How was your weekend? – Celebration of Light

What an amazing fireworks show!

Last Saturday we INTERNeX’ers went to see the first of 3 days of the Celebration of Light festival. The show started at 10pm but the beach was already extremely packed when we met up at smiley firework7.30pm. Luckily we still managed to squeeze into a spot big enough for our whole group!
Next, we waited in anticipation for the sun to finally go down. We were all expecting something great because fireworks were invented in China after all. So naturally the representative should make its country proud. And they didn’t disappoint. The show was really great! They even made Smileys in the air!

Regrettably, a half an hour later the show which was accompanied by dramatic music already ended.
However, the night was still young. So we moved on to chill at a nearby park where we were suddenly entertained by a wandering musician from East Van – the top of the world!
Later on, we once again ended up at The Cambie topping off an already awesome Saturday.

Hope you had an incredible weekend as well and see you at the PuB NiGHT on Wednesday!

PS: Don’t forget to swing by the office during this week to sign up for our Whistler Day trip on Sunday!

PuB NiGHT Review

Beer Pong @ Cambie’s

Beer Pong is one of the most popular drinking games at the moment. So, we thought we’d give it a shot, as well.
Last PuB NiGHT we went to Cambie’s on Tuesday to join the West Trek sponsored Beer Pong tournament with 2 teams: The Housewives and Why Not. Ironically, The Housewives only had a single female member out of a total of 4 per team which was our very own Natasja!

In round 1 we unfortunately already had our first casualties, after Why Not’s opponents just barely won with each team only having 1 cup left standing at the end.IMG_1360

The Housewives were a bit more successful though. We absolutely crushed the first and second opponents and that had us really psyched So naturally, we went to the semifinals full of confidence. However, then came the Italians! The Reigning Cambie Pong champions! We fought and struggled to our best abilities but ultimately, we had no chance.

Following this defeat, we drowned our sorrows in more beer and watched the final match where our enemies of the evening finally got a taste of divine retribution! The opposing team kicked the Italians off their throne and took the prize for themselves. They won 4 tickets which can be used for a West Trek tour to either Seattle or Whistler.IMG_1498We had an extremely enjoyable time at Cambie’s and joining the tournament!

Hope to see you all next time!

Pub&Club Night Review

So, how was everyone’s weekend?

It looks like summer’s about to hit because we had awesome weather all week.
Now, let’s talk about last Friday. We organized our first Pub&Club Night of the year!

I’m glad we got so many to get together. Thanks for coming along!

We started out at Cambie’s Bar & Grill where the atmosphere is great and drinks are plentiful. After meeting up with everyone, we stayed for a bit, had a few pitchers and chatted. It was really lively!

For the next phase we were all pretty excited. Expectations were high since the Rain Ultraclub had a masquerade party event scheduled for that evening.

However, when we got there with our masks on and all ready to go, we looked around. Hardly anyone else was wearing masks!

It was a bit of a letdown but even so, we still partied on!

Well, I hope everyone had fun!

By the way, this week’s Pub Night will be on Thursday since we’re celebrating a birthday.

See you all there!

Cheers

We will meet on Friday night the 27th of June at 7:00pm for a few drinks, and tons of fun. Pub Night Review

Yesterday was such a beautiful day that ended for most of you at the Cambie for our weekly pub night. However before we went down to the Cambie some of us went to the dance practice.

At 5.30pm we gather in front of the Art Gallery for the dance practice with Lee. We were around 25 people, all excited to get our dance moves on. After we had our “dance-meeting”, Lee put on the music and the show was on. We did two rehearsals before we want a dance-off were you could win two backstreet boys tickets. Our own Crazy Alex was the lucky winner of the tickets! Congrats to you. For those who weren’t at the rehearsal, I hope you practiced at home before the big day! Also a video will be soon released of the rehearsal.

After the rehearsal we went down to the Cambie for our weekly pub night. We were lucky enough the get a table outside and to enjoy the warm weather. After the dance practice we were of course hungry so we ordered some nice burgers with fries (btw, there are pretty cheap $9). Since the sun was setting down, it became a bit fresher outside so we went inside for some more drinks.

We hope you all will join us for the Flashmob! It will be a fun experience and something to tell your friends & family about back home. Here is a video on how to learn the music and if you click here there is even more information!

Backstreet’s back, alright!
