PuB NiGHT Review: 131 Water

Ready, set, let the game begin! The card deck ready in her hands, Nadine started to ask questions into the round. Black or red? Higher or lower? That’s how we began our PuB NiGHT at 131 Water yesterday. Some of you might recognize the questions – they are part of the game ‘bus driver’.42757303295_511babd74e_n

Shortly after 8pm, more and more people joined our table and the game as well. Some were lucky in the game, some not and others got so excited that they even spilled their beer all over the place. In the meantime, a new table opened up where some of us played the German game ‘Schummeln’. Fun times!

I was happy to see many new faces who we just welcomed in Vancouver last Monday. One topic of the night was of course our big trip to the Rocky Mountains next week. Many of you are excited to see the famous blue lakes in real life. Others did already and shared their experiences of the Rockies. Personally, I’m really looking forward it!

A few drinks later, it was time to change the location and introduce our new crew to the popular Met. As every Wednesday, karaoke was on the program for the night. So, we sang along to great and less great performances. Of course, the INTERNeX classic ‘500 miles’ couldn’t be forgotten on a night like this, so we gave it our best to entertain the pub.

Yesterday was great and the fun continues this weekend. I hope to see you on Friday for our picnic at Sunset Beach and on Saturday for the Celebration of Light!

PuB NiGHT Review: 131 Water

Oops we did it again… PuB NiGHT at 131 Water! I’ve heard great stories about this pub from all of you, which is why going back there once again seemed like a good idea. I think we can all agree that it was! The coziness, shelves filled with games and Happy Hour assured that it would be a great night.

40787832372_cbb1471c13_nSince it was Roslyn’s last PuB NiGHT, we started the evening with a game she loves: What Do You Meme? This game is reminding us of all the hundreds of memes that have been brought into the universe and that can serve as a quick reply to texts, rather than using words. Simple, but effective. Others played the non-meme version of the game ‘Cards Against Humanity’.

When everyone finished their beers, cocktails and Happy Hour snacks, it was time to show off our singing skills at the Met. We sang along to, of course, 500 Miles and, to showcase how international we are, some even sang a Swedish song.

All in all it was a great night with good people, good food and good music.

I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did!

See you all at the UBC Party on Saturday!

PuB NiGHT Review: The Lamplighter

“But I would walk 500 miles and I would walk 500 more, just to be the man who walks a thousand miles to fall down at your door …“ I still had these lyrics in mind when waking up this morning. Why this song? Of course, one of our favourite karaoke songs at PuB NiGHT!

Before all the crazy singing started, we spent a few hours in The Lamplighter, a pub in Gastown. They offer a broad range of drinks, so everybody could choose their favourite one. Everybody just settled in, when we heard a famous voice again “It’s time for some Bourbon Bingo!”. So, everybody got sheets and daubers (really cool pens to mark your numbers) and we played some rounds. This time, I was the lucky one who managed to get a round of shots for the INTERNeX gang.

Pub Night 1

The time passed by quickly while telling stories about Salt Spring Island, but also future plans were discussed. I am always happy to see some new faces at our table, as it was the case yesterday. No matter, if someone arrived yesterday or six months ago, there are always good talks. Since half of our PR-Team is leaving soon, many of you signed the Canadian flags of Mandy and Bart. What a nice souvenir for them!

A few hours later, it was time to say hello to our well-known karaoke DJ at the Met. The papers for desired songs were filled in fast and soon old and new teams had the chance to grab the microphone. As it was Bart’s last pub night, he gave again the best to entertain the pub with his all-time favourites. I am sure your heart will go on in Vancouver, even if you cannot sing in the Met in the next weeks.

I hope you enjoyed this night and I will see you all again next Wednesday!

PuB NiGHT Review: The Beaver

This was it! Another PuB NiGHT at The Beaver passed by ladies and gentlemen! The pub/ hostel welcomed us once again with free shots and gave us the wonderful spot up on the balcony. And as always on Wednesdays at The Beaver, it was time to play some Bingo. The first two rounds were simple Bingo and then we had two rounds of our all-time favourite music Bingo! There were even two lucky winners in our group: Sebastian and Toni! Congratulations guys, I hope you enjoyed your free drinks!

After some more tasty drinks and snacks it was suddenly 11:30pm. Time passed by so fast, which means we had good talks and many laughs to share. So, we all payed our bills and we headed out to… Yes, once again to the Met to do some karaoke. Or as in my case, listening and singing along to all those that had the microphone in the hand. My favourite moment was when Sebastian dedicated ‘My heart will go on’ to Bart. That was quite a show dude!

I hope you enjoyed it and had as much fun as I did.

PuB NiGHT Review: 131 Water

“Am I a woman?” – “Am I old?” – “Am I an actor?” – “Am I married?” Those and other questions were asked and discussed during yesterday’s PuB NiGHT. Sounds weird? No worries, it was all part of a game and in the end, we all figured out our new identities.

131 Water was yesterday’s place-to-be called. It is a cozy pub located in the lovely streets of Gastown. Big plus: you can find shelves full of games which you can just take and use during your time in the pub. Of course, we took that chance and played a round with Cards Against Humanity and “Who am I?”. Luckily, the happy hour just started in the perfect moment to get some delicious snacks and shots. When Shrek, Justin Timberlake and Bart’s mum were finally exposed, it was time to head to the Met.

So, what should we sing tonight? No matter, if it was the own choice or someone else filled in a paper; all challenges were taken as professionally as usual. The all-time classics, but also a Swedish duet set the Met on fire. It was fun!

Good that the sun is shining today, so you can hide your eyes behind sunglasses 😉

Enjoy your day and see you on Saturday in the escape room.
