What to do on the weekend

This time we only had a short week, because of Family Day. Even more reason to get outside, as you probably did not get that tired from this week. You don’t want to go back to your country and say that you haven’t seen everything, right?

For some of us the weekend already starts early, because we are going to Kelowna today! Kelowna is a beautiful city in British Columbia where you can do a lot of activities like hiking, skiing, snowboarding and snowtubing. However, you can also do other things if you don’t feel like being active on our mini vacation. There are several food and wine tours in Kelowna and there are a lot of opportunities for shopping.

Even though you are not joining our trip, it does not mean that you16237737_1615329781815800_1946877102_n should stay at home. Vancouver is a very lively city and there is lots to do here as well. One of the great activities held in Vancouver is Winterruption. This event is a winter arts festival that takes place on Granville Island. It already starts on Friday and will take place till the end of the weekend. During this event you can watch a lot of great performances on dance, music, film, arts and crafts. As it is on Granville Island, which is known for its public market, you also have enough choice regarding food.

There are several sports games during this weekend. On Saturday, the Vancouver Giants are playing against Red Deer at 7 pm at the Langley Events Centre. The Canucks are also playing this weekend on Sunday. They will play at Rogers Arena at 7 pm. When you are in Canada, you should definitely go to one of these games!

Are you more into movies? Vancouver got that covered too! For only $2.99 you can watch MVP: Most Valuable Primate at some Cineplex theatres. The movie already starts at 11 am, so you probably should set up the alarm. However, going to the movie for such a cheap price is normally not possible in Vancouver, so it is definitely worth the try.

Enjoy your weekend and see you today or next Wednesday on PuB NiGHT!

INTERNeX Canada: Upcoming events for January

Even we are relaxing enjoying Christmas time, January will arrive soon, so it’s time to know what events we have planned for you guys!

Project Barca

Here is their official description:

Here be dragons / Non plus ultra is a new work by choreographer Henry Daniel with Musical Director/Composer Owen Underhill featuring dancers, musicians, and media artists from Barcelona, Spain, and Vancouver, Canada. The work deliberately uses the city of Barcelona as a vehicle, a barca, for new cross-Atlantic voyages of discovery and understanding, connecting to Vancouver, Canada, at the edge of the Pacific. Using the historic events of 1492 as a reference point it explores the concept of going west to find east, and by default going east to find west.

The dancers in this work offer their personal narratives to question and provoke issues of identity, looking at what happens when the human urge to adventure takes hold, when the curiosity and excitement of discovery turns to colonization, and/or occupation of territory; the physical, psychological, and emotional territory of self and others.

When?Saturday 12th of January

And for how much? The original price is 29$, 19$ for student! but INTERNeX people we can have a special deal if 8 or more of you wanna come and make it for JUST 14$! Intercultural dance!

INTERNeX Canada: Rocky Mountain Trip Review

Last weekend I went 4 days to the beautiful Rocky Mountains, Winter Wonderland! Discover Canada Tours invited me to this trip, to check out this trip and see if it interesting for you guys. And honestly, I really can recommend this trip! I had four fantastic days, and it was a great experience which I will never forget!

Day 1: On Friday morning we left the city of Vancouver very early in the morning. Our first stop was Hope, and our second stop was Kamploops. Our tour guide told lots of interesting facts about Canada. The sights along the way were beautiful! In the evening we arrived in the city of Golden, it was a beautiful hotel, including hot tub, swimming pool, and the option to join the guide for a great party!

Day 2: On Saturday morning we had a nice breakfast in the hotel. This day I decided that I wanted to go snowboarding in the Lake Louise ski resort! The tour guide brought the people who wanted to ski/snowboard to the mountains. The snow was perfect, lots of runs, beautiful weather, and an awesome view! At the end of the day we went to our hotel in Banff, which was a very nice hotel as well!

For the people who did not want to do snowboarding/skiing were many other optional activities, such as ice-skating, sightseeing, dog-sledding, or go to the Sulphur Mountain Gondola for amazing views of the Rockies.

The hotel in Banff had several hot tubs, and a swimming pool, in the evening it was party time in a nice club located in Banff.

Day 3: We started this day with a nice breakfast. the skiers and snowboarders had another option to go the Lake Louise ski resort for the whole day. other people decided to do dog-sledding, or ice-walking this day. I did some shopping in Banff, and we did a beautiful walking tour through the nature in Banff together with the tour guide.

In de evening we went Lake Louise, and we had the change to do some ice-skating on the lake. Afterwards we went to our beautiful hotel located in Lake Louise village. There was a campfire with marshmallows, we had lots of fun. afterwards we had dinner in the restaurant of the hotel.

Day 4: On the last day we left Lake Louise early in the morning, since we had a long drive back to Vancouver. But first we went to Kicking Horse ski resort, and we did some snow tubing, which was lots of fun. We made different stops on our way to Vancouver, namely Last spike, Kamloops, and Hope! the way back was beautiful, I really enjoyed watching the scenery!

I would like to thank Discover Canada Tours for this AMAZING trip! Furthermore I would like to thanks the great tour guide and all the people who attended this trip!

You wanna know more about this trip, or do the same trip? e-mail us 🙂
