INTERNeX Canada: News/Fun Facts

The most renowned hotel in all of Victoria is famous for more than one reason.  Did you know that there is an urban legend claiming that several ghosts haunt the Empress hotel?

The hotel was built in 1908 and it has been said that spirits from this era have been spotted on numerous occasions.  Several visitors and staff all claim that they have seen a thin man with a mustache who fits the description of the architect who designed the hotel as well as the Parliament buildings in Victoria.  However this male ghost is not haunting the halls of the Empress alone.  It has also been said that a female ghost haunts the 6th floor, she will knock on your door and you will open it to a perplexed woman in her pajamas.

I don’t know about you, but I think that is some pretty spooky stuff.  Maybe while you guys are visiting Victoria you can take a walk through the Empress and see if you are able to spot any of our phantom friends.

Halloween at Vancouver Aquarium!

4D The Curse of Skull Rock

Halloween is being celebrated throughout Canada.  Now, at the Vancouver Aquarium, they are celebrating their own version with an under the water event.  Called Spooky Seas, the theme features newly landed pirates that have taken over the aquarium, and they are taking you aboard their ship.

Vancouver Aquarium also has an exclusive Skulls, Bones, and Creeps of the Deep exhibit which takes place in an underwater dolphin exhibit.  The underwater exhibit displays the skeletons and skulls of killer whales, dolphins, sea lions, and many creatures found under the ocean.  Here, you can come face-to-face with these animals, without the fear of being eaten alive!

Most of us have heard of 3D, but have you ever heard of 4D? 4D stands for the fourth dimension.  It is a combination of 3D with physical effects, stimulating your senses.  In addition to seeing eye-popping visual effects, you also literally “go along for the ride”, as you feel your chair moving and swerving with the waves of the pirate ship, and feel the mist and spray of the ocean in your hair.

Lastly, there is a scavenger hunt where you could possibly find some of the treasures the pirates have left behind!

This event takes place from October 15-31, 2010.
