Goonies under the Stars

Thanks for everyone that came out the the Outdoor Movie last night! It was a lot of fun!

I had never seen the movie The Goonies before so for me it was extra special. But even though most of the other people had seen the movie before it was nice to watch it again. The atmosphere at the field was very nice, people were clapping and cheering along with the movie.

The movie started at 10 pm and by that time the sun had gone under, along with the heat! Some of us were not really prepared for the cold and had flip-flops and shorts on. Luckily we also brought some blankets and we could warm ourselves up!

Missed out on the movie yesterday? Not to worry! FreshAir Cinema hosts a outdoor movie in Stanley Park every week. Next Thursday, July 22, they will show the movie Monsters VS Aliens! Be sure to be there long before 9 pm as it is a popular event and the good spots are taking very quickly! Also be sure to bring some hot chocolade, coffee or tea and some blankets!

  • Challenge other guests to Extreme Twister – the game floor will be literally twisting on the spinning platform in the Eureka! Gallery.

Between games, adventure through our galleries, all of which will be open for the evening!

Prizes will be awarded to guests dressed in the best retro costumes circa 1970s’ and 80s’ in both individual and team categories. So strap on your bellbottoms and get ready to play! Beer and wine will be sold.

Let’s Go Paintballing!

Ready to gear up? Join other INTERNeX candidates for an adrenaline-rushing game of Paintball on Thursday July 8, 2010. Shoot or get shot as we run, crawl and hide over a span of three-acre terrain!  You don’t want to miss this event – and girls – you need to come out too!

We will be playing from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. at NorthShore Paintball, which is located just minutes from downtown Vancouver. This is an awesome deal!

Laura and I will be heading over to a thrift store to pick out some outrageous outfits (maybe even some comfortable dresses) to wear while we pulverize the boys! Make sure to wear comfortable, old clothing because this is going to be a highly active couple of hours! Grab some friends, some coworkers, even your boss and open fire at INTERNeX Paintball! We guarantee you’ll relieve some stress and leave with tons of fun memories (and maybe a few bruises).

If we don’t get a group of 12 or more, here are the prices. Please note that NorthShore Paintball only accepts cash payments, so please come prepared.

INTERNeX Pot Luck June 6!

Since last weekend’s barbecue went so well, INTERNeX has decided to use food once more to bring people together! Join other INTERNeX participants on June 6 for a Potluck dinner! Come to the INTERNeX house around 6:30 p.m., and join in on the fun! This will be a relaxing evening featuring a nice dinner party.

If you don’t know what a potluck is, then you need to participate! A potluck is a gathering of people where each person contributes a dish of food to be shared among the group. This is a great way to show your cultural background, so bring a dish that best represents your country! It will be a fun way to teach others about where you’re from and learn about other people too! After all, food is a way that cultural groups express their way of living!

Please e-mail me at pr@internexcanada.com to tell me what you’re bringing. This is so we don’t have duplicates of dishes. If you don’t know where the staff house is, also e-mail me for directions!  You can bring an appetizer, main course or dessert! It’s completely up to you! We really hope you can make it!
