The first week of the year is already over. I can imagine you are still tired after working the first days of the year. But no worries, the weekend is here. If you still have no plans, keep reading and maybe I can help you out.
There are still a lot of Christmas activities going on. Go for example to Bright nights at Stanley Park, Canyon lights at Capilano Suspension Bridge, Festival of lights at VanDusen Garden or go the last weekend of Peak of Christmas on top of the Grouse Mountain.
On Saturday is the Nat Bailey Winter Famers Market at Vancouver’s Nat Bailey Stadium. Go to one of the many food trucks, music entertainers and all the other things you expect on a market: Fruits, Meats, baked goods, crafts etc. Prefer something drier? We are going to RIO Theater for the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Expect trivia, games, fun and the most important thing: the Lord of the Ring movies.
On Sunday everybody is of course going to the church. Even when you’re not a really church person, you can check out St. Andrew’s Wesley United Church. This Sunday they have Jazz festival called Jazz Vespers. You can just walk in, admission is by donation.

money. The Market takes place form 5 to 10 pm on Friday nights from May 2 to September 26. So unfortunately next Friday is the last chance for a visit. The Market offers 15 food tracks, 100 vendors and a beer garden. On the Shipbuilders Stage you can listen to live music until 10 pm and the admission to get in is totally free. Over 80 tents are filled with local products, showcasing BC’s artisans, bakers and farmers. The location of the market makes this the perfect destination to relax at the Pier, catch nice views over the city, eat and be entertained.

Bored of just watching movies at home? Why not go out for late night movie at Rio? Plus you get to DRINK! This place is an independent art and movie house and they even have a full service bar up and running so you must be 19+. All screenings are at 11:00 pm. Tickets are 
Why not take a stroll down Stanley Park? This giant park is great for outdoor adventures, there is always something going on. And on a sunny day, it’s even better! You can watch birds like the blue heron or just simply watch the beautiful scenic view in the sun. OR better yet, why not hop on the Easter train ride? You might feel out of place with all the small children, but hey, everyone is a child at heart 😉
