Rainbow Warrior Festival

A First Nation prophecy says the peoples of the world will unite as Warriors of the Rainbow to save the planet from destruction by greed and careless exploitation.
Greenpeace was inspired by this to name the flagship of its fleet the Rainbow Warrior. This fall as part of  celebrating its 40th anniversary, Greenpeace will launch its newest vessel: the Rainbow Warrior III.
Go celebrate Greenpeace’s efforts to protect our environment on September 17th, at the Rainbow Warrior Festival.

Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame

Visit Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday, September 17th from 12 to 2 p.m. for your chance to say farewell to the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games medals.
This Saturday is the last day full sets of athlete medals for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games will be at CSHoF on loan from the Royal Canadian Mint. Experts from the Mint will be on hand to tell the story of how the medals were made and allow visitors to touch, hold and take photos with the medals. And, visitors can learn about a first-hand Olympic gold medal experience and meet Canadian speed skater Christine Nesbitt, who won gold in the 1,000 metre event at the 2010 Games and is this year’s Calgary Terry Fox Run spokesperson.

Jazz on the Mountain in Whistler
Whistler will play host to the newest jazz festival in Canada, September 2-4, 2011. Set in the resort’s pedestrian Village, with free and ticketed indoor and outdoor shows, visitors will have the unique opportunity to experience performances and interact personally with jazz greats such as Kevin Eubanks – leader of the NBC Tonight Show Band for 18 years.The three-day festival will showcase 22 performers and 33 shows. Street entertainment is being programmed in conjunction with the Whistler Arts Council, free performances will be featured throughout Whistler Village, and ticketed events will take place indoors at Maurice Young Millennium Place and outdoors at one or more of the many spectacular venues in Whistler.

Steveston Dragon Boat Festival Richmond

The 2nd Dragon Boat Festival will take place on Saturday  20th of August 2011 in Steveston Village, Richmond BC.  Britannia Heritage Shipyard, at Westwater Drive and Railway Avenue. This is your possibility to see the fun and exciting Festival in Richmond with a lot of different activities.

Here you can try on yourself to paddle a dragon boat!!!

Outdoor Movie Night
The Outdoor Movie Night is a very special event in Vancouver. After the sun set films will be projected on a very big screen in the David Lam Park. Last year there were more than thousand visitors.  Make your way over to the Park by 7:00PM to stake out a prime viewing spot. The movie will ends just before midnight. David Lam Park is located on the corner of Pacific Blvd and Drake Street in downtown Vancouver.
