INTERNeX Canada: What a girl wants

Maybe guys you’ll fin this blog post totally girly, but without doubt it would be good for you to read it! You will know what women want!

1)      We HATE lies!

First of all we need someone we can trust! Nowadays we are strong enough to handle all kind of situations, so please guys, be honest!

2)      Make us laugh!

Everybody loves the positive people, fun and with sense of humor! Be funny but not with dirty humor please!

3)      Be a gentleman!

The little details make the difference. It’s cheap and effortless to open the door, walk our home at night… take our hand. Be polite, being rude is no sexy anymore!

4)      Don’t be or play stupid!

You can be the hottest guy in the world but if we can’t have an intelligent conversation with youit’s kind of impossible for us to fall in love with you! And that’s true, sometimes women we love speak too much and about everythingbut it’s not that hard to have a good time if you are interesting in the other person!

5)      Respect us

Guys, you are lucky to have us (imagine a world without women…) so please be loyal to us! If you are dating somebody, date that person, don’t date any person… if you want to do that just read the first point of this list. Respect includes of course give us our space if we need it! We had a life before you!

6)      Be clean

Nowadays there are even more products for the male beauty that for womenyou are free to worry  for your future wrinkles is OK, but for us is enough if you have a good hygiene! Even if you like careless style, ( I do)we like the clean careless style!

7)      Technology is OK, but we are better

I am sure you have 30089898787867mails, SMS to answer but if you meet someone is to be with that person! And this is in general! Technology is OK but real life is better! Don’t forget! And of course don’t use technology to break up or to lie C mon! How old are you? Do you call yourself a man? Let me say something, a man… a man don’t do that.

8)      Just be our friend not the perfect man that you think we are looking for!

That’s so important! Everybody loves beauty, success, moneybut we are all humans! With lots of positive things but also lots of weakness! But that’s something that we already know, so please don’t play being someone you are not, we don’t love perfect man, we love our fun and imperfect man who first of all was just a good friends and with whom we fall in love as a consequence of knowing that person in his good and bad circumstances!

So thanks to read this long list but the main advice I can give it to you  is basically be yourself and if you love someone the rest of the things will come for themselves in a natural way!

Girls, guys, hope it helps!

Cheers,

Irene

INTERNeX Canada: Culture shock

When I am walking on the streets of Madrid the people are more or less of my same height…but here in Vancouver I have to be always looking up! I don´t know how my neck can be fine! During my first days that was something that really caught my attention! Every day I saw some huge men! Yes of course that there were huge women too, but I remember better the men… I don´t know why… 🙂

Nowadays I just get used to be the petite among giants! I don´t like heels, basically because I don´t know how to walk with them and unfortunately with my age, I don´t think I will became taller! So I just have to get used to it!

But the height difference  is not all , INTERNeX environment is full of German people!! Specially plenty of tall, beautiful, nice perfect German girls! Yeah, they are just incredible… They are incredible pretty but incredible nice as well!  I wish I could hate them because sometime is like…how can you be so perfect? But they are so nice that you just can´t hate them, actually I love them…but in the pictures better not to appear so close to them, you know comparison are always bad!

Living in a city plenty of huge and beautiful people I guess it´s a good culture shock! I bet everybody can get used to it!

Cheers,

Irene

Picture of the week!

This week’s picture of the week is from the INTERNeX Networking Event that took place on the 1st of June due to the big NAFSA conference here in Vancouver. The event was a great success and we hope that everyone enjoyed it as much as we did. Again, thank you all for coming to our INTERNeX Reception!
However there are also some other people that deserve a thank you! A few of the INTERNeX candidates helped us out with volunteering for the INTERNeX Networking Reception and we would really like to thank these candidates again, so thank you: Regula, Matthijs, Kathryn, Matt, Arne, Timo and Oscar!!

At the event we had a photo booth where people could take pictures of them with their friends. All the pictures are online, if you would like to see them click here. I picked this photo to be the picture of the week because we are really thankful for all the help we got from our volunteers! Thanks for helping us make the night as it was; perfect!

Cheers,
Claudia

INTERNeX Goes Rockies – Review (Part II)

Hi people, as most of you probably already know, but I just can’t tell it enough – we’ve been rockin’ the rocky mountains last weekend with a group of 25 INTERNeX’ers and friends. In the previous blog post you can read everything about day 1 and 2 of our trip, click here to read it again! Here is the review of the last 2 days!

Day 3

We woke up in our hotel in Banff, a little bit hung-over from the party but ready to start the day again. From the hotel we directly went to the gondola to go up the mountain. We could walk from peak to peak once we got on the mountain. The view from the top of the mountain was absolutely breath-taking, we were just surrounded by huge mountains. When everyone was done taking pictures of the awesome view, we went down with the gondola again. We got back in Banff and had some time to eat lunch somewhere before we went to our next destination again.

The next destination was Lake Louise! We drove for a little while when we arrived at lake louise; it is this beautiful lake that was still half frozen. However the first few meters of the lake were defrosted, so some people who promised to go into the lake, jumped in!! After Lake Louise we had a little stop at Morraine Lake to take a few pictures.

Next stop Golden, where we had a bbq and campfire! In my opinion the most awesome night of the whole trip! Around 100 people were sitting around the campfire, first doing some games and later we got a guitar and everyone was singing! We did those things that are typical when you have campfire; ghost stories, singing songs, marshmallows etc. We sat there the whole night, because it wasn’t even cold! Also, during the night we had a quick lesson of line dancing by our tour guide Adam. It was so awesome to see about 80 people doing the same dance! It really added to the Rocky Mountain experience. Perfect ending of day 3!

Day 4

On the last day we woke up in Golden after an amazing night with bbq and campfire! We had a quick breakfast and we jumped in the bus again. We stopped at a place where they had the ‘Last Spike’. Our tour guide was telling us that they used to have golden spikes on the railway, but they always got stolen. At the place where we stopped they still had the “Last Golden Spike’’.
After seeing the last spike we jumped in the bus again and we drove to Enderby Flea Market. We were getting a name of someone else in the bus, and we had to find them the most horrible, ugly, weird gift that you can wear! When we got back on the bus everyone got their present and we looked hilarious! Some were wearing pajama’s, others weird hats and Klaas-jan had the honor to wear a bra! Meanwhile we were heading to Kelowna. We grabbed some lunch, took some pictures and got back on the bus again to, sadly, go back to Vancouver again!

We had the times of our lives on the INTERNeX Rockies trips and that is also thanks to you! So, we would really like to thank everyone that joined the trip and we hope that you enjoyed it as much as we did!!

Cheers,

Your PR-team

How was your weekend?

Hey guys, I hope you all had a great weekend and enjoyed the beautiful weather yesterday! My weekend was absolutely awesome! As some of you may already know; I am from the Netherlands! This Saturday there was a huge party in my country, because it was the queen’s birthday. You can probably compare it to Canada Day here. When it is Queensday in the Netherlands everyone is dressing up in orange (our national color) and we are celebrating the queen’s birthday in every city of Holland! Here is a picture to give you an idea…

Since I and some other people in my house are Dutch, we had to celebrate this of course!! 😀 So, on Friday night a bunch of Dutchies went to the Roxy’s and celebrated Queensnight together. Most of them were of course wearing orange clothing and drinking Dutch beer!

On Saturday we had to wake up really early in the morning, because some INTERNeX candidates and I were going to make a boat trip! We woke up at 6 in the morning to go all the way to Deep Cove, where the boat was located. It was pretty good weather and we were sitting on the front part of the boat in the sun. We had a beautiful view, fresh air, some drinks and music. It was a perfect day and the experience was amazing!
We saw an amazing waterfall which you can only access by boat! The owner of the boat had a BBQ on this boat, so for lunch we made delicious burgers! Unfortunately the rain kind of ruined our lunch, but it couldn’t ruin our day anymore!  It was a really unique boat trip and also a little bit a farewell for Bart, because he will be leaving us this Tuesday!

On Sunday I had a nice relaxing day. Finally the weather was so good that I’ve been outside the whole day, just lying in the sun with some of my housemates! I even got a little sun burn – that is how beautiful the weather was on Sunday!!

Now I am curious how your weekend was! Tell us by leaving a comment :D!!

Have a good beginning of the week!!

Cheers,
Claudia
