How was your weekend?

Friday 9 pm. We were sitting in the park. Waiting for the party to begin. Only ten minutes left. Our tickets work, we are in. The party can start. That was the moment my weekend could finally begin.

This Friday we went to DubVision, a party in the Harbour Event Centre. DubVision is a DJ duo from the Netherlands. We went in with our free tickets we received. When we walked in around 11:30 pm, the club was still not that crowded. We bought a drink and the club was becoming more crowded. There were two DJs playing nice music, but we still don’t know if that were guys or girls. There was another DJ playing music before DubVision was on stage. After a couple hours we went home.

Rise and shine, next day has arrived. After all the stuff I needed to do, we went to the sushi bar to eat sushi together. Afterwards we took the skytrain to Granville street where the pub crawl began. We first went to the Cinema Public House, where we began the night with a drink. After 45 minutes it was time to go to the Morrissey, where we sat on the couch singing German songs. So now we had the Oktoberfest part from the pub crawl. We went to Donnellans where we had our own space with tables and bar. We closed the night in the club Belmont Bar. After we danced our asses of, it was time to say goodbye.

Sunday was a lazy day. We went to a jazz thing in a church. After 30 minutes we saw it all, so we decided to go for a coffee at Take Five. Tip: the coffee with Caramel and Sea salt is actually salty. We sat and talked till it was time to go home for dinner. Hope your weekend was great as well.

See you at PuB NiGHT!

PR-team adventures

About one and a half week ago I went on a little trip together with Iris and Merle. Although it was only a two-day trip, it felt like I’ve been away for at least a week and our time there was great!

So where did we go? Well a few weeks ago I wrote how great my first surf experience was and I totally fell in love with it, so I decided to do it again: destination Tofino. I was lucky that Iris and Merle also wanted to have this experience and we were able to go together.

19642812_10203284236822460_5645433533691633944_n24th of June, 6 AM: I was standing at the bus stop with only three hours of sleep and a little hungover from my barbecue party the night before. Once I saw the girls and our tour bus from Discover Canada Tours, I felt kind of alive again and I was good to go. According to our fantastic tour guide we had a full day of planning on our way to Tofino. So we took the ferry to Nanaimo, drove to Tofino and made a few stops in between. We saw some big trees and a beautiful spot along the river.

Good thing; it was super warm and shiny weather, bad thing; our air-conditioning didn’t 19554676_10203284237262471_9110746863512227894_nwork. Sweaty kids in the back of the bus, but still laughing our asses of from all the stupid jokes that came from our overheated brains. Besides that I must say our tour guide did a great job with keeping us entertained by covering Lady gaga, Adele and even Queen. Along with great dance moves we were very amused.

When we arrived in Tofino, we had free time and I showed the girls around the city (actually only two streets since Tofino is not that big). Of course I ended up at a boutique buying some vintage clothes while I really promised myself I was not going to buy any clothes that month, whoops. After that we went to a sushi restaurant that had an amazing view over the inner harbour. Unfortunately the sushi was not that great, but the company and the view made it a good experience.

19554292_10203284237822485_5670989559610156534_nOur tour guide picked us up and brought us to the hotel. We took a quick shower since we were melting away in the bus the entire day, and made ourselves ready for the campfire on the beach. I still can’t really believe this since there were quite some guys on the trip, but I lit the campfire (yay me). Here we finally got the chance to meet the others from the bus and we had some really nice conversations. We enjoyed the amazing sunset and the fire went on for hours. This really is one of my favourite nights in Canada because Tofino kind of became my happy place. We had good company and a stunning sunset, what do you want more?

The next day, after three hours of sleep again, it was time for our surf lesson. Surf Sister gave 19702223_10203284239262521_6492473239970302674_nthe lesson and in my opinion they did an amazing job. First they explained a lot about the ocean and how it works with surfing and then, after some practise on the beach, we took our boards into the water. I could really feel my previous lesson helped me since standing up became easier. In the end I even did a 180!

Because it takes a lot of energy we went lunching in town afterwards, together with our new friend from the bus. With full stomachs we took the Tonquin trail to Tonquin Beach, hoping to spot wales. Unfortunately we didn’t see any, but we did see Eagles flying in a scenic view. We had a great time chilling there and before we knew, it was time to get back to the bus and head to Nanaimo.

Sweaty kids in the back of the bus again, I guess it was even worse then the day before, but we made our way to Nanaimo. On the ferry we were able to enjoy the sunset and we went on a little whale hunt again. I guess we weren’t very lucky with the whales that weekend, since we didn’t see them around. We saw a dolphin though, which was really cool too!

Back at Canada Place we said our goodbyes and we all went home. The days after were pretty hectic since I met up with people from the trip, which was really fun! Now everybody is back to their daily routine, but the trip will remain a great memory.

Smart Saver

It’s Sunday again, which means another Smart Saver! As you may notice we, here at the office, love sushi. So it should not come as a surprise to you that we have another sushi smart saver.

Fujiya
is a store in the Bental tower on 1050 west pender street. The store offers a variety of Japanse food, such as sushi boxes, bento and fish boxes. And this all for a very low price, the cheapest sushi box starts at $2.95 and you get 9 pieces for it! Can’t get any better.

This place is great for your lunch, the sushi’s are freshly made every day and packed in to go boxes. For those not living in downtown, there are different stores in the area of greater Vancouver, even in Victoria. For more location click here.

Hope you will enjoy your sushi and we might see us at the Fujiya store soon 🙂

Smart Saver

Guess what… we found another great cheap place for sushi with over 150 different meals to choose from. Are you already wondering were you can find this great place?

The Fumiyoshi sushi is located on 538 West Pender Street. It is verily quite in there, which makes the services faster. It is also great for lunch, they have extra lunch items which are ready in now time and come for as low as $8.50. And of course free unlimited tea is served by every dish.

My (Alexandra) favorite is Roll Combo #2 (18pcs, Tuna, salmon ad cucumber) for $6.95. The Vegetarian rolls are also very good and fill you up. If you do not want to eat there, just order take out. For more information visit their website by clicking here.

Enjoy your Sushi!

Smart Saver Vancouver

It’s Smart Saver time. This time the Smart Saver is for all who love sushi and want to enjoy it without having the trouble of making it. We found for you guys a nice place called Momo, where you can eat sushi, but also noodles, chicken teriyaki and more.

Momo is located in Gastown (375 Water Street). The restaurant itself is fairly small, which makes it cozy. However you can also order take out. They offer great portions of food for a really decent price, for example the price for a big sushi box incl. Miso soup, rice and green salad are $7.50. Also you get a Jasmin tea for free.

For our PuB NiGHT on St. Paddy’s Day on Monday the 17th of March check this blog out.

PS: our next PuB NiGHT is on Thuesday 11th

Enjoy your meal!

INTERNeX Canada: Smart Save Vancouver

Really guys, the new office is The Place to find cheap deals. If the last week Mercedes gave us some amazing discounts inside the mall, today I want to show you a little secret that you can discover just in the next corner (Abbott with Keefer).

I’m talking about the T&T, an Asian supermarket with a lot of food to take away. You can find a wide range of Japanese food… (Seaweed salad is something delicious). The prices are normally really good, but only a few people know that, between 7 and 9 PM, they make discounts between 20%-50%.

Maybe is not the best idea keep that food for the next night but for if you have to buy dinner in Downtown… it’s a good option.

Definitely, Vancouver is the place for the sushi-lovers. It’s the only thing that is cheaper than in Europe, I guess. Due to the importance of the Asian culture in our city, and the large amount of competitors, in our lovely Van it’s possible to find sushi for a really good price. If you haven’t tried it yet, this is the moment.

Syokuji wo Tanoshinde!!

Clara.

INTERNeX Canada: Smart Saver Vancouver

Moving to an office located in a mall  can be an advantage for example when you find very nice restaurants and deals. (I know is pretty hard not to buy anything when you love to shop or so), but today I’m gonna tell you about a few interesting things I’ve found in Tinseltown – International Village.

It’s true that we have inside of Tinseltown a lot of cheap places where you can eat a huge variety of food: from Chinese to Mexican, all of them cheap and nice food but there are a few places that I specially recommend.

The first one is for lovers of Asian food: There is a restaurant called “Zen Kenit” in the second floor , where you can get a “all you can eat lunch” for $9.95. (This all you can eat mixes Asian cuisine, for example Chinese, and also Sushi) For the price the quality is really good, so it’s forth it !!

But if you don’t like Asian cuisine, I’ve found  another interesting offer for you. Quite close to the first Asian restaurant that I’ve told you there is a Mexican one called “TacoTime“.

In this nice restaurant every Tuesday the taco costs just $0.99 (You can choose between taco meat, or a veggie one). I’m pretty sure that this deal in unbeatable.

I hope you can try these amazing restaurants, and I wish you a great week!

Best,

Mercedes
