How did you find INTERNeX International Exchange?
Through a German partner organization.
Why did you choose INTERNeX International Exchange?
Because that German organization cooperates with Internex.
Why did you choose to go to Canada?
First of all, I wanted to improve my English. So I was looking for an English speaking country. I was torn between Australia, Scotland and Canada. I decided against Scotland and Australia, because Scotland is too close and half of the German population seems to have emigrated to Australia.
I haven’t regretted my choice so far.
How did you find a place to stay?
What kind of internship are you doing and do you find it useful?
I am doing an events, marketing and finance internship at SSU. I get to meet many interesting people and I have learnt a lot about SSU, what my coworkers do and how all the different departments work together. I think it really helps me to figure out what I want to do later.
Is your internship a part of your university program and is it useful for your career goals?
Yes, it is part of my university program and I believe it will be very helpful for me! My English has improved a lot, I feel very comfortable speaking English …
How do you like your internship?
I love going to the events! It is great to leave the desk for a change and to meet so many friendly people. My coworkers are super nice.
What kind of tasks were you responsible for on a daily basis?
As I am working in finance, marketing and events, I am responsible for a lot of different tasks. I send invoices to clients, processpayments, go to events and write articles about these events, I answer questions about events and sponsorship etc.
What do you like most about Vancouver?
What’s not to like? In the last months, Vancouver has become my favourite city! I love it that there is so much fun stuff you can do here. And the scenery is awesome!
Where have you been in and around Vancouver?

What was the most memorable thing you did in Canada (so far)?
Wow, I spent five minutes thinking about this and so many things popped up in my mind, it is simply impossible to decide. I really loved the White River Rafting, my Seattle trip was also fantastic (does that even count?) and I really love spending time outdoors, the forests and wildlife are so impressive.
Let’s sum it up: What was the best thing about your internship in Canada (so far)?
And what was the worst thing?
Pretty sure I should not mention this 😉
What is the first thing you will do back home in Germany?
I will have a homemade cappuccino. The only place with great cappuccino here is the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel and I find it a bit pricy to go there all the time.
Would you recommend INTERNeX International Exchange?
Of course! Mainly because of the fantastic interns! 🙂
