INTERNeX Canada: How was your weekend?

Erik went all out with his shorts and flip flops -I applaud you, sir!

Out of all of the pub nights and trips I have organized and attended, probably the most memorable event for me was last Friday.  We were all at the Morrissey pub on Granville street. It was such a fun night with everyone, I thought. Fun…and also very special.

It was actually different from our usual pub and club nights, because not only was it a Hawaiian theme, but also because Tim and our company partners from Denmark came to join us! It was so much fun to see every one enjoying their time, drinking beers, and smiling. I always know Morrissey is a great place for us!

Cheers to tequila shots!!!

As we were sitting at the pub though, I noticed people were taking turns and disappearing for a good five to ten minutes. Hmmm very interesting, I thought. When I asked where they were going, they said they needed to go to the washroom….that must have been a very long washroom break I must say. But later I found out why. My themed pub and club night turned into a my surprise goodbye party! Ilse presented me with a photo scrapbook with everyone’s comments in it. I was so caught off guard that I didn’t know how to react. I think that part of the night is what made it so special for me.

group photo!

Then after, we made our way to VENUE! Enough being emotional because we had to go party it up and dance the night away at the club! Even Joan and Maria joined us to buy everyone a round of tequila shots! It was very very sweet of them and I’m sure all of us really appreciated it (not going to say who 😉 )! Overall it was such a successful, emotional, hilarious, and incredible night!

Thank you everyone for coming out that night and celebrating!

Cheers,

Flora

INTERNeX Canada: Casual Friday!

1657_10151370372966850_287530237_nOne thing I will miss working as a PR intern is being able to make friends with people from all different places in the world. Actually not only that but also being able to learn about their culture, right at home, instead of going to a different country.

I’ve learned so much from everyone that I have met during my internship! For example, the most delicious dutch chocolate sprinkles is called Hagelslag, and you sprinkle it on bread. It can be found in a local Dutch grocery store here! I am just in LOVE with this stuff -so tasty! Another thing I have learned is that there are so many different traditions for birthdays and holidays! For example in Denmark, you have to bring breakfast/food for your coworkers on the morning of your own birthday! Like what is that? Really? I think it should be the other way around, you should be pampered on your own birthday!

Of course you can find out these kind of information by searching on Google and reading up on it. But it’s just so much better when you can sit and have a conversation with a person from that country and learn through them.

I can’t believe my internship is coming to an end in just a few days! Join us tonight at our pub and club night, it will be held at Morrissey Pub and then partying it up at VENUE! Click here for more information (remember to bring your PASSPORTS!)

Cheers,

Flora

INTERNeX Canada: PuB NiGHT Review!

PuB NiGHT at the Morrissey!!

As soon as you step inside the Morrissey pub, you’ll be welcomed by a cozy atmosphere -dimmed chandelier, candles on the wooden table, vintage frames on the wall, and a warm fireplace. That’s where we were yesterday for our Wednesday pub night!

But not just any pub night..because it was full of awesome fun games, and prizes! We started out by playing a round of card game called One Card (similar to UNO). It was fun but as more people arrived, we decided to team up and play Cards Against Humanity. All the answers were so hilarious…and of course terribly inappropriate 😉 And the winning teams won free admission to the Vancouver Maritime Museum!

I really enjoy being at the Morrissey. The music is never too loud and waitresses are pretty friendly…and their cocktails aren’t bad either!Perhaps the only downside is that it’s a bit on the pricier end.

Valentine and Ann-Christin

And we also had Lesley from Westtrek, who showed us a game called quarters tournament (this is where you compete to get two quarters into a cup). The two winners won a $25 discount coupon towards the Rockies trip!

Cute girls, handsome European men, drinks, games, prizes…what more can you want 😉 join us next week if you missed out last night!

And if you just can’t wait till next week, come with us this Sunday March 17th as we watch the St. Patrick’s Day parade, drink green beer, and party it up at the Venue! For more details, click here.

Cheers,

Flora

INTERNeX Canada: PuB and CLuB NiGHT review

Last Friday, the ‘INTERNeX-family’ got together once again and had a crazy night in downtown Vancouver! We grabbed our first drinks at Speakeasy Bar on Granville St where old and new faces showed up as people brought their friends and roommates! Yay, the more the merrier for sure!! The extended family then moved on to location No.2: Venue Nightclub! After about 30 tiresome minutes in the line, everyone got in and the real party finally kicked off. While heavy bass shook our bodies, plenty of drinks took care of everything else. 🙂 People literally danced the night away and had a great time. However, we had to observe the bunch of Danish who took it rather easy in the beginning but went nuts after midnight! Must be a Scandinavian thing, hmm. I am pretty sure they were the only ones who stayed after I left at around 2am though – Way to go guys!! 🙂

Of course, the PR team was as annoying as always and took many many pics! Check them out on Flickr and Facebook!!

So don’t be sad it’s Monday – there’s only two sleeps left till Wednesday! (Regular PuB NiGHT, remember?! ;))

See you there!

Cheers

Marianne
