Review: Thanksgiving dinner

Yesterday we went to the pub the Irish Heather for a delicious Thanksgiving dinner. We meet up inside the pub where we could take shelter from the pouring rain outside… Finally the rain came to Vancouver and the city lived up to its reputation as Raincouver. But the rain definitely didn’t take the good mood away from the crowd gathering inside the Irish Heather. Before getting seated we had the chance to have a little chat until the chef rang the bell and the dinner was served. Everybody was seated at one long table, which made it possible to have a chat with people you never met before.

The dinner was really great! It included mashed potatoes, and a pie stuffed with turkey and other kinds of nice fillings. And on top we also got beers specifically selected for the turkey dinner. Really nice to get some nice food in good company. It was good to hear that you guys are interested in the Portland trip. Remember that you still have a chance to sign up for this awesome trip. Just visit the INTERNeX office to sign up and pay in cash for the trip… we’re open Monday to Friday from 10am to 6pm. Also remember that we’re warming up to Halloween with our costume shopping next Saturday. Look for more information here. And to finish off the month of October we’re dressing up in our costumes for a Halloween party on Friday, October 31st. Nobody really voted for a preferred place but it’s our feeling that you’re more into the cheaper alternative… for sure this will be great too! We will find a place to go.

You can see a few more pictures from the Thanksgiving dinner here.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

INTERNeX Canada: What to do on the weekend

Another crazy QuiZ Night is over and we plan the weekend again. After our night out at the Warehouse and much laughter due to our quiz, multiple choice, and grinding half naked waiters (!), we’re now looking forward to a relaxed beginning of the month of Halloween.

For everyone not used to this holiday, we planned a trip to the Stanley Park’s Ghost Train. It is a famous Halloween attraction and originally designed for kids. However, as a nice and fun introduction to the horror month, it’s exactly right to get in the mood for spook.

And then of course, it is the Thanksgiving weekend! On Monday we are having our Thanksgiving dinner at the Irish Heather and are looking forward to a traditional dish of North American turkey dinner. If you haven’t registered yet on Facebook, you might want to do it now, because the deadline is tonight. Well, hope to see you around…

INTERNeX Canada: Thanksgiving

As already mentioned, October is the month of Canadian Thanksgiving. Right, different than in the U.S., but still a time to be thankful for all our loved ones, for a bit of free time, for all the luxury goods we are able to enjoy and last but not least,: For all the good and maybe unusual food.

This years Thanksgiving is on Monday October 14th, so it will be a long weekend to enjoy the fall weather. Many of you might have the possibility to join you homestay family for this special day. However, a few of you might not be quite as lucky. That is why INTERNeX will offer a Thanksgiving dinner for you!

Downtown Vancouver is The Irish Heather. They have a project called the Long Table Series. And this is what we are going to try out. Either on Sunday the 13th or directly on Monday the 14th of October, we will go there as a group, sit together at a really long table with other people and have a nice dinner. It is a very social spirit, to come together to a meal with strangers and spend a lovely evening socializing. It is the Thanksgiving spirit.

Right now, you still have the possibility to chose, whether you would rather go on Sunday or on Monday. Just message Annika via Facebook and give a vote concerning which day suits you best. According to that, we will make reservations and let you all know. Please think about it, check out the website of the PUB to get an idea, which dinner is more of your taste and get back to me as quick as possible.

Best,

Annika
