good deals! You can buy beauty products of popular brands that originally can cost 50 dollars for just 10…

And in general all the area around Chinatown is where you will find the better prices in Downtown!Like for example in the Sunrise market!

To sum up:

If you are a sweetie person, go to Dolarama, Dolar Store or that kind of shops to buy cheap chocolates bars.

If you are looking for good prices in general, visit the nearest No Frills supermarket!

If you need some nice products for your face, hair and in general beauty staff, keep an eye to Shopper and its special offers for limited time!

If you know where to buy you have the chance to save some money and spend it for example partying with us! It sounds great, isn´t it?

Cheers,

Irene

INTERNeX Canada – Smart Saver Vancouver

It was definitely a huge shock when I got to Vancouver and realized how much more expensive everything is. The other INTERNeX staff gets to hear me complain about this every time I go to buy something. I’m sure it’s their favorite part of the day! 😉

I obviously would love to find the cheapest place to shop because of this. I know that most of you have heard of No Frills because it seems to be the cheapest grocery store in Vancouver. They have an awesome selection of great products and it’s pretty unlikely that you will find prices like theirs anywhere else!

Would you like to know what the best part is? This week is their $1 sale! Everything from V8 juice to applesauce is on sale! I would highly recommend going and checking out these awesome deals.

Here’s a link to the website: No Frills

Cheers,

Katie
