Year Review – Part 1

Finally a new Blogpost. I know you must miss the daily INTERNeX Blogpost incredibly over the holidays. And because we don’t want you to be too heartbroken, we have something very special prepared for you in the upcoming days:
As the year of 2019 is coming to an end, this is the perfect opportunity to take a look at what happened the past year. There were truly some great highlights and events, that made the year 2019 very special. So we should take a closer look at the past months and thank everybody who made it as special as it was.

First of all, we have to point out, what a great group of people joined the INTERNeX family this year. So many who decided to spent this very outstanding time in their life along side of INTERNeX, thanks for being as great as you are. We are sure the experiences you made here in Canada (or the ones you will be making) will stay for a lifetime!
Furthermore we had a great group of PR-Coordinators making everything possible, organizing trips and events and just making this time unforgettable. And of course, thanks to the partners of ours that also put in a big impact of this very successful year!
img-20190302-wa0043-1-e1552434605363.jpgThe year started with Jasmin, coming all the way from Finland and taking over the job of the first PR-Coordinator in 2019. Starting from there we had a lot of stuff coming up, to keep everyone busy and well entertained. Thank you for doing a great job. Unfortunately I never got to meet you in person, but I heard many stories :-D. You will never be forgotten <3.
As the weeks passed by there was one major highlight coming up. img_20190317_123723-e1552952465741.jpgThe INTERNeX-crew made their way to Seattle, to smell some American Air for a change. Together with West-Trek the INTERNeXer got to leave Vancouver and see one of the most beautiful cities ever (right behind Vancouver of course ;)). Since I am only summarizing this, you are more than welcome to check out the whole story around it, the following link, will bring youright away to the post about it (https://internexcanada.wordpress.com/2019/03/18/how-was-your-weekend-91/). Last but not least, the INTERNeXer got to attend a very special event in Vancouver. img_20190323_173411-e1553560515397.jpgThe Fashion Week, and I am not talking about just any Fashion Week, but THE Fashion Week. If you are all about it, this was definitely a very exciting event. As the year continuous any other highlights were just waiting ahead.
More photos will always be provided on the Instagram profile, so just in case you are not one of our followers yet, make sure to do so >> internexcanada 🙂

Our journey through 2019 will continue soon.

Until then, I hope you are having a great time and Happy Holiday everyone!

PuB NiGHT Review: The Relish

“Beer for $3!” – That was just one of the incentives for you to come to our PuB NiGHT yesterday at The Relish. Other motives to show up were meeting old and new faces, talking about past and present stories and of course our upcoming events, one of them being the Rockies Trip in the beginning of August (don’t forget to sign up 😉).37347243_1810162252410130_169073642464870400_n

The four of us were at The Relish quite early, so we saved a nice table outside. Betting on who will be the first person to show up, none of us had one of the “newcomers” in mind. But it was even better that Oliwer showed up first, this way we had the chance to get to talk to him and get to know him better.

So, we had the chance to welcome a new face in our round: Oliwer. He showed us his artistic talent and even decorated Nadine’s hand with an interesting drawing. Unfortunately, it was also time to say goodbye: Gus spent his last PuB NiGHT with us yesterday.

As usual the hours passed by very fast. We had a discussion on how to pronounce “scone” correctly: Does it rhyme with cone or gone? Well, there does not seem to be a real answer to that question, even in the UK the public opinion is polarized. Apparently, none of the two pronunciations are wrong or right.

After we finished our last glasses of beer and the waitress brought the bill, some of us decided to pay a visit to the Met, while the other half made their way home. Some songs and beers later, even the last ones decided to take the bus/train home and a fun evening came to an end.

I hope you had a nice evening as well and I am looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday for our trip to Deep Cove!

PuB NiGHT Review: Portside Pub

Wednesday nights are our favourite one’s! Why? Because it is PuB NiGHT of course! Every week, we are meeting at another place in Vancouver to enjoy a fun evening together.

Yesterday, we were welcomed at the Portside Pub in Gastown. As the name might tell you already, this pub gives you the feeling of sitting in a cozy boat while drinking a beer and sailing on the big, wild sea. The chairs around our table were taken quickly, so it was time to share the newest stories about placements, work, future travel plans, the annoying roommate or the lovely host mom. It is always fascinating how much we actually have in common, even though we are all coming from different parts of the world.

After a while of chatting, the serious part of the night started: karaoke. The lyrics were projected on a big screen, so everyone could sing along with the brave person behind the microphone at the front of the pub. (So it was actually not that serious.) The star of the night: Julian who surprised the crowd with the song “To love somebody”. Wow, that was amazing!

The rest of the night passed by quickly with singing and dancing along to great performances. And one, maybe even two freshly tapped beers. However, at the end of the night we found ourselves not back on sea, but in beautiful Gastown. Luckily!

Keep your chins up, soon it will be weekend again! I hope to see you on Sunday for a tour behind the scenes at the Rogers Arena.
