INTERNeX Canada: HiGHLiGHTS of this week!

Hey guys, how is your weekend going?

Here are some of the highlights for this week!

We started the week saying hi to our new PR Intern Clara, who came from Mérida (Spain).

She is a lovely and friendly girl and she loves good films, music and visiting museums and art galleries.

She went to his first pub on Wednesday, so a few of you got to know her!

Then on Wednesday, we went to the Lamplighter Public House for our pub night!!

It was lots  of fun while we watched the hockey match (Vancouver vs San Jose) and drank.

It was super awesome just getting to know the new members of our group as we all as catching up with everyone !!!!

I think it was a short week for all of us, but it was wonderful !! (And good weather…yayyyyyy!! )

I really hope you are enjoying this  weekend whatever you are doing.

Best,

Mercedes

INTERNeX Canada: Flora says “it’s time for us to part, my friends!”

I can’t believe my internship here at INTERNeX has come to an end! Wednesday is really an odd day to end, isn’t it?

To be honest with you,  I was a complete nervous wreck when I first started way back in January. Everything was so overwhelming and every single task terrified me. As soon as I heard that I  might be the only PR intern working, I was seriously worried…had I made the right choice? But of course, the answer was yes. I don’t think I’ll ever regret this…especially because I was able to meet so many wonderful people. To everyone (including those who have already left Vancouver), although it might have been a short time, I had so much fun and thanks for being AWESOME.

I’ll always remember our hilarious pub nights, trips on the weekends, the beautiful and fun Rockies trip, and of course that amazing pub and club night last Friday. I want to let you all know that you have impacted my life in so many ways. To all the staff in the office, thank you for being so encouraging and supportive. It’s actually weird that I have to leave…I was just getting so comfortable here!

What’s next for me, you ask? Well, it’s back to being a student for the moment. Yep, that means textbooks and exams (no more pub nights for me on weekdays…no tequila shots). And after that, who knows! But I’ll still be around in Vancouver so we can hangout!

I want to leave with a quote (you might have read it on my desk frame), “Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened” -Dr. Seuss. What an incredible, amazing, lovely, humbling, fun, and most of all, learning, experience. I’ll miss everyone and not being the one in charge haha but hey, it’s my turn to sit back.

note* I think out of all my blog posts, this was the hardest to write. I just didn’t know where to begin.

See you around,

Flora

INTERNeX Canada: Time to say goodbye

Today is my last day here in the office and I´m really sad to live Vancouver after really short eight weeks.

However, I had an amazing time here with my colleagues and all the other people I met. Finally, yesterday I had a great night with my girls. First we took the Aquabus from Science World to Granville Island and there we had an excellent fish dish – tiger prawns with french fries and coleslaw! Mhhhhhhhhh… That was sooo good! Thanks for the tip, Simon! 😉

Thanks for everything, it was a memorable time for me!

Take care guys. I hope we keep in touch!

Cheers Maria

Olympic Schedule 2010-02-23

So here are some of the Olympic events going on today that might of be interest to you all:

1) First and foremost cannot forget to include the epic hockey battle occurring today @ 16:30 between Canada and Germany’s mens hockey teams! This game is the latest hurdle these two teams must overcome in order to progress into Quarter Finals. If Canada does manage to win this game…which Simon thinks is a sure thing…then the Canadian team will have to resurge their strength and go in it again for another game the next day against Russia. Let’s keep our fingers crossed otherwise their will be a load of disappointed fans!

2) Men’s 1,0000m Speed Skating event @ 11:00am. This is a medal event so let’s see which country manages to make the podium!

3) @ 14:03 Ladies’ ski cross finals (free style skiing) medal event!

4) And then this last one i’m just putting in because i love ladies figure skating and the short program is on today at 4:30 and i’m totally going to be setting my alarm for this one. Canada isn’t doing so great with their current standing being 15th and 26th, so i think we might be out of the running for a medal but hopefully our ranks will move up. We will just have to wait and see!

GOOD LUCK ATHLETES!
