INTERNeX Canada: Picture of the Week

Our picture of the week is one of Josephine from Germany

Josephine just finished school in Germany and went to Canada to collect some awesome experiences before going off to college. Usually she is more comfortable in French, but she takes on the challenge of dealing with the Vancouverites and their talk about the weather in English. Read what Josephine thinks about Vancouver and her internship at Living Blueprint so far…

How did you find INTERNeX International Exchange?

It’s a great chance! I’m so happy to be here.

Why did you choose to go to Canada?

I wanted to go to a very special country! Canada is definitely special: it’s bilingual, has a beautiful landscape and nice people, …

How do you like your internship?

My internship is awesome! I have a lot of fun here and learn a lot of new things about Marketing and Branding every day.

What kind of tasks are you responsible for on a daily basis?

There is no special task I really do every day. In the first week I learned to work with programs like InDesign. Now, I am working on some little “projects”  to improve my knowledge about this software and to practice it. Additionally, I just look over my colleague’s shoulder from time to time to take part in the current events.

What are the downsides so far?

There aren’t really downsides so far. Just the weather at the moment…but that is something I expected 😀

What do you like most about Vancouver?

The landscape around the city!

Where have you been in and around Vancouver?

I was at Lynn Canyon, in Downtown, at the Chinese Garden, at Jericho Beach and yesterday I went to the hockey game of the Canucks vs. New York Rangers! It was so amazing!

What is the most surprising thing you have seen or noticed so far in Vancouver?

People say “thank you” to the bus driver when they get off the bus. First, that was a bit unusual to me but I think it’s really nice!

Thanks for your insight, Josi.

Annika

INTERNeX Canada: Picture of the week!

INTERNeX Squad 2013

Happy Saturday! The photo for this week is from when we all went to play paintball in North Vancouver! It was a beautiful sunny day…but felt like a war zone in the forest. Contrary to what some people might think, paintball games are way more aggressive than water-gun fights. It actually feels like you are in a battle, fighting to remain alive. Players compete, in teams or individually, to eliminate opponents by shooting paintball. It really hurts…but was a lot of fun too!

Cheers,

Flora

INTERNeX Canada: Picture of the week!

This picture of the week was taken at our Pub and Club night at the Pint on Friday! It was a huge party with so many people who gathered that night. It was a special event since it was Maike, Jildau, and Tam Ara’s going away party and of course it was a hockey game night in Vancouver! We also had a guest from Westtrek who gave us a one day ticket to either Whistler or Seattle, so we decided to do a draw. And the winner was Queenie! Later during the night, the DJ came on and we all went up to the dance floor. Everyone showed off their dancing moves, and I got to say, some were so hilarious! Overall, the night was a huge success 🙂

Cheers,

Flora

INTERNeX Canada: Picture of the week!

This picture was taken when we went to the Granville Island Brewery tour last Saturday! Just look at Phi’s expression (bottom center), with his shoulders up and arms out, it almost seems like he is saying “oh well, what can you do?”. Why? Because it was so cold that day (just look at the greyness and fog in the background) yet we still braved the weather as we watched the street performer’s act all the way to the end. And we all even agreed to be photographed in the freezing cold without one complaint. But the smiles on our faces with the Canadian flag waving high above us is just so priceless in my opinion!

I hope you’re all enjoying the weekend! 🙂

Cheers,

Flora

INTERNeX Canada: Picture of the week

This is a tribute to a bunch of guys who have become a major part of our weekly PuB NiGHTs – not just because they are always there but because they are always in a good mood, always fun and always up for a couple of beers. They are from Denmark and arrived in September this year, so it’s been about two months I’ve known them. This “Picture of the week” shows the three of them to the left and a German INTERNeX friend to the very right at our last PuB NiGHT. I know they don’t look all that impressed in this pic but faces tell way more than words sometimes. 😉

Unfortunately, they didn’t have the chance to join us on our fabulous weekend trip to Whistler in October but I’m sure the Rockies this weekend will be the best four days of their lives!! And finally they will get their pictures taken in front of majestic lakes and mountains instead of dark pubs and bars with a beer in their hands. You should know that they hate to be tagged on facebook at our PuB NiGHTs because their family and friends back home think this is all they are doing over here, which is not true at all of course!! 😉

I hope you have a great weekend and promise me you don’t just spend it at home or at the bar. Rather do something exciting, interesting or fun instead!! Enjoy it.

Cheers

Marianne
