Review: PuB NiGHT at Central City Brewpub

Yesterday’s PuB NiGHT was at Central City Brewpub. It was amazing to see so many different faces. Thank you all for coming!

Central city brewpub is one of the two brewpubs of the Central City brewery in Canada. It is the only one in Vancouver. The pub has many different beers; local, imported and of course their own brand. Their local beers rotate during different seasons. By changing the beers, they give you the opportunity to try out as many beers as possible. Besides beers, they also make spirits such as gin and vodka and they have their own brand of cider.

17197663_1663697853645659_564391158_nThe pub arranged a nice and cosy spot for us in the back. It was a very big space, but most people just squeezed in together. We started off talking about a road trip that some of you are planning. It was really great to hear about your plans and to get inspired by them. After that we got the chance to get to know each other even better. The atmosphere in the pub was really relaxed and open. Even though there were some new faces among us, we made sure that they felt welcome with us like we always do in our INTERNeX family.

I had a great evening and I hope you all did too! See you tonight at the Canucks game or next week at PuB NiGHT!

INTERNeX Canada: Fun Facts about Canada – The Trans Canada Hwy

With its main route leading through ten provinces and a total length of 8,030 km, the Trans Canada Highway is one of the longest national highways in the world. If you haven’t spent a proper thought on it when you first read it, there you have it once again: It is 8,030 km long!! This is four times the distance from Copenhagen to Rome! Its starting point in BC is Canada Road Trip Rockies 2011Victoria on Vancouver Island and ends in St. John’s on Prince Edward Island. In the office, we just talked about a cross Canada road trip and agreed that it would probably be the only way to really see everything this coutry has to offer (apart from the northern territories of course). As we are in British Columbia right now, our impression of Canada has a lot to do with the magnificent outdoors in Western Canada – mountains, the sea, lakes, green parks etc. Yet there is so much more to discover! So far I haven’t ventured out of BC all that much except for a layover in Toronto and the Albertan Rocky Mountains but that was it. And even if BC is one of a kind for sure, I want to see more!!

Especially the Eastern provinces appeal in a completely different way: Québec with its gorgeous cities Montréal and Québec City, Newfoundland and Labrador with the incredible Gros Morne National Park and picturesque towns like St. John’s, Prince Edward Island with its beautiful beaches, New Brunswick with the world’s highest tides at the Bay of Fundy and Nova Scotia with its rugged shoreline. These and many more places seem to be magical and definitely worth a visit. So why not grab some friends, jump in a car and head out on a roadie across Canada on the Trans Canada Highway for a couple of weeks? 🙂 As far as I have heard, it takes forever to get through the seemingly endless provinces in the middle of the country where there’s just not all that much to see except flat land….Oh well, but it still is part of this massive country and certainly amazing in its own way.

Sooo what’s the plan now? I’m free early April next year, who wants to join me? 😉

Enjoy your Sunday guys.

Cheers

Marianne

INTERNeX Canada: Zipcar – Summer Party Silver Sponsor

INTERNeX is glad to introduce our partner and Summer Party silver sponsor Zipcar today! They are helping INTERNeX with the biggest event of the summer 2012! See the INTERNeX Summer Party event page for more information.

Did you ever wish to do a short one-day trip outside of the city where no bus is going? Need to do big shopping? Want a North American road trip? That’s what Zipcar will help you with! Zipcar is a car sharing company that gives you temporary access to a car if you are 21+ – choose time and type of car you need and enjoy the freedom!

All you need is to be a Zipcar member, your driver’s license and a driving record. It only takes a minute to join, just apply online! For INTERNeX candidates it’s $30 annual fee for your membership and cars start from $8 per hour! This price includes $30 in driving credit, all the gas you might need, insurance, 24/7 roadside assistance and 200 free kilometers/day! All you need is the Promo Code: INTERNeX2012! Once you’re approved, you’ll get a personal Zipcard, which is your ticket to any Zipcar in Canada, the US, and Europe! Zipcar launched in Barcelona and the UK this year and will be launching in Vienna soon! Yes, worldwide and you can even cross the US/Canada border on your Zipcar road trip!

That’s what the INTERNeX girls did when we decided to go to Seattle for the Fourth of July! We tested Zipcar earlier on a trip around Vancouver and to IKEA for some shopping. Both times the booking was so easy and we had an awesome time. Having a car for a day gave us flexibility to visit a Fourth of July parade near Seattle, do a small city tour to the gum wall and the first Starbucks and at the end see the incredible fireworks of the 4th of July in the US! We had so much fun that we were late to return the car. But Zipcar makes it easy: we just called and extended the reservation without any charges.

To reserve your Zipcar or change your reservation is as simple as that: use their reservation system anytime and anywhere; online, by phone or via apps for iPhone and Android. Find a Zipcar parking spot in your area, there are a lot of Zipcars parked throughout the city – a Zipcar lives near you! Your Zipcard is programmed according to your reservation, use it to open the car and you are good to go!

Cruise around in a MINI, take care of big stuff in a pickup, impress your friends in a BMW or be eco-friendly in a Prius hybrid. You’ll find all kinds of cars for whatever occasion you need!

If you guys are interested in doing a road trip, go to an outlet store for some nice deals, or just want to do some groceries, Zipcar is the perfect solution for you! Rent a car for a couple of hours, for a day or even longer and have the freedom to go ANYTIME ANYWHERE! See the Zipcar website for more information!

Cheers,

Xenia

INTERNeX Canada: ZipTrip Review

Yesterday the INTERNeX PR team took to the streets of Vancouver with the help of our awesome friends at Zipcar!  The weather was amazing and it was a perfect day to tour around the city and see what the Zipcar service has to offer.  We saw so many places and did so many things in a much shorter amount of time than we ever could have if we were taking public transit.  We tested out what it would be like making an IKEA trip, driving to the cheaper supermarket that is not normally accessible through public transit and of course had a great time driving around, blasting some tunes and making our own mini road trip!

If you guys are interested in doing your own trip or just want a car to grab some groceries or pick up some furniture, I highly recommend you consider doing it in a Zipcar.  The process was so much easier than going through the lengthy process of renting a car.  We didn’t have to book it far in advance or worry about fuel costs and paying for insurance.  With Zipcar, all of that stuff was taken care of and all we had to do was arrive at the car with our Zipcar card in hand.

The system was so easy; all we had to do was place our Zipcar card on the top left corner of the windshield, which then unlocked our car.  The car keys were tethered to the dashboard so you never have to worry about using them.  Our car was a brand new Mazda 3 hatchback named Manseuto and it was perfect! We couldn’t believe how fuel-efficient it was for all of the driving we got done in our trip.  Speaking of gassing up, the process for re-fuelling couldn’t have been any easier.  All we had to do was find the closest gas station, go inside and show them our universal gas card that was ready for us in car.  Once the gas was paid for, we filled up to a quarter tank and we were good to go!

Here are a few photos of all the things we were able to do and see on our INTERNeX Ziptrip.  If you want to follow our trip, you can check out our Twitter page where we tweeted, checked in and posted pictures all along the way.  You can also view the rest of the pictures on our Flickr Page.

If you want more information about Zipcar and the process of taking a car out for the day or a even a weekend road trip you can check out our INTERNeX blog post about Zipcar, and of course, check out the Zipcar Website  for all of the details.

We had so much fun on our Ziptrip and we know that you guys would have just as much cruising around in a Zipcar 🙂

Cheers,

Your PR Team
