In 2 weeks INTERNeX Goes Rockies 2012!! For those who have already signed up; you’re in for one of the most unforgettable Easter weekends you will ever have and for those who haven’t signed up yet please make sure you don’t miss out!!
This week I will tell you more about the three places where we will be staying during our Rockies tour; Valemont, Banff and Golden.
VALEMOUNT
On Friday 6th we will arrive in Valemont. Valemont is in BC and is situated in a valley between the Rocky Mountains, Monashee Mountains and Cariboo Mountains.
Valemount is home to the highest peak of the Rockies; Mount Robson at 3,954m. A lot of wildlife can be seen in the mountainous areas of Valemount such as; elk, moose, mountain goats, grizzly bears, black bears, mule, caribou, beaver, muskrat and much more.
BANFF
On our second day we will be going to the highest town (at 1, 383 m) in the whole of Canada; Banff. This beautiful national park of Alberta is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a United Nations designation which helps protect a very large part of the Canadian Rocky Mountains.
There are quite a few activities you can do in Banff, such as: skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, hiking, gondola rides, dog sledding and much much more!
GOLDEN
Our last night will be spent in Golden, BC. This beautiful part of Canada is surrounded by the Glacier National Park and Yoho National Park and is known as ‘Kicking Horse Country’.
Golden has quite a few impressing attractions that you need to see while we are there. It is home to the longest covered pedestrian bridge in all of Canada. You can even take a gondola ride to see the unbelievable views of the valley and mountain vistas.
