What to do on the weekend

It’s almost weekend! The weather is supposed to be amazing and there are fun things to do. Here’s some inspiration to get you started!

On Saturday we will go to the TD Vancouver Jazz Festival. The festival lasts for two weeks and there are events all around town. Fora lot of the events you do need tickets, but on Saturday there will be free concerts on Robson & Georgia. We will meet in front of the London Drugs on Georgia Street at 12 PM.

Another event that’s happening this weekend is the Dragon Boat Festival. This will take place on Saturday and Sunday with various locations all around False Creek. There will be boat races and free concerts.

On Sunday you can go to Greek day on Broadway. This is a street festival on Broadway from MacDonald to Blenheim with food and entertainment.

Or if you would rather take it easy you could always just go to one of the many beaches around Vancouver. You can go to English Bay, Second Beach, Third Beach, Sunset Beach, Kitsilano Beach, Jericho Beach, Spanish Banks or Wreck Beach if you don’t mind the optional clothing.

Just like every weekend this summer there’s the Richmond Night Market, Summer Illumination Night market and several Farmers markets on Saturday and Sunday.

I hope to see you all tomorrow at the Jazz Festival!

What to do on the weekend

It’s almost weekend! Here are some ideas on how to make your weekend great!

9712752916_eeb63073e6_o.jpgThis weekend it will be amazing weather again, so we decided to go to Jericho beach on Saturday.  Jericho beach has several picnic tables where we could eat our food, so you can take food with you for a nice picnic on the beach or just chill and enjoy the nice weather.

If you are into beer you could go to the opening night of the Vancouver Craft Beer Week at the Roundhouse on Friday night. There will be samples of beer (naturally), food trucks and live entertainment. A ticket for the event is $49 and includes 15 drink tickets.

You could also go to The Richmond Night Market. They opened on May 12th and will be open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night from 7 pm till October 9th. They sell a lot of food there, so make sure you go with an empty stomach! The admission is $3.75.

18721359_10209072326626307_1192880159_oWe will be having great weather for the whole weekend, so if you are not able to join us on Saturday then you can also go to one of Vancouver’s many beaches on Sunday. English Bay Beach, Second Beach, Sunset Beach and Kitsilano Beach tend to be a bit busy during days like these, so you might want to consider going to Third Beach or Jericho Beach if you like it a bit more quiet.

You could also use the good weather to go on a hike, but just be careful if the hike is fully in the sun and make sure you stay hydrated!

Experience IT Review – Stanley Park bike ride

Last weekend we went for a Dutch adventure around Stanley Park. It was great seeing all of you again. Thank you for coming!

Stanley Park is one of Vancouver’s icons and probably one of the first things you go to when you get to Vancouver. There are a lot of places you can explore within the park. All of these places are hard to discover in one day if you go by foot. However, this weekend we all became Dutch and went for a bike ride in Stanley Park. This gave us the opportunity to cover more ground and to see more of Stanley Park.

IMG_3796We were really lucky with the weather and it was just the perfect day to do something outside. You could see that a lot of people were having the same idea, as it was really busy on the bike path around Stanley park. We got our bikes at Spokes bike rental and biked from there to the seawall. There we started our journey and biked over the seawall around Stanley Park. Soon we reached our first stop where we had a great view over downtown Vancouver. Here we started a small photoshoot with our bikes. After we took the pictures we continued to Brockton point lighthouse where we got our second stop. Once we got the pictures, we got back onto our bikes and passed several nice viewings such as the Shiwash rock and Third beach. As I am always quite unlucky, it was no surprise that my bike broke and I had to leave all of you from there on. Luckily, you were more lucky and went to the Lost Lagoon. After that you brought your bikes back and went for an ice cream at Dairy Queen to cool off again.

Thank you all for bringing a bit of the Netherlands to Vancouver for us and I hope to see you all on PuB NiGHT!

INTERNeX Canada: How was your weekend?

My weekend was a lot of fun; I had a lazy Saturday with movies and going out. On Sunday Rasmus had his birthday and we all celebrated it in Stanley Park. We had sunny weather, which made a stroll trough the park really nice. We went to beaver lake and had a really nice picnic at third beach. After that we walked to the English bay and to the lost lagoon, which is a really beautiful lake. ( see pictures below)

I really enjoy my weekend and hope that we get such a nice weather next week.

Cheers,

Petra
