PuB NiGHT Review: Steamworks

Wow, I think that was a new record last night. After 30 minutes into PuB NiGHT, 90% of the seats at our table were already full! So many of you showed up, new and old faces – it couldn’t have been any better. Last night’s PuB NiGHT was at Steamworks Brewpub. Located in Gastown, the pub offers a variety of self-brewed beers as well as many cocktails. And for the hungry ones, delicious food like burgers, pizza and salads can be found on the menu.

Everyone has a drink? Good. Skål! The Swedish part of the group knew how to motivate everyone to have another sip of their tasty drink. And so, after raising our glasses, we continued the conversations we just had. There were so many people at yesterday’s PuB NiGHT, I decided to change my seat several times so I could have a chat and laugh with as many of you as possible.

Oh look, it’s already 11.30pm. Time for those that have to work early the next day to go home. And for the rest: Well, we decided to make a detour to the Bourbon before it was time to go to bed. Reggae music was being played by a live band and the atmosphere was relaxed. The beer pong table was free and ready to be used. Eirik and Kerstin vs. Linus and me. Unfortunately, my team lost. But we had no reason to hang our head. There will be a next time and then, we’ll win!

I hope to see many of your faces this Saturday at the Earth Day Parade!

Review: PuB NiGHT at Steamworks

Yesterday we went to Steamworks for PuB NiGHT and we had a great night! Thank you all for coming!

Steamworks is a really cool brewpub at Waterfront. They make their own beers and you can definitely see that in the pub. The pub is way bigger then you would think when you’re standing outside and we were located downstairs.

Some of you went to the Whitecaps game before PuB NiGHT, so in the beginning we were just a little group on a very big table. It did give us the chance to catch up and some people signed up for the upcoming Rockies trip. Because Steamworks is a brewpub they have a lot of different beers and everyone was trying something out. Personally I chose a beer cocktail named Oompa Loompa and it was amazing! After the game the rest joined us and we were once again the big group that we are used to.

Thanks for coming and we hope to see you this weekend or next PuB NiGHT!

Review: PuB NiGHT at Steamworks

A lot of you guys came to PuB NiGHT at Steamworks yesterday and it was amazing to share our stories from the Rockies trip. So thank you all for coming!

The pub is much larger than you would think when you’re standing outside. They have a downstairs area too with different seating areas and pool tables. Definitely a place to come back to.

Everybody came in early, which was great. Some of us decided to start off with a hot chocolate and others tried some cool drinks. We spend most of our night catching up on what everybody did during their long Easter weekend and we told them what we did in the Rockies. You can read these stories on the blog.

We hope to see you at the Vancouver Riptide game!

PuB NiGHT Review

“You Fat Bastard!” is what all the Whitecaps supporters yell to disturb the opponent’s goalkeeper.
Yesterday we collaborated together with International House, a language school we work closely with and went to see a CONCACAF game. It was the Vancouver Whitecaps vs Olimpia from Honduras.

First, we met with the language school students. It was quite interesting and it didn’t take long for everyone’s curiosity to get the better of them and mingle.
After growing into this big group we made our way to Doolin’s Irish Pub there we met the manager of International House who was just as excited to see the game as the rest of us. At Doolin’s we drunk a quick pint of beer before we all marched together with many other Whitecaps supporters to BC Place who were beating drums and cheering all the way there.

Finally following our arrival at the stadium and getting our seats in the supporter’s corner the game began. The Whitecaps were dominating the game from the beginning but only in the 42nd minute were they able to score a goal through Kianz Froese! 1-0 for the Whitecaps! And the fans cheered with all their might.

For the second half the Vancouver soccer team decided to play a little more defensive. However this gave Olimpia more chances which made the game even more exciting than the first 45 minutes. There were some pretty close calls but luckily the Whitecaps were able to keep the score and leave the stadium as winners.

In the meantime many of our other INTERNeXers gathered together for the “Alternative Pub Night” organized by Steve. We joined them at Steamworks after the game and brought along some of the students from International House.

It was an awesome night with lots of fun and excitement!
See you next time!

Cheers

Review: Pub Night @ Steamworks

First of all: Thanks to everyone who showed up yesterday! I was really happy to see you one more time 🙂
Yesterday we went for my “Goodbye Pub Night” to Steamworks.
Since our large table was downstairs and the Steamworks is bigger than expected, it was a bit tricky to get there.

At last everyone got it and we could enjoy food and drinks which was pretty good.
The Steamworks is worth visiting and if you are going to visit it, don’t miss the girl-washroom , hihi…… It’s really funny, you can share the toilette with your best friend. Come oooooon, that was always our dream, right??? Have a look at the picture 😀
View more pictures here.

I had a great last Pub Night, thank you guys!

Wish you still an amazing time here in Vancouver:) Enjoy it!

Don’t forget to sign up for the FlyOver Canada on Saturday and for the Halloween Party next Friday.
