How was your weekend?

Unfortunately, it is time to say goodbye to another great weekend in Vancouver. This means I only have one weekend left in this beautiful city. But hey, let’s not get into that right now. Instead, let me tell you about the fun I’ve had the past few days.

44020762001_2fc6f5abfe_nOn Saturday, it was time for our INTERNeX event: Outdoor Game Day. Six fun activities were on the schedule. But first things first: Team division. Who forms ‘team pink’ and who is part of ‘team blue’? After we determined that, we spilled the secret that there’d be a prize for the winning team. We had to get you guys motivated. Time to play the first game: ‘Card Relay Race’. Let’s find out how competitive you guys are. In this game, both teams had to collect all cards of a specific symbol. But, it wasn’t that simple. The cards lay, face down, on the other side of the field. Team members had to run back and forth, flipping a card at a time, until their stack was complete. It took quite some time before there was a winner, but in the end, it was 1-0 for team blue.

A round of memory, Kubb and water bottle bowling later, it was 3-1 for team blue. Next up: Pictionary. This was a challenging game in which everyone could show off their drawing skills. Well, or lack of drawing skills. This game surely created a lot of laughs. The last game involved water, sponges and buckets. The goal: bringing as much water to the other side as possible. Though it might seem impossible, both teams had the exact same amount of water in their buckets. So, both teams got a point. The end score: 5-2 for team blue. Congrats guys! I hope you liked your prize!

After multiple hours of being active, it was snack time (schnacks!). A couple of us went to the Warehouse in Gastown for lunch. When we finished our meals, I went home to freshen up. Not long after that, I went to Surrey to meet up with friends. We spent the evening watching my favorite movie: Safe Haven (If you haven’t watched it yet, get on it!) and Pitch Perfect 2.

Interactive IntrovertsOn Sunday, I spent most of my day relaxing. In the evening, however, I went to the Queen Elizabeth Theatre. Two YouTubers I watch, Dan Howell and Phil Lester, are on tour right now and on this day, they were in Vancouver. Their show is called Interactive Introverts and its aim is “giving the people what they want”, as Dan likes to say. I laughed a lot and couldn’t have spent my Sunday night any better.

I hope you all had a great weekend as well. See you tomorrow for our Outdoor Movie event in Stanley Park!

Review: FlyOver Canada

Yesterday we went to FlyOver Canada and it was a really great experience. We met at 5pm in front of the Canada Place and went together in. It wasn’t that busy because of the good weather, which was good for us so we hadn’t to line up.

After we had an audiovisual show of Canada we hit to your unforgettable Ultimate Flying Ride soaring east to west over some of the most spectacular scenery Canada offers. Since the FlyOver China was so popular, we had the chance to join this great fly as well.

We hope we will see you all tomorrow at our weekly PuB NiGHT @Moose’s Down Under.

PS: also our 18 year olds are more than welcome 🙂

INTERNeX Canada: Vancouver Fashion Week Review

Hello there!

Last Friday, we (the INTERNeX PR-Team) were very excited…WHY? Because we were invited to attend a very special event – the Vancouver Fashion Week! The Vancouver Fashion week (Sept 16th to 21st) was about Spring & Summer 2014 and took place at the Chinese Cultural Centre at 50 East Pender Street, very close to the INTERNeX office.

In general, what is the Vancouver Fashion Week about?

The VFW is the fastest growing fashion week in the world and every year the event is attended by over 20,000 guests! It’s a diverse and innovative fashion experience that features both emerging and established designers, e.g. international award-winning designers from very popular fashion capitals.

I was really curious to go to the Fashion Week, because I never saw a fashion show before. So I had no expectations. What about you? What are your expectations, if you would go to a fashion week?

So now I will tell you something about the impressions we got during the show.
At first I have to say that I was wondering how small the showroom and the catwalk actually were, because on TV a fashion week usually looks way bigger. Anyway, the show started and everyone was flabbergasted! Of course many of the guests took pictures from the models – they were very pretty, but in my opinion there were too many skinny models.

But the clothes they worn were kind of pretty! Of course, many of them were very spacy and not suitable for your everyday life, but otherwise some of them were very cool!

Well, probably I’m not a fashion person, but as far as I am able to judge I would say it was very interesting to see a Fashion Week and how the models walked down the catwalk – you know what I mean?! 😉

Take care,
Tobias

INTERNeX Canada: Pub Night announcement – Funny Wednesday at The Comedy Mix

If you want to laugh so hard your jaw hurts, come join us tomorrow night for a fabulous stand up comedy show at The Comedy Mix! It has been voted as Vancouver’s “Best Comedy Club” and I can tell you myself, this stuff is really funny! I was there 2 weekends ago and skeptical if I would understand the humour but in the end I laughed sooo much and had a great time. Each night, there are different comedians (usually 3) that perform their stand up shows and I don’t even know who’s gonna be there on Wednesday night. Surprise surprise!! 🙂 Also, you can get drinks and food (snacks) right there, what a bonus!

The tickets are only $10 on Wednesdays (up to $20 on the weekend), so you should definitely come – I know you will love it! In order to get decent seats for the whole group we have to be there 1 hour before the show starts, which means at 7:30pm. The location is in the basement of the Century Plaza Hotel on Burrard Street, so I would suggest we meet up in the hotel lobby at 7:15pm and head down there together as a group then.

This is the link to the event on facebook.

Everything in a nutshell:

When? Wednesday, Nov 7th, 7:15pm

Where? Century Plaza Hotel, 1015 Burrard Street – meet us in the hotel lobby!

How much? Tickets are $10

How long? The show takes about 1.5 to 2 hours

See you there! 🙂

Cheers

Marianne
