INTERNeX Toronto: Toronto Zombie Walk!

I’ve got a question for you: What kind of streets do zombies like best? ………… a DEAD end!

Okay fine, that was a horrible joke that I found off Google, but there is exactly two weeks left til’ Halloween! Watching an abundance of horror movies lately have led me to thinking how it would be like if a zombie apocalypse actually happened in the very streets of your my city? Being stuck in a dead end would be quite awful.

This Saturday at the Toronto Zombie Walk, you can re-create the terror you’ve seen in 28 Days Later or Resident Evil and try to stay uneaten while zombies weave their way through downtown Toronto. Or, you can become one of the 7000 corpses staggering through the streets in trying to find humans to feast on.

Started by a small group of friends in 2003, this year is the 10th anniversary of the Toronto Zombie Walk. Not only has it been a massive success in Toronto, but the zombie plague has also caught on in other cities such as New York, Vancouver, Ottawa and Melbourne.

This is a completely FREE event, and what is a better way to get into the Halloween spirit than by dressing up and acting like a crazy delusional zombie. Where else can you do this with thousands of people? Register here to be entered for a draw afterwards! This is a full day event, with live band performances afterwards.

When? Saturday, October 20th 2012

Where? Nathan Phillips Square
100 Queen Street West
Bay Street and Queen Street West
Map to this event

How to get there? Public Transit: Osgoode or Queen Subway Station
TTC Trip Planner

Take a look at last year’s event and for some inspiration for your zombie attire!

Cheers,

Queenie

Ride the Ghost Train

Ride aboard the Ghost Train!

Since I am a BIG fan of Halloween, I love writing about the many events happening around Vancouver and nearby cities that you can participate in to test how brave you are in the face of terror.

I went aboard Stanley Park’s Ghost Train last year, and it was a very fun experience!

This year, the theme is “Alice in Nightmareland”.  Of course, if you are familiar with Disney’s classic, “Alice in Wonderland”, you will know what kind of theme they are going with.  It will be Alice in Wonderland turned upside-down.

What does that mean?

You will follow the rabbit down the rabbit-hole, only this is deep into a nightmare and not a dream.  On your ghost train ride, you will encounter demonic playing cards, the evil and feisty queen who is always on the lookout, screaming “off with your head”!

Just remember to come out with your head intact in the process.

If you prefer to skip the train, there is also an illuminating assortment of lights and Halloween-themed displays.  In addition, you get access into the Haunted Farmyard.  In there, you will see all kinds of creatures, even live ones!
