How was your weekend?

“Lonely. I am so lonely. I have nobody …” dadadadaa. 🎶
Well, I am not that lonely, but still am the only PR-team member left now and I feel as sad as Akon in the song that I just got in your heads. 😉
But let me tell you about my weekend because it was actually not that lonely.

Friday was a great kick-off for the weekend: We finished work earlier but still stayed in the office to enjoy Nadine’s last hours there. We played some games and just chatted for a long time. When we finally managed to call it a day, we went on to BierCraft on Commercial Drive. With a group of around 9 people, we spend Nadine’s last evening in a relaxed, yet fun way. At around 1am we decided to head home. It was sad to say goodbye, but we all knew, that it would just be a goodbye for the moment – we will sure as hell meet again! 😀 – Yeah, Nadine, you signed up for this. ❤

Saturday was just a really calm day for me. I talked to a friend back home in Germany and started to get my stuff sorted and packed. Yeah, soon it’s also time for me to leave – but let’s not get into that right now. So, I did laundry, got my suitcase out of the closet and packed some first things. Basically, stuff that I won’t need for my last time here.

44306759881_524245cb57_nOn Sunday, we had our trip to Bowen Island. I was a little concerned because it looked grey and rainy. Nevertheless, 13 of you showed up and boarded the ferry at Horseshoe Bay with me! Thanks for showing up and enjoying this day. Once we arrived in Snug Cove, we had a short restroom break but started quickly after with our tour around the island. After 30-45 Minutes, I already heard some of you asking for a lunch-break, so I was happy when we finally arrived at the picnic spot. Being fed and ready to hike some more, we made our way around Killarney Lake, enjoyed the views and nature. 42499125010_6a0ac66ce2_nShortly after we finished the round trip around the lake we arrived back in Snug Cove and had to wait for the ferry. While waiting, we bought some locally produced ice-cream, which was just tasted amazingly good! Once we arrived back at Horseshoe Bay, we took the bus back home. I arrived at my place around 6.30pm and was dead and done. Even though we didn’t do much, I felt really exhausted. So, I just collapsed in my bed and called it a day.

I hope you had a good weekend, despite the grey weather. See you on Wednesday for PuB NiGHT at Mahony and Sons!

Experience IT Review – Celebration of Lights

This weekend we had a relaxing beach day, barbecue and watched the Honda Celebration of Lights. Thank you all for coming!

We first met up on Jericho Beach at 4 PM to enjoy the sun and relax a little. Jericho is the perfect spot for that as it is way less busy than the beaches closer to downtown. Some of us had a big party the night before so they got some sleep on the beach.IMG_6432

After the beach we went to a private location to do the barbecue. We wanted to do it at the beach but unfortunately we only had a coal barbecue, which are currently not allowed due to the wildfires. Luckily we found another place to do it and although some preferred other food then the barbecue, it was still fun to eat together.

When it started to get dark it was time to go back down to Jericho Beach to watch the fireworks, but first we got to watch a really pretty sunset. The Honda Celebration of Lights is a yearly event. Three countries compete in the firework competition and on Saturday it was Japans turn. The fireworks started at 10 PM and lasted about 25 minutes, it was so pretty and mesmerizing to watch.

I hope to see you all on PuB NiGHT!

Experience IT review – Jericho Beach

Since the weather was so amazing this weekend we decided to have a relaxing day at the beach instead of paintballing. Thank you all for coming!

IMG_3887.JPGWe decided to go to Jericho Beach. This beach is a little further away from downtown and therefore way less busy then English Bay or Kitsilano Beach. It’s perfect if you just want to relax. If you don’t like the beach that much there is always the option to go lay in the park right next to the beach.

We spend most of our afternoon relaxing, listening to music and chatting, the way you should spend your day at the beach. Some of you where brave enough to go out for a swim and said the water was really nice. After we all got a little sunburned and tired from doing nothing all day, we decided it was time to go home and had to say our final goodbyes to Merle, as she left on Sunday.

I had a great day and I hope to see you all on PuB NiGHT!
