20th Anniversary!

It was a really special Wednesday for all of us Internex people. Because you won’t believe it but Internex has already celebrated its 20th anniversary. Many people from all over the world came to experience this special moment with us.

But let’s start at the beginning. To celebrate the 20th anniversary a surprise party for Tim has been planned for years. Former participants and employees came to Vancouver especially for this day and had to hide for years that they will come to Vancouver. It took a lot of strategy from Simon to keep Tim from finding out.

After years of planning it finally happened yesterday. The party of the year could finally take place. Now the biggest challenge was to get Tim out of the office. Ann, who is in charge of the Ranchstay, called Tim and asked for a spontaneous meeting as she was in town. Of course, everything was planned in advance !😉

After Tim agreed after some hesitation, the surprise party, which took place in the pint, could begin. Tim didn’t suspect anything and was more than surprised when he saw all the familiar faces from all over the world. After he realized what was going on, it was finally time to celebrate. We had a very enjoyable evening in the pint with both current and former Internex People. The party was moved to Yale in the course of the evening and continued there diligently.

It was definitely a successful evening and a fantastic surprise party!

How was your weekend?

Yet another great weekend is behind us. I was glad to see so many of you guys joining our events during these past days. Let’s look more into the things we did with the INTERNeX gang.

The weekend kicked off with an awesome Game Night at our INTERNeX office. A lot of people showed up for the Game Night and it almost got crowded at the office. We played a lot of different games like Pictionary, Apples to Apples and Cards Against Humanity, to name some. The night started around 6pm and almost didn’t end. Finally around midnight we managed to put the games back in their places and continued the night to somewhere else. This time we decided to go to the Pint, which is located right across the street from the International Village Mall. It was pretty convenient location for us. There we continued the party on the dance floor for a couple of more hours.IMG_20190407_201957.jpg

We ended the weekend with an evening trying to escape some crazy Escape Rooms at Locked Canada. There were 18 of us in total participating. We were divided into three different groups for three different Escape Room themes. Two of our groups managed two escape and I guess one group is still trying to find their way out. The theme we did with my team was the scariest one and I can tell you that it sure was scary. After we escaped the other teams told us that they’ve heard us screaming every now and then. I think we might go to the Locked Canada again some time soon since everyone enjoyed this event so much.

This week’s PuB NiGHT will be @ The Yagger’s Downtown at 8pm, see ya there!

How was your weekend?

It’s Monday again which means that the weekend is already over. But since my weekend was so much fun, I would like to look back on it one more time with all of you guys! So if you want to know what I did this weekend than keep on reading!

My weekend started off on Friday when we decided to play a really fun game at the office called Zombies. When we were done with the game I met up with Roslyn to grab some food at The Pint before going to her and Linda’s Birthday Party in 131 Water.

Once we all arrived in the pub we played Card Against Humanity, which is always a lot of fun. After a couple drinks and some food we decided to continue our night at The Bourbon where we had some more drinks.

Since it was a long night on Friday I woke up pretty late on Saturday and watched some Netflix before it was time for me to get ready to grab some dinner and go to the Christmas Karaoke Trolley tour. Once I finished my sushi dinner we met up with all the other INTERNeX candidates at Canada Place where our tour started. We first visited Bright Nights at Stanley Park, drove past Hycroft Manor and St. Paul Hospital and finished our tour at the VanDusen Botenical garden.

On our way to all these amazing destinations we sang a lot of Christmas Songs like “All I Want For Christmas Is You” “ Last Christmas” “Let it Snow” and many more. The Christmas Lights at VanDusen and Stanley Park were really pretty and impressing. At VanDusen we all enjoyed a Hot Chocolate or Mulled Wine.

When the tour ended we decided to go to The Blarney Stone where a live band was playing some music and after a couple of drinks we went with some people to The Bourbon to proceed the party there.

On Sunday I slept in and visited David at Horseshoe Bay at night and after he was done with work we went to downtown to the Yale Saloon for a drink. It was a lot of fun since they had karaoke night there and you all know how much we love karaoke.

Thank you all for joining us for the Christmas Karaoke Trolley Tour and we hope to see you all at the next PuB NiGHT in The Charles Bar!

PuB NiGHT Review: The Black Frog

Thank you all for joining us on Wednesday for our PuB NiGHT at The Black Frog!

We had a lot of fun and we all hope you did too! We started our night after work when we went to The Pint to enjoy the Wing Wednesday deal. After we filled our stomachs with some chicken wings and a beer it was time for us to go to The Black Frog.

When we arrived they were broadcasting the Oilers game since The Black Frog is a pub, which supports the Oilers from Edmonton. After the game was finished they played some music and we enjoyed some cocktails and beers.

After a while we all decided to go to The Met of course to sing some karaoke songs and ended our night there.

We hope to see all of you this Saturday for the Christmas Karaoke Trolley!
