INTERNeX Canada: How to escape from/get rid off Raccoons!

Yesterday Clara was telling that we saw some wild Raccoons during the night after our weekly Pub Night. Now, what we did not know is that these animals can be really dangerous. They look really cute but they have some strong claws.

There are lots of them in Vancouver. So the best idea: keep them away from your home!

To that we made some easy to follow steps. These tips or steps also work for other types of animals that are hanging around your place. Vancouver is a city with more wild animals such as Skunks and even some Coyotes..

Step 1
Check all the areas around your home and clean them up. I’m talking about garbage, paper, food or even berries that are felling from your trees! In other words, totally clean the area. After that do even a double check! You never know, right?

Step 2
All of your garbage cans should have lids, closed and attached. During the night (when most of the Raccoons gets active) place some heavy stones or other things on top of your cans.

These 2 steps will defiantly keep the Raccoons away. A last tip from us is to clean your garbage cans sometime. They can be smelly and that attracts Raccoons!

Ok, now you all done! Have a good Sunday everybody!
Cheers,

Jelle

INTERNeX Canada: Highlights of the week

Hello! Would you like to take a look to the most remarkable things that have happened? Here you have our brightest post: Highlights of the week!

Well, maybe the most important thing that happened this week was that I’ve seen my first raccoon!

Not, it’s only a joke. The most important event that happens is that our new PR has arrived. His name is Jelle, a difficult word to pronounce for two wonderful Spanish girls like Mercedes and I. The first day we only could say something like “Yellow” but we are very smart and now everything is OK. Jelle is a 21 years old student from The Netherlands. He lives in Enkhuizen, a small city close to Amsterdam. He studied graphic design but now he’s studying International Tourism Management. Welcome! Welkom!

Other important day in our lives: last Wednesday, we went to The Railway Club, and we had a nice evening drinking and talking about the differences between Germans, Spanish and Dutch people. I’m delighted about that all the Germans say to me that the Spanish language sounds very well!

And Today… Richmond Go-Kart! We are right now going to Richmond to have a lot of fun! So I hope all of you are with us! If not, I recommend you to take a look to our blog frequently because we are working in a lot of amazing surprises!

And that’s all my friends! Have a good weekend!

Kisses,

Clara.

INTERNeX Canada: PuB NIGHT Review

Hi guys!

Yesterday, we went to The Railway Club for our weekly pub night! The music was excellent, they usually have amazing concerts. We could enjoy three fantastic rock bands: Double Fuzz, Ornament and Crime and Still Spirit. The pub was very cool. There was a little toy train that passed every few minutes over our heads, very funny! The special beer was The Moose Head. Of course, all the Canadians brands must to have the word “moose”, “maple” or “beaver”.

It was the first pub night for our new PR, Jelle . These nights are an excellent occasion for us (the super PR team) because all of us are new in the city and we are looking forward to meet a lot of people. So, don’t be shy! If you didn’t come, you have to join us the next time.

Most of them were from Germany, so we could talk about our loved Europe, shared impressions about Canada, and learnt some Germans words, ich danke ihnen! And we were talking about the next Saturday trip to Richmond Go-Kart too! If you are thinking about come or not, don’t hesitate! It will be fantastic. We have postponed this trip several times due to weather, but this time will be the good one!

Coming back home Jelle and I saw a couple of raccoon’s in the middle of the road! I had never seen one before, they are so cute… We don’t have pictures because it was very dark. Maybe the next time!

Kisses,

Clara.

Bike Ride Through Stanley Park

Hi,

I want to thank everyone that came to the Bike ride yesterday. I had a great time.

We started our day at the Bayshore Bike Rental company so that those of us that did not have a bike could rent one. Rentals cost are $6.00 per hour or if you are a student $4.00 per hour. You can also rent roller skates for only $5 pe0r hour.  For more information about Bayshore Rental, see their website.

After getting our bikes we started our journey to Stanley Park. Before reaching Stanley Park we biked on the Seawall. The Seawall is 22 km in total and takes you all over town, including Stanley Park. For more information about the Seawall can be found here.

When we arrived in Stanley Park we decided to first bike around the park so we could enjoy the beautiful scenery. When biking around Stanley Park you will come across the the totem poles, the girl in the wetsuit and many more.

The bike ride is pretty easy throughout the park, although at one point the hill we had to bike up was to steep for me and I had to walk the rest of it.

After riding all around Stanley Park we decided to also go through the park. That turned out to be a great idea as we saw a lot of wild life. We saw a raccoon, squirrel, a woodpecker and many other birds. Especially around Bever Lake we saw a lot of birds.

After a day biking through Stanley Park we still have not seen everything so we will definitely go back another time, hopefully you will join us next time!

– Manouk
