Star Wars: In Concert coming to Canada!

5 years after the final episode, Star Wars is back!! Fans of the Star Wars movies can enjoy the music during Star Wars: In Concert. The tour, which started in October 2009, is finally coming to Canada! The Canadian Tour will start tonight at the General Motors Place in Vancouver and will go to places such as Edmonton, Calgary and London(ONT)!

Star Wars: In Concert is a unique event that combines John William’s unforgettable music, performed by a live symphony orchestra and chorus, with specially edited footage for all six Star Wars Films.  Actor Anthony Daniels, for the Star Wars fans better know as C-3PO, will introduce each segment of the two-hour show, guiding you through the Star Wars story in a fresh an exciting way. John William, the creator of the Star Wars music, won the best-original- score at the 1978 Academy Awards. He was also nominated for the same award for The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Return of the Jedi (1983).
“ We’ve taken the key themes from the music and cut together all the images that fit with each theme, so you can really get a sense of how the music played into the images,” said George Lucas, creator of the Star Wars Saga. “
Besides the concert, you can also enjoy an exclusive exhibit of Star Wars costumes, props, artifacts, production artworks and specially created behing-the-scenes videos from the LucasFilm Archives. Many of these pieces are leaving Skywalker Ranch for the first time. The exhibit features many classic fan favorit artifacts, as well as several new, never before seen items, such as:
–          Full costumes for Jedi Masters Kit Fisto and Plo Koon
–          Never before seen props from the films, including blasters and helmets from Coruscant, Tatooine and other iconic Star Wars locations.
The show tours throughout Canada, to see show dates and locations, click here.

Tinseltown-Dinner & A Movie Anyone?

So looking for something to do this weekend!? Well there are lots of parties to go to this long weekend…but if you don’t think you can make it through all four nights partying, then maybe a a dinner and a movie might be a good way to spend one of the nights. And I can think of more than a few movies that might be of interest. If you guys haven’t already been to Tinseltown Cinemark (located at 88 West Pender Street) then you’ve been missing out! This theater has the city’s most comfortable seats ever and some of the best priced tickets too (if you go on a Tuesday Night, which is Cheap Movie Night, then you can watch a movie for just $8.75…can’t get much better than that!). Some of the movies that are headlining down at Tinseltown are…

“Green Zone”, featuring the dreamy Matt Damon or if you are looking for something a little more lighthearted perhaps “The Bounty Hunter” starring Jennifer Aniston & Gerard Butler. Two movies that are actually premiering this Friday are “Max Manus” which is actually a Norwegian film that tells the true story of one of Europe’s most celebrated World War II-era resistance fighters. And then other movie premiering is “Repo Men” which has an all star cast, including Jude Law, Forest Whitaker, Liev Schreiber etc

So if any of those sound interesting or you want to check out all of the over movies playing around Vancouver check out this amazing website!
