What to do on the Weekend?

Another Friday has come around and I would love to let you know the exciting things we have happening here at INTERNeX.

As you might have seen on our Facebook page that the weather wasn’t really in our hands this week so we have had to have a few changes but don’t worry!! Ice Skating on Robson – Square will be happening on Sunday, another great way to enjoy winter in Vancouver. Saturday predicts some showers but Sunday looks like it may just be overcast (what more to expect from winter in the beautiful Canada ahah).

For those looking forward to Skiing, it has been rescheduled to 14th of December.

As one of my first weekend events I’m very excited to spend it Ice Skating with the christmasy atmosphere of beautiful Vancouver. In Australia it is about 31 degrees at the moment and yes, we do spend out Christmas day in our bikinis. This is my second Christmas in the winter and I love it. I hope you all share the same excitement as me and will hold my hand as we have a romantic time trying not to fall over.

However that’s not all that happening for me over the weekend, I will be checking out the Christmas markets if you would also like to check them out they are open from 11:30AM to 9:30PM so I will most likely be filling up on egg nog (a new discovery of mine that I have fallen in love with). A bit of history around it, its the 10th annual authentic German-inspired Christmas Markets where there will be traditional food and beverages, live entertainment and the opportunity to ride downtown Vancouver’s only Christmas Carousel. Don’t forget to buy your tickets online (adult is $12.99, Youth is $6.99).

If you are looking for a bit more of a romantic evening then I would suggest Stanley park, since Bright Nights has been available for the public. If you love Christmas lights then you will not be disappointed if you go.

Wishing you all the best for the weekend and make the most of it 🙂

xoxo

How was your Weekend?

Time is flying by! How is it already Monday again?
I actually used this weekend to explore Vancouver’s nightlife again. On Friday I went to the Cambie, I had a great time even though we didn’t get to play beer-pong this time. Instead we didn’t leave the dancefloor once ;-).

On Saturday Tom hosted a go-away party! We got to spend some precious time together having a few drinks and pizza! Even though this means, the INTERNeX group will loose a precious member very soon. I hope you had a great time with us Tom and you will be visiting again very soon. We will miss you so much! In case you haven’t attended on Saturday, there is probably another chance to say goodbye at Wednesday’s PuB-Night. Thank you very much for a great night Tom and for being such an important member of our group. And yes of course,  he gets to be mentioned in this blogpost, since he is probably the most loyal reader – it is appreciated :-D. IMG_4727.JPG

On Sunday the INTERNeX crew went out to explore a “part of Canadian history”. We went to the Olympic Experience all the way in Richmond.  The Olympic Experience provides many different simulations of different sports. Since we were almost the only guests around, we were really lucky to get he stuffs full attention. Basically we went skiing, ski-jumping, on a bobsleigh, rowing, car racing and many more on the real olympic tracks.
I have to admit, some of the stuff left me behind with a weird feeling in my tummy :-D. I’d be not very successful at the Olympic games, I guess. IMG_4725.JPG
My personal highlight was actually the hockey game we got to see, right where the magic happened in 2010. And this game turned out to be quite intense. Well at least if you are just used to watching soccer, I guess ;-).

Thanks again for a great weekend guys!

See you this Wednesday at the Moose’s Down Under!

Cheers,

–Nadja

What to do on the weekend ?

Hello boys and girls!

Another week is over, so we will check out what is going on in Vancouver this weekend. It seems that the weather will not be so good (Saturday cloudy/sunny, Sunday rain), but this would not stop our activities.

All of you should know, that there is the Vancouver Dragon Boat Festival from Friday, June 21 to Sunday, June 23. The huge three-day event will take place around the creek at Concord Pacific Place, Creekside, and of course, in the waters.  The city´s biggest Dragon Boat celebration will also feature live music, entertainment, food, shopping, family fun, and local artisans.  It is definitely worth a visit! There will be no entry fee.

In addition to that the International Jazz Festival 2019 takes place this weekend in Downtown Vancouver. If you are interested in Jazz music, you should come to the Robson Square. The festival lasts two days, namely on the 22nd and 23rd June. You don´t have to pay for a lot of concerts. On both days different musicians are going to perform between 12pm and 9pm. To see the exact entry-free concert program, look at the website www.vancouversbestplaces.com .

Finally I want to remind you of our INTERNeX event on Sunday. We have planned a Barbecue at the Spanish Banks Beach. If you look at the current weather report, there will be rain on Sunday. And a Barbecue in the rain is definitely not fun.

Due to that we will go out for Burger eating all together. We reserved a table on Sunday, the 23rd June at the White Spot (405 Dunsmuir St, Vancouver, BC V6B 1X4) at 6pm.

We would be very happy if a lot of you come along for eating burgers with us. 48002939878_390603280c_o.jpeg

Those who have already paid for the BBQ can either pick up their money in the INTERNeX office or get it back at the dinner on Sunday.

Enjoy your weekend☺

How was your weekend?

Our Sunny weekend is behind us. Vancouver really treated us well during the past week and I really hope that this great weather continues. On Sunday the INTERNeX gang was enjoying the sun by hiking at Lighthouse Park.

dav

Lighthouse Park is located in West Vancouver about 40min bus drive away from downtown. On Sunday we met at 1pm in front of Burrard station and took the bus 250 to Horseshoe Bay. Around 2pm we arrived at the park and started the hike, which was a pretty easy one. Lighthouse Park has many different trails so there is something for everyone.

We chose to do the Beacon Lane one, which takes you straight to the Lighthouse lookouts. After the lookouts we found our way to a nice spot on the rocks next to the water where we had our snack break. The sun was out and we decided to chill a bit more and just enjoy the beautiful view. After our tanning session we continued our hike. We took a different trail back. I don’t remember the name of it but it went through the forest and took us back to the beginning.img_20190428_153606.jpg

The day was great and relaxing. Thanks for everyone who showed up! See you on Wednesday at Malone’s for our PuB NiGHT.

What to do on the weekend?

Most wanted time of the week is here and we have some plans made up for you guys. This weekend is a bit special one since we are organizing two different events. I hope everyone can find something they like out of this weekend ☺

A one must go event is happening already tonight. It is time to see who is the competitive one, who wants to win and who is a bad looser. It is time to test our friendships and see who has luck (or skills) in games tonight. So what time is it? It’s Game Night time of course! We will start the Game Night at the INTERNeX office around 6pm. If you can’t make it till then don’t worry, you can join whenever you feel like it. We will have a blast for sure and might continue the night somewhere after.

On Sunday we are doing something I’m super excited for. The INTERNeX gang is going to Escape Room! There is a huge group of us going and we are doing three different rooms. Lets see who gets out first (or if anyone). Some of the rooms are scarier than others and I chose to go to the scariest one where you actually start the game with your one hand handcuffed into the wall. I’d say scary and exciting. We’ll see how I feel about it after Sunday. For the Escape Room people: We will meet at the Locked Canada 1050 Kingsway at 6.45 pm. Please be on time since the rooms won’t wait.

Enjoy your weekend and hope to see many of you guys tonight!
