INTERNeX Canada: Smart Saver Vancouver!

Hi there! Most of you know that Vancouver is an expensive city.. For that reason we search for the best places to get deals or cheaper prices. This makes your stay a little bit more comfortable and affordable! 😉 

Today I want to talk about a super cheap store: NoFrills. If you think that some of the big supermarkets like Safeway or WalMart are to expensive? Try this one!

What do you think about 2 liter soft drinks like Cola or Fanta for only 88ct? But there is a lot more.. Different flavors of Potato Chips for 97ct, Hershey’s Or Cadbury Chocolate for 67ct and Loacker Biscuits for $1,97! 

These are not the only discounts. If you have some time go check it out! You will like (the prices) for sure!

The closest locations around downtown Vancouver are: NoFrills West Broadway & NoFrills West 4th Avenue

INTERNeX Canada: Smart Save Vancouver

Ok, all the people know, Vancouver is an expensive city. But with our “Smart Saver” guide, you can take notes about our little tips to keep your budget safe. Today, we are going to talk about cheap places to buy souvenirs.

In every trip there are three fundamental things to do:

–       Enjoy and try to visit the most places as possible

–       Take pictures to show to the people how amazing is your trip

–       Buy souvenirs for the family and friends

But sometimes souvenirs can be really expensive… and a lot of people usually wait to the last moment, inside the airport, to buy gifts. But come on, this is not very correct and you know that.

But firstly, which kind of souvenir are more commons?

–       A cap or a t-shirt with Canada written on it.

–       Something with a maple leaf

–       Something with a reindeer or a bear

–       Something with the Canadian Flag

And secondly, where can you go to buy them?

Canada Store: It’s a super cheap supermarket. There is some cool stuff that you can buy there! And after Canada Day they have amazing discounts, so take advantage of them!

It’s impossible to find in Downtown, but you can check the different locations here.

But if this store is pretty far away for you, there a lot of shops in Downtown. Water Street (Downtown) is a fantastic place to buy souvenirs!

INTERNeX Canada: Culture shock

Have you ever noticed how many different pills are in general in the supermarkets? All types of supplements, vitamins, minerals….

If you want to have bigger muscles, you can. If you want to get tan artificially, you can. If your hair is weak you can buy something to make it stronger! For all kind of problems, Canadians have millions of different pills! It’s insane!

I mean in Spain you can find some places where you can buy this kind of supplements, but it’s not usually to have so many in a regular Supermarket.

Now I am kind of used to see all this kind of pills next to the bread and cookies…mm good combination sugar and pills to lose weight!

I have to recognize that I am becoming Canadian and I have my own armament of vitamins… Now the next important step to do is remind to take them!

Sometimes it’s a good idea to take them, for example now in winter with just a couple of hours of sunlight could be good to take some vitamin D. But always with common sense (that sense that is not common to have)

INTERNeX Canada: Casual friday- Ay, mum!

I love weekend, I ´ve always loved them…but here in Vancouver is not just the free days to go out and have fun, not at all. Of course I go out and I have fun, but my Canadians weekends are also the proper moment to spend some time doing that kind of boring things that you never find time for, such as the laundry.

I´ve never find time to go on the week days, because after working I arrive so tired at home that the last thing I want to do is something related with cleaning staff.

The first time I went to the laundry I was kind of scared…cold? Warm? Hot? Mum!!! I need you! It´s sad and embarrassing at the same time not having any idea of how to do the laundry, but that´s the kind of things that you don´t learn if you don´t live alone.

In that moment is when you thing… if I am so tired when I arrive home after work  and I am not able no to do anything…how can my mother have her job and work at home as well?

Mmm… let me think…Yeah I know the answer..

Mothers are superwomen; they can work, cook, clean, go to the supermarket, do the iron… They can do EVERYTHING… and without forgetting the most important think, be your mother and love you.

It´s impressive! I have to recognize that I don´t help her as much as I should…and you realize that when you are living on your own and you have to do all that kind of staff that your poor mother does without any help.

So please, just one hour less of facebooking and one hour more of housekeeping to help that person that gives you your life!
