INTERNeX offers a volunteer program as one of our many options for working abroad, where you will be able to feed the passion for animals while doing good in a community.

The volunteering program is the perfect opportunity to make a difference in local communities and wildlife; you can help to rescue and rehabilitate injured animals as well as orphaned animals in Canada or Guyana!

But this is not only an opportunity to help animals, but it is also an opportunity to improve your English, experience different cultures, and travel to a different country!

There are a few requirements that you have to meet to begin your volunteer adventure. First of all, you should definitely have a passion for volunteer work and a love a lot  animals. You should also be physically fit and willing to work with animals! It is definitely a great opportunity if this area interests you!

A volunteer can quite exhausting at times but will definitely be very rewarding.

INTERNeX Canada: Ranchstay program

Hi guys!!

Experience the vast openness of Canadian Marlboro country and be part of a local farming family. This program is ideal for the cowboy/cowgirl at heart looking to spend some time on a ranch or farm away from all the bright lights of the big city. Ranchstay is for people looking to learn something about the community where they are placed and farming in general.

Ranchstay gives you the chance to become involved with family activities. You can use all the facilities of the farm, i.e. riding horses, driving the tractor etc. Although the program is not only about farming; it is a cultural exchange program where you gain real insight into the Canadian culture, mentality etc. The family may take you along when they visit neighbors, when they do their grocery shopping or when they go to events like rodeos or community festivals.

Ranchstay focuses on your objectives as opposed to the needs of the farm so placements are tailor built. We not only take your requirements into consideration but also try to match your personality with the personality of the farm family. Usually we can get a good grasp of a candidate’s personality by paying attention to how they write their letter of motivation, their pictures and work background. Since you are involved with the family 24/7 it is important that you both get along. Due to the personal relationships that we maintain with the farms we have a greater degree of control over your placement and thus the ultimate successful pairing between you and your host.

INTERNeX provides ongoing support.  We act as a mediator between you and the farm.  INTERNeX provides security; everything is pre-arranged prior to departure. You know where you will be staying.

Information About Our Destination Guyana

INTERNeX has exciting news! We have updated the information for our destination Guyana on our website.  Here, you have the opportunity to take part in several exciting Volunteer Projects, whether you are an animal lover, a friend of the environment or an adrenaline seeker, our programs here have something for everyone!

Guyana is an English speaking country in South America and is home to some of the most unspoiled, and beautiful wilderness and wildlife.  Guyana is a great opportunity to experience new cultures, give back and learn about yourself!

At the moment, we have these exciting projects to offer!

Wild West Guyana: This 2 week long experience allows you to live out your inner cowboy (or girl).  Where you have the opportunity to live on a ranch, ride horses, round up cattle and master the lasso!

The Last Vaquero (Cowboy):This program also lasts 2 weeks and you will get the rare opportunity to live amongst the cowboys in Guyana and help build an old style, split wood coral for horses. This program also offers the bonus of visiting a rodeo festival!

Wildlife Paradise:In this program you have the option to stay for 2, 4 or 8 weeks where you will live in the village of Surama.  Here, you will have the chance to assist with wildlife monitoring programs as well as making wildlife and forestry trails and animal spotting hides. This program is perfect for the animal lovers!

Amazon & Ameridians: This program also offers 2, 4 or 8 week stays where you will spend your time helping set up sustainable eco-tourism.  If you are interested in the environment and love working outdoors, this program is perfect for you! Some of the tasks may include fauna monitoring programs, dugout canoe building, forest trail planning and so much more.

Amazon Survival:  This program is for the outdoorsy adventurers out there! You will take part in a 2 week Amazon survival course learning how to find water, make traps, hunt, build shelter and leave a trail for rescuers.  This one of a kind experience will teach you invaluable knowledge and give you stories to last a lifetime!
