INTERNeX Explorer Ep3 – 2017 behind the scenes

The third episode is already online since April 1st, and that is not a joke, although we had a big laugh again with filming the scenes for this episode.

IEX episode 3.pngThis months episode was a bit more challenging since time ran out fast with all the other tasks we have. Besides that Janel’s mom visited Vancouver, so we had to miss Janel for a week. Because of that the filming was all over the place this month, while normally we film almost everything in one week.

For the informational part we decided to inform you a bit more about Yaletown, a gorgeous part of downtown with a thriving fashion district, nice boutiques and restaurants with patios. This will be the perfect place to blow of some steam during your lunch break if your office is in downtown. Unfortunately the nickname raincouver really came true this month, and we didn’t find a shiny day outside to shoot. Finally the sun was there on March 30th, two days before the deadline. We quickly went outside to shoot the entire Yaletown part with Danielle.

We were so happy that we finally filmed everything, but at the same time Thursday already came to an end. This meant there was only one day to edit the entire video, which can be quite stressful. Normally we spread the editing part over a few days, so we have fresh and creative minds every time. It was an intense day to get everything right: all the videos in the correct place, the voice-overs on the right spot and some green screens we needed to cover with lovely pictures.

So we hope you enjoyed watching the video, because there was some blood, sweat and tears involved (just kidding, we had ice creams). If you did not watch the video yet, shame on you! But you can find the video below ☺

Hope to see you all at PuB NiGHT tomorrow!

INTERNeX Canada: New Fun Facts !

It’s not the first time, I walk across the streets of Vancouver and I find a situation like this:

Cameras, spotlights, decoration, a “don’t cross” line, lots of people working, another ones responsible for the security of the assembly area, and so….Yeah guys, I’m talking about shoots in Van !!

This picture was more than a month ago, for those interested it was the movie Godzilla, but I didn’t write because of this movie.

It’s amazing how many shootings we can find in Van City. They are everywhere…In Gastown they use to shoot a lot for example.

Yesterday, they were shooting in front of the police station next to the Science World, and it’s very usual to find a shot in Downtown.

A few days ago, it was revealed that the world famous 50 shadows of Grey will be filmed in Vancouver too.

And it’s normal, because Vancouver is a beautiful city which offers every kind of environments: from the perfect skyline of Downtown and its modern buildings…to the wilderness; amazing mountains and the relaxing Pacific Ocean. For that reason is not hard to believe that BC is one of the  largest North American film and TV production centres.

Here are some examples of TV Series filmed in Vancouver:

  • Supernatural
  • Once upon a time
  • Smallville
  • Psych

And here a few examples of movies:

  • Juno
  • X-Men: The last Stand
  • Scooby Doo 2
  • Fantastic 4

This movies and TV Series have some scenes filmed in the Great Area of Vancouver ! If you want to know more in detail, in this link you can see where.

For the curious ones, in the BC Film Commission you can find the information of the current film list. Take a look here.

Now guys, we can say at home that we’ve been in some places where movies and tv series were filmed :p, and please, if you have a nice picture of some shooting don´t be shy and share it with us !!

Best,

Mercedes

INTERNeX Canada: Picture of the week!

INTERNeX Squad 2013

Happy Saturday! The photo for this week is from when we all went to play paintball in North Vancouver! It was a beautiful sunny day…but felt like a war zone in the forest. Contrary to what some people might think, paintball games are way more aggressive than water-gun fights. It actually feels like you are in a battle, fighting to remain alive. Players compete, in teams or individually, to eliminate opponents by shooting paintball. It really hurts…but was a lot of fun too!

Cheers,

Flora

The A -Team

I went to see the A-team with a couple of people staying in the Staffhouse at the Scotiabank theatre last Tuesday. It was Tuesday so that meant Telus Movie Combo Deal! For only $11.70 we got the ticket, popcorn and a drink!

As I went around the house to ask people if they wanted to come along, I came to the shocking conclusion that several people in the house never even heard of the A-team.  I couldn’t believe what I heard because in the Netherlands they used to show it on TV all the time.

So for those of you that don’t know, the A-team is an American television series about a group of ex-United States Army Special Forces soldiers who work as Soldiers of fortune (soldiers for hire) while being on the run from the military because of a ‘crime they didn’t commit’. Despite the fact that there are running from the law they are always on the good side and help people in need. The show ran from 1983 until 1986.

The A-team has 4 members:

  • The leader Lieutenant-Colonel John ‘ Hannibal’ Smith, know for his excellent plans, sigars and the phrase: ‘ I Love It When A Plan Comes Together’
  • Lieutenant Templeton ‘Faceman’ Peck, usually called Face is a smooth talking con-man who uses cons to make sure the team has the supplies they need.
  • Captain H.M. ‘Howling Mad’ Murdock, who is the team’s pilot and lives in a mental institution because he is insane.
  • Sergeant First Class Bosco Albert BA ‘Bad Attitude’ Baracus. He is the team’s strong man and mechanic and has a fear of flying. The team usually uses a trick to get him into the plane, such as drugging him, knocking him unconscious etc.

The main cast of The A-Team. Clockwise from top: MurdockB.A. BaracusHannibaland Faceman.

The intro of the TV show combined with the theme song are well know by everyone. If you don’t know it or would like to see it again, here it is

I thought Liam Neeson did an outstanding job portraying Hannibal in this movie, but in my book nobody can top George Peppard’s performance as Hannibal. Hannibal was my favorite character in the series and George was definitely the right man for the job. Same goes for BA, nobody can beat Mr T’s role but Quinton Jackson did a fantastic job with his character BA. And of course there was the ever loving Face, who is still persuading the ladies. In this movie the lady of his choice is Jessica Biel. And let’s not forget Murdock, in this movie it was finally reveled why BA is afraid of flying, and I wouldn’t go in to much details but I has something to do with Murdock being crazy as usual!

I was really looking forward to seeing this movie. I really wanted to know if the movie was as good as the series.  After I have seen the movie, I can honestly say that I really loved the movie. It had a good combination of humor, romance and of course fighting, shooting and blowing things up.  I really recommend everyone to go see this movie! It is so worth it!
