Bowen Island Tour Guide: Activities

On May 14 we will take the ferry from Horseshoe Bay to have a great day on Bowen Island! With this blog post we hope to inform you more about all the activities you can do there.

Bowen Island Sea Kayaking

We are on an island, which means it is all surrounded by water and a perfect place to go kayaking. Bowen Island Sea Kayaking rents kayaks and paddleboards but also arranges kayaking tours. It is your chance to get close to nature and wildlife and if you get on a tour, the experienced tour guide will tell you everything you need to know about Bowen Island and its waters. Their popular shoreline tour will cost you $75 and will give you pleasure for three hours. Keep in mind that there is a reservation required and a two-person minimum for the tours. If you rather go explore the waters by yourself you can also rent kayaks or a stand up paddleboard (SUP). This will cost you:

• 3 hour single kayak:    $45
• 4 hour single kayak:    $55
• 3 hour double kayak:  $70
• 4 hour double kayak:  $85
• 1 hour SUP:   $20
• 2 hour SUP:   $35
• 3 hour SUP:   $45

Zoom Zoom Bowen Island

Zoom zoom or broom broom over Bowen Island with a fun, retro styled 49cc scooter. Hereby you can explore the island in a fun way and make many stops for the scenic views. All scooters they rent come with a demo lesson and helmet. They also have some good resources to help you get around the island. The rental rates are:

• 2 hours:   $45
• 4 hours:   $65
• From 9am to 7pm:   $85

Be aware that these scooters are designed for single riders only, so it is not possible to go together on one scooter. You also need to be 19 years old and a valid drivers license is required. For all terms & conditions and more information, visit their website.

Hiking

Bowen Island offers lots of hiking trails to enjoy. If you get off the ferry you can check out the maps in the information kiosk on the dock to your right. You can also click here to find all the hiking trails. When you are going to hike it is very important to stay on the marked trails to preserve the habitats for the plants and animals on the island.

If you weren’t at the pub night this week, you missed out on some awesome discussion! On Wednesdays, The Library Square has special $5 wings as well as drinks for fairly cheap! Something you definitely didn’t miss out on was the cocktail drinks part. All I can say is that it was just terrible. But as I was about to leave, Erik ordered the wings. And the smell! Almost ruined my healthy eating plan 😛 If you want to know more about what happened at the pub night, you can read about it here!

Vancouver Aquarium day trip TODAY!

It is not too late to join us today, you still have time! We will be meeting at 11:00 am to visit the Vancouver Aquarium! The Aquarium is one of the MUST see places in Vancouver so you really don’t want to miss out. If you can’t make it today, definitely visit them on your own time. They have a special Sharks and Rays exhibition going on until April. You will not only learn about all the fascinating underwater creatures, but also get to experience 4D shows and dolphin shows! INTERNeX PuB NiGHT Review

Hi everyone, how are you all doing? Yesterday we had our Special International PuB NiGHT again. We started at 9 pm at The Bourbon. The INTERNeX PuB NiGHT was together with SWAP and Moose Travel and all travelers in and around the city of Vancouver. The theme was bunnies & beer because Easter is coming up.

There were a lot of games including beer, pennies and a lot of fun! Some people won a trip to Whistler and tickets for the famous Capilano Suspension Bridge. We were with a big INTERNeX group again, I’m happy that so many INTERNeX’ers show up every week 🙂 I had a great evening!

Special PuB NiGHT – Review

Yesterday we had a special PuB NiGHT going on at the Bourbon on Cordova St. Together with some of our INTERNeX partners we arranged this special event for you! The night started at 9pm when some of our INTERNeX candidates entered the pub. The theme of the party was ‘Been Around The World’ so a lot of people where dressed as their own country. To give you a good example, our candidate Flo from Austria was wearing his ‘lederhosen’ to the event, which was absolutely awesome!

Moose Travel was hosting some fun games during the evening. Some of our candidates wanted to play, so they were divided into teams. In the first round the teams had to crowd surf one of their team members, who had to drink beer with a straw afterwords. The second game was quarter bounce, where the players had to bounce several quarters into a cup. In the last round there was a real battle between the teams. Every team had to pick one team member to battle against the other team. Those persons were blindfolded and were wearing a helmet with an empty can on top of it. In the battle the players had to try to hit the can off the helmet of the other team player! Of course there were prizes to win last night, and team Jet Wild was the winner of the evening! They won Moose Whistler tours, tickets to the Giants playoff game and t-shirts!

The games were a lot of fun to watch and everyone was enjoying themselves. We had no cover, no line up and drink specials the whole evening, so basically we had a GREAT evening! Canada Day Party!
