PuB NiGHT Review!

IMG_0011Yesterday we went to Blarney Stone, a classic Irish pub in Gastown, for our weekly pub night.

As soon as you step inside, you’ll be welcomed by a cozy and relaxing atmosphere.

The place and the service were really nice, and the drinks were not pricey (as I announced, $4 Pints, Highballs and shooters and $2 sliders) Not a bad deal, right?

By the way, I tried the sliders and yam fries and they were really tasty!

INTERNeX Canada: Casual Friday!

1657_10151370372966850_287530237_nOne thing I will miss working as a PR intern is being able to make friends with people from all different places in the world. Actually not only that but also being able to learn about their culture, right at home, instead of going to a different country.

I’ve learned so much from everyone that I have met during my internship! For example, the most delicious dutch chocolate sprinkles is called Hagelslag, and you sprinkle it on bread. It can be found in a local Dutch grocery store here! I am just in LOVE with this stuff -so tasty! Another thing I have learned is that there are so many different traditions for birthdays and holidays! For example in Denmark, you have to bring breakfast/food for your coworkers on the morning of your own birthday! Like what is that? Really? I think it should be the other way around, you should be pampered on your own birthday!

Of course you can find out these kind of information by searching on Google and reading up on it. But it’s just so much better when you can sit and have a conversation with a person from that country and learn through them.

I can’t believe my internship is coming to an end in just a few days! Join us tonight at our pub and club night, it will be held at Morrissey Pub and then partying it up at VENUE! Click here for more information (remember to bring your PASSPORTS!)

Cheers,

Flora

Treat your taste-buds with a cultural burst!

One more time and for you and your mouths pleasure we are having a PoTLuCK at the  Staffhouse on September the 19th.

– What is a PoTLuCK?,

– It’s a multicultural INTERNeX event! Everybody bring a dish, preferably from your own country and we make an international buffet!

I really love this event and my stomach too! When you ask people to bring a unique meal, they often try to bring something special and you’ll try meals you would never find at the restaurant. What an amazing opportunity for you and all our candidates! I can’t wait to discover all the delicious, crazy, surprising,  tasty dishes you will cook!

Everything always taste better when it’s home made and especially when  it’s cooked with love, and you have the pride to share something from your own country!

For my part, I will not bring frog legs and snails, sorry to disappoint you! I am still hesitating between, crepes, ratatouille and riz-au-lait (a dessert with rice and milk)!

We will grab our forks at 6:30 pm and to avoid doubles, let us know what you are cooking at pr@internexcanada.com or during our events.

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory

Even the name sounds delicious. This store is amazing… but if you have a history of cavities or an upcoming dentist appointment – stay away from this place! Why? See for yourself.

This place could be your worst nightmare or your heaven on earth. If you’re like me… somedays it may be deadly to walk in here! I can be quite an impulsive shopper on an empty stomach. When I visited this store the other day, I walked out with an Apple Pie Caramel apple. It was absolutely divine! Everyone should visit this store while in Vancouver! They do have shops in other cities, but come on! Just look at all the goodies!

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory is an international franchisor, confectionery manufacturer and retail operator in the United States, Canada and the United Arab Emirates. The Company is based in the charming old-west town of Durango located on the western slope of the Rocky Mountains in southwestern Colorado. From its 53,000 square foot factory, the Company manufactures an extensive line of premium chocolate candies and other confectionery products to supply its many franchise locations, delivered fresh by its fleet of refrigerated trucks.

The factory typically produces approximately 300 chocolate candies and other confectionery products, using proprietary recipes developed primarily by its master candy maker. These products include many varieties of clusters, caramels, creams, meltaways, truffles and molded chocolates. Individual stores prepare a variety of caramel and candy apples, fudge, chocolate items and confections in full view of the customer using traditional cooking utensils such as copper kettles on gas-fired stoves and marble slab cooling tables.

Neat huh? I’ll leave you with a few more pictures. If you would like to visit their website, click here! The location I visited was at 1017 Robson Street. They even had cute little piggy candy apples. They also serve fudge, ice cream and truffles. If you’re good you’ll show up just in time for samples 😉 …

That’s all for now guys! Gotta jet, I’m hungry…
