Smart Saver Vancouver

We know you are saving money for the Rockies trip and therefore we looked for places where you can spend your free time for a cheap price.

If you feel like a bit laughter after a long and tiring week, then you should try out Vancouver Theatres Sports League on Granville island. There are several shows playing in the theatre and all for a pretty good price. The best time to go to these shows are 16237737_1615329781815800_1946877102_nWednesdays and Thursdays. On these days you can go for the Half Price Hilarity ticket of $7.50, which are valid for the 9:15 shows. You can either go to Firecracker! on Wednesdays or to #NoFilter on Thursdays. If you are not able to go during the week, you can also go to a Sunday show. On Sundays the tickets only cost $8.

When you prefer a more active experience for your leisure time, then you can go to Granville Island Brewing. Granville Island Brewing is Canada’s first microbrewery. The brewery offers daily tours for only $9.75, which includes 4 ounce tasters. This is a great opportunity for beer lovers who want to get to know a bit more about the process of their favourite drink.

April is supposed to be more sunnier, so it might be a good idea to check out the Vancouver lookout. It will give you an amazing view over the city for only $17.50. For students it is even cheaper, as they get a $5 discount on this great attraction.

I hope you can use this information to save money in April, which you can use for the great activities at the Rockies. Next Wednesday we will give you an update on more deals in Vancouver.

See you tonight at PuB NiGHT and don’t forget to bring money to sign up for our big trip to the Rockies!

Highlights of the Year 2016: January, February and March

The last month of the year has started and that means that we will start with the Highlights of the Year 2016. This week we start with January, February and March!

January

January, the beginning of this eventful year. It started of great with the first PuB NiGHT of the year at the Bismarck Bar. Later that week we had a great time ice skating at Robson Square.

At the end of January we had our first monthly trip. Skiing and Snowboarding in Whistler. January Whistler weekend.jpgThe weather forecast was perfect for this weekend, it promised a lot of new powdery snow. On Friday we got on the bus and drove to Whistler on the Sea to Sky Highway, which was a spectacular ride with great views. When we arrived we got ready to go on a night out in Whistler Village. The next day we went up to the Whistler Mountain and started skiing and snowboarding. After a long day we sat down and enjoyed some Après Ski. On Sunday we got up early again to enjoy the mountain again before the bus was leaving at 4.30. Everyone fell asleep on the bus, after a long but fun weekend!

February

The events in February were again exciting! In the middle of this month we went on a trip to the Rocky Mountains with West Trek Tours. On the first day we had a long ride to make. We got on the bus at 7 am and arrived in Golden at 6 pm. We checked in to the Mountain View Cabins and all enjoyed our evening together. The second day we made our way through Yoho and Banff National Parks. We stopped at Lake Louise to watch or ice skate on the frozen lake and after that we ice hiked through Johnston Canyon and see frozen waterfalls. After that we arrived in Banff and got ready for our first night out together at Hoodoo Nightclub. On the third day we went to Lake Minnewanka and Two Jack Lake. Making our way back to Golden we stopped at Emerald Lake and after that have a big BBQ a
t our Mountain View Cabins. Day four was the day to get back to Vancouver again. But before that we went to the Rocky Mountain Buffalo Ranch and travel through the Okanagan Valley.

March Pub Night.jpgAnother event was the Special Edition of FlyOverCanada. We enjoyed a flight over Canada and over China! This was in celebration of the Chinese New Year.

And of course we can never forget the PuB NiGHTs and the Beer Pong Night at the Cambie.

March

In the beginning of March we enjoyed the view over Vancouver at the Vancouver Lookout! And a few weeks later we celebrated St. Patricks Day by going to the parade and have a party at Blarney Stone! It was lots of fun! Also all the other PuB NiGHTs were really nice!

A big thank you to Sandra and Vivien who organized the PuB NiGHTS, events and trips in the first months of 2016!

INTERNeX Canada: Casual Friday

Vancouver is famous for being one of the most livable cities in the world. Everybody who has been there adores this city and cannot stop listing special or awesome things. One of these things itself is the restaurant Cloud 9.

To take advantage of Vancouver’s natural beauty you have to make your way to the Empire Landmark Hotel, the former Sheraton Landmark. It is in the West End of Downtown Vancouver and with its 42 stories it is the tallest free standing building in Vancouver. So besides that, what makes this place so special? It is also one of Vancouver’s attractions because of its top floor restaurant. The Cloud 9 is a revolving restaurant, which means that its rooms are designed in a way that offers people a panoramic view over the city without having to leave their seats.

Even though the prices are not the lowest in town, you can just go for drinks or dessert; enjoying a piano-bar atmosphere and the best view of Van City. Some people are so excited about the whole thing, they even say just go there instead of the Vancouver Lookout. Go later in the evening and they’ll often let you nurse your drink for as long as you like.

See you soon and enjoy the view,

Annika
