INTERNeX Canada: Casual Friday

A Secret place to discover

Hi everyone! How is your Friday going? Maybe, thinking in the weekend? Probably yes.

Today I want to tell you about one awesome place that Mercedes and I discovered yesterday. We were looking for a place to eat and suddenly we saw a little hidden place between two supermarkets: London Drugs and Nesters Market (Abbott St with Hastings St).

It’s a little square with picnic tables to eat and take a rest, and a basketball zone. Very lighting and comfortable. Have a look at the pictures and judge by yourselves!

Vancouver has a large amount of hidden places, but you are lucky, we are here to discover them for you.

Shhhh!

Clara.

INTERNeX Canada: Picture of the week!

left to right: Rie, Ilse, Sandra, Dylan, Daniel

This photo was taken during our pub night at the Railway Club! To me, it represents the start of something new…like new friendships, new people, and new places. And before that night, I have never been to the Railway Club before but I really thought it was special. It had a different feel to it than most pubs I know…it felt more personal. So I guess, it was a new experience as well. But I am so happy I got to know and welcome more new members to our group 🙂

Cheers,

Flora

INTERNeX Pub Night Review

Yesterday we all met in the fancy Cactus Club Café in Yaletown!

There were a lot of people and new faces! Which is always great because here in Vancouver everybody leaves but new people are always coming too! And a lot of people brought their own friends! The more people, the more fun!

The venue was really cool, with a chic decoration and they had really good cocktails! They have a good specials too so it wasn´t as much expensive as you can imagine when you entered there!

I ordered Sangria and was the first place in Vancouver that Sangria tasted like real Sangria! Yep! No more peach juice with white wine! The real Spanish Sangria exist in Vancouver!

It was the last pub night of our great PR INTERNeX intern Xenia! She has been here for a couple of months but we all miss her sooooo much! I really don´t know what I will do without her in the office and in general in Vancouver! I will miss you so much! Katie and Petra left too! Oh my gosh, The PR “team” will miss you all, because you are our team!!You are the team!!!

It is always grateful being with you guys! And seeing more and more people every week is great!

Thank you so much!

See you next week!Or maybe earlier! Why not?

Enjoy this fastantic sunny day!

Cheers!

Irene

To all INTERNeX candidates…Your support is needed!

Hi everybody!

I hope you are all enjoying your time in Canada!

We are really impressed by your great input, such as the report about the last Canucks game that Florian sent to us (thanks, Florian!). It is a pleasure for us to be part of your experience in Canada and we are glad that you also want to share it with the rest of the world!

As you might remember, INTERNeX recently uploaded a video of the Snowtubing event on youtube. We received a lot of positive feedback and want to continue shooting short clips about INTERNeX events and more importantly your experiences.

The INTERNeX family of candidates is continuously growing. Therefore we want to provide potential candidates with your opinion on INTERNeX, the program you are on and your time in Canada. The idea is basically to film testimonials of YOU! Our INTERNeX family. If you would like to share your experiences, be on camera and on our YouTube channel, please don’t hesitate to contact us at pr@internexcanada.com! It will help folks just like you who are interested in coming to Canada and following one of our programs to get a better understanding of what the internship, hospitality, volunteer or city placement program is about.

It will be a lot of fun to film the clips since the set will not be in the office. We will go outside and visit some nice locations of Vancouver. Maybe you have an idea where to go? What is your favorite place in this beautiful city? Maybe we can drop by your placement company and do the interview!

Let me know!

Cheers,

Ziska

5 years after the final episode, Star Wars is back!! Fans of the Star Wars movies can enjoy the music during Star Wars: In Concert. The tour, which started in October 2009, is finally coming to Canada! The Canadian Tour will start tonight at the General Motors Place in Vancouver and will go to places such as Edmonton, Calgary and London(ONT)!

Star Wars: In Concert is a unique event that combines John William’s unforgettable music, performed by a live symphony orchestra and chorus, with specially edited footage for all six Star Wars Films.  Actor Anthony Daniels, for the Star Wars fans better know as C-3PO, will introduce each segment of the two-hour show, guiding you through the Star Wars story in a fresh an exciting way. “ We’ve taken the key themes from the music and cut together all the images that fit with each theme, so you can really get a sense of how the music played into the images,” said George Lucas, creator of the Star Wars Saga. “
Besides the concert, you can also enjoy an exclusive exhibit of Star Wars costumes, props, artifacts, production artworks and specially created behing-the-scenes videos from the LucasFilm Archives.
