Experience IT Review – Khatsalano fest

On Saturday we went to Khatsalano Streetfest, a 10 block street festival with lots of stuff to do! It was great to experience it with you. Thank you for coming!

First we were amazed by how big it was, since it was held on 4th avenue and they closed 10 blocks of the street off for this festivity. There was enough to look at: bands, food trucks, beer gardens and other vendors. We decided to start at MacDonald, and just walk all the way to Burrard to see what is going on.

We saw people doing all these different games to win amazing prizes so Iris and I, like real Dutchies, decided to get involved in this as well. First we spinned a wheel and got a free keychain. As second we were in the running for free waxing, but unfortunately we didn’t throw the ball in the golden bucket. After that we stood in line to throw Blundstones in a bucket 20 meters further, to win a pair of Blundstones. I came quite close, but didn’t make it.

After these exciting games we strutted a bit more down the streets and felt like we also deserved some food in our tummies. So we ate one of the best ice creams I had so far in Vancouver, with a fresh waffle cone. Of course I couldn’t handle it very well, so after the ice cream I continued with some chocolate stains on my shirt.

Luckily we found the beer gardens quite fast, so we could enjoy some nice refreshers in the sun. Although some people left at that point, I went on till the end of the festivity and made use of the variety of food trucks around dinnertime.

I had a great time with the people who joined  and I hope to see you all at PuB NiGHT or at the Vancouver Folk Music Festival!

Halloween Party @ Blarney Stone

Only two and a half weeks left and Halloween will be here.

We’ve decided to go for the Halloween party at Blarney Stone. Here you’ll only have to pay 10$ for the entrance, and that includes 5% GST (taxes)! So now you’ll have more money for a cool costume + drinks at Blarney Stone.

Consider this as a sign up sheet. When you sign up here on this Facebook event page you’re automatically agreeing to pay the 10$ entrance fee. There’ll be 5$ pints of Budweiser and 5$ high-balls on special. During the night there will be a live band and DJ playing, and there will be cool prizes for the best costumes. Tickets will be sold fast, so those who sign up first will be those who are going to the party. But don’t pay yet. We’ll keep you updated on the time of payment. So keep an eye on this Facebook Halloween event page.

We’ll meet in front of Blarney Stone at 7pm… right, it’s a bit early but this will secure us the 10$ entrance tickets and then we can skip the long line up at the entrance! Remember to bring 2 pieces of ID. In order to be let in we have to show up as a group, so please be at the front entrance on time. Unfortunately only people at the age of 19 or above will be let in.

Photo Contest Rockies Spring 2014

This will be the first of an upcoming series of photo contests and what better way to start a photo contest than in the Rockies with a whole bunch of people and beautiful sceneries. You can win some great prizes which will be announced at the After Rockies Party on Saturday April 26, so make sure you shot some nice pictures and submit them before Wednesday April 23 3.00pm.

The contest is divided into five categories and you are allowed to upload up to five photos for every category, however you cannot submit a picture in two or more different categories. The categories are:

–       Best action-adventure: any photograph with people in action during an adventure in the Rockies.
–       Most creative picture: photographs with or whiteout people that is creative in any way.
–       Best black & white picture: any photographs that look better in black and white than in color.
–       Best group picture: photographs with more than 3 people in the pictures
–       Best party picture: photographs taken in during the night at the Rockies

Please keep in mind that there has to be at least one person in the photography – except for the most creative picture, this can be any photography taken during the trip that you find creative, and the group picture needs to have at least 3 people in the picture.

Photographs can be submitted via Dropbox or by wetransfer till Wednesday April 2013 3.00pm.

Using Dropbox:

–       Registration is compulsory
–       Please send us a mail so we can invite you to the folder where you can upload your pictures.
–       Save the pictures with your name, so we know to whom which picture belongs
–       Upload the pictures into the correct folder
–       Of you do not have a Dropbox account yet, but would like to use Dropbox to submit your pictures, send us a mail and we will help you to set up your Dropbox account

Using wetransfer (www.wetransfer.com):

–       No registration is needed for westransfer
–       Make sure your name is stated in the mail and to which category you would like to submit you pictures too
–       Send the files to pr@internexcanada.com

INTERNeX or/and partners can use any submitted pictures as promotion material. Please do not upload your submitted picture to any social media tool. If you do so, your picture will be disqualified from the contest.

We hope you all will submit your best pictures and we will announce the winners on our After Rockies Party on Saturday 26th of April.

PuB NiGHT Review

Yesterday it was time to meet for a after-whistler-beer and a pre-rockies-beer. Also a great discount on the rockies trip was given away to the winner of the quarters tournament and some other nice prizes were won.

We met at the Bismarck where we were welcomed with free nachos and 3$ beer, what else do you want? Some of us ordered food and once everyone was finished eating we started the quarters tournament with Lesley from Westtrek. Pairs played against each other and the winner went trough to the next round. In the finals Fredrikke played agains Mohammed and after some intense moments Fredrikke won the $50 discount for the Rockies trip. However Mohammed did not go empty handed he won a big bus tickets for two days.

After everyone was calmed down and has some more drink we started our quiz. Charlotte was the winner of the quiz and won a big bus ticket for two days and a very green lucky cup. Claudia and Fredrikke won some great sunglasses and Lisa won a nice INTERNeX shirt.
