See ya, bye!

It’s time to say goodbye. This makes me always sad therefore I prefer to say “See ya again” one day.
I’ve had an amazing time here in Vancouver and all of you’ve had a hand in it.
Thanks to all of you for making my time in Canada just incredible.
The time went by way too fast and I’m so sad that I have to leave already. On my first weekend(three months ago) I went to the Rockies and was impressed by the stunning nature of Canada. Since that moment I’ve started to love this country.
During my stay in Vancouver I’ve seen so many beautiful places like Vancouver Island, the Rockies, Whistler, Portland and Seattle.
One of my favourite trips was the hike to the Garibaldi Lake and the Panorama Ridge (33 km) in the Garibaldi Provincial Park. I was nearly dead after this hike but I’ve never seen something which is so breathtaking and gorgeous like this!!
I’ve never enjoyed my life as much as I did here.
You can’t beat this city – it’s possible to experience the big city life and the stunning beauty of nature at the same place.
A BIG THANK YOU to Mina and Tim for offering me the opportunity to do my practicum at INTERNeX. I’ve learned so much for my studies in Germany and especially for my life.
Another thank you goes to Henrik for introducing me in my new tasks at the PR-Department and supporting me all the time.
Last but not least – thank you to Lisa and Simon for the great and fun time in this office.

I’m going to miss Vancouver, Canada and ALL OF YOU way too much. For sure I’m going to come back some day.

Take care,

Sophie

Time to say goodbye…

Today it’s my last day at the INTERNeX office and I will end my 18-week internship at INTERNeX. Also that’s gonna be my final blog and I want to thank everybody for this awesome time here in Vancouver. During my 18-week internship I did awesome trips and activities but of course I also learned a lot of things, which are useful for my studies back home. That’s why I want to say a big THANK YOU to Tim and Simon. And of course thank you to Alexandra, Ole and well how can I forget him CRAZY Alex, you guys made my days in the office 🙂

During my time here in Vancouver I saw a lot’s of amazing places such as Whistler, the breathtaking Rockies, the surfer’s paradise Tofino and had an adventure trip to Chilliwack for White Water Rafting. Also the hike’s here around Vancouver are amazing, the Chief, Bowen Island and of course the Grouse Grind, which you have to do while you here in Vancouver.

It will be really strange to leave Vancouver, because right now it’s like a second home for me. All the amazing people I met here made this time one of my best expierences so far.  After my holidays in the USA I will start my last year at the Hochschule Munich but I’m motivated and ready to go for this last year and afterwards of course I start traveling to see more from the world.

I want to say thanks and good-bye to everyone who I met during my stay here, I had one of the best 18-weeks here, THANK YOU!!

Goodbye, Auf wiedersehen, Servus, Pfi’a de 🙂

Cheers,

Danie

INTERNeX Canada: Queenie says See you later!

As my journey at INTERNeX comes to an end, it’s time for my goodbye post and I’ll try to keep it as least sappy as possible.

But, where do I start? The past 5 months here at INTERNeX has an incredible adventure and that is an understatement. I have experienced so much more than I could have asked for when I first started here in September.

To be honest, I didn’t know what to expect. Having lived here my entire life, I especially didn’t expect that I would learn so much more about Vancouver than what I already know. I guess when you live here, you tend to do the same things and have the same routine all the time. I now have a new appreciation for what a beautiful and vibrant city Vancouver actually is.

INTERNeX has also taught me not to be afraid and just go for whatever comes my way. I’m not the most daring person ever, but INTERNeX has certainly changed that. Whether it was tacking different tasks at the office, jumping out of an airplane or dancing on the frozen Lake Louise, I can say that it was all worth it. Being put in different situations and doing things I’ve never done before has allowed me to grow up enormously.

Finally, everyone I have met here through INTERNeX has been nothing, but the best. To everyone in the office, thanks for all the help and support you have provided and for opening up your lives and company to me. To everyone I’ve met through the orientations, trips and crazy pub nights, it’s been so great to make all these special memories and friendships with y’all, and really, I’ve learnt that you Europeans know how to party. So when I visit Europe, it’s your turn to show me around, okay?

Since I am not actually leaving Vancouver, this is more like a see you later! However, my life will probably be a lot less exciting not being on the PR team, but it’s time for me to start a new phrase and discover new things. As Taylor Swift once said, “This is a new year. A new beginning. And things will change.” Like I said, not to get sappy or anything.

Cheers,

Queenie

INTERNeX Canada: Casual Friday

This week is the first week of my new workmate Marianne! And the last week for Janin!

Since I have been here, INTERNeX office has changed a lot! When I arrived the PR team was composed by other 4 citizen of the world girls… then little by little all of them started leaving… first Petra, then Katie, Xenia and the last one Lies. During all this time, Janin were at the office doing her internship in Human Resources.

Vancouver is an active city where everything changes really fast and the same happens with the people. Almost every week you have to say goodbye to someone who has shared your time here, someone with whom has lived your Canadian experience. I am absolutely sure that everybody you meet here, everybody that you will meet in your life, they change you. And Janin and I we have changed together in some ways.

So, this post is for you, Janin! For all the moments that we have living together, for all the breaks, for the Blenz therapy, for the chicken wrap, for the parties, for everything!

You are a basic support here and I will miss you so much! Let´s party tonight in your farewell like there is no tomorrow, because there will be a tomorrow, but not with you…

Remind always to enjoy today because you don´t know what will happen tomorrow! Enjoy the company of everybody you meet and learn about them! And now we have the best chance to know different people with whom enjoy and learn about!

Good luck with the trip, the future projetc, everything…

See you somewhere! But see you!

We will miss you, I will miss you.

Cheers,

Irene

INTERNeX Canada: Summer Party – A BIG thank you to everyone!

I know this was mentioned a lot at the end of the night, but for all of those that left the Summer Party a little earlier, INTERNeX would like to extend a BIG BIG BIG thank you to all of our candidates, sponsors and friends who attended!

The night was a great success with around 100 people there to celebrate INTERNeX’s 10 year anniversary! There were plenty of games throughout the night and we had a large group of winners that won prizes for gokarting, paintballing, BC Sports Hall of Fame, a trip to Whistler, a shopping trip to Seattle and many more!

For those who won prizes, please don’t forget to come by the INTERNeX office to trade in your gift vouchers for the actual prizes!!

What did everyone else really like about the Summer Party? Leave a comment below 🙂

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

Cheers,

The INTERNeX Team!
