Smart Saver

It’s smart saver Sunday again. So time to safe some money.

The last North Vancouver Night Market this year is the best opportunity to safe some money. The Market takes place form 5 to 10 pm on Friday nights from May 2 to September 26.  So unfortunately next Friday is the last chance for a visit. The Market offers 15 food tracks, 100 vendors and a beer garden.  On the Shipbuilders Stage you can listen to live music until 10 pm and the admission to get in is totally free. Over 80 tents are filled with local products, showcasing BC’s artisans, bakers and farmers. The location of the market makes this the perfect destination to relax at the Pier, catch nice views over the city, eat and be entertained.
The North Vancouver Night Market is placed just east of the Lonsdale Quay Seabus terminal.

If you’re really really hungry, it’s time to go to the RIO. It’s a Brazilian Steak House and you can get there a real Brazilian BBQ with all you can eat for only $15. They offers a great variety of different kinds of meat, such as Beef, Lamb, Chicken, Pork and Fish. You can eat as much as you can. You can get the side dishes from a great buffet with salad, french fries and different other Brazilian delicacies, which you’re welcome to serve yourself as much as you please.

Grouse Grind Hike with INTERNeX!

With all of the rain we’ve been getting in Vancouver, I’ve been itching to get outside and enjoy the weather. If you’re in Vancouver, you know what I mean. Anyone is welcome to join Manouk and I tomorrow morning as we head to Grouse Mountain to hike their Grouse Grind trail. We will meet inside the Waterfront Station at 10 a.m. and take the sea bus to North Vancouver. From there we will hop on a bus that will take us straight to our destination.

What you will need:

  • Good hiking shoes / running shoes
  • Comfortable clothing
  • Bottle of Water
  • Packed lunch (optional)
  • Money ($10.00 Skyride down the mountain and bus fare OR 2 Zone bus pass)
  • Camera

The Skyride is optional, as you can hike back down the mountain. We can decide this once we get to the top, however the Skyride is a one-mile journey like no other.

High above towering Douglas firs, breathtaking views of the city of Vancouver, sparkling Pacific Ocean, Gulf Islands, and snowy peaks unfold as you journey up the mountainside. North America’s largest aerial tramway is your gateway to the majestic nature of the Peak of Vancouver, and an experience in itself.

Once we get to the top, there are many activities to do if we want to stay and have a few more hours of fun. They have :

You don’t have to bring a packed lunch, but it might be fun to have a little picnic at the top, it’s supposed to be beautiful out tomorrow. There is a few restaurants at the mountain and a Starbucks I believe if you want to buy food instead.

This will be a  fun adventure guys, hope to see you tomorrow at 10 a.m. outside the Waterfront Station!

Check out the Capilano Suspension Bridge!

One of the first things I saw when I came to the city was Vancouver’s oldest tourist attraction. The Capilano Suspension Bridge, originally built in 1889, stretches 450 feet (137m) across and 230 feet (70m) above Capilano River. Since then much has been added to the twenty-seven acre park. Of the many things to do, Treetops Adventure is the park’s newest attraction – seven suspension bridges through the evergreens taking you up to 100 feet (30m) above the forest floor.

Guided nature tours, the Kids’ Rain forest Explorer program and Living Forest exhibit enhance this unique rain forest encounter. Enjoy musical entertainment and First Nations carving demonstrations. Take photos at the Totem Park and with the Capilano Tramps. Top it off with a visit to the gift shop full of quality merchandise from all over Canada and great homemade fudge!
