INTERNeX Explorer Ep1 – 2017 Behind the scenes

This week we posted our first episode of the INTERNeX Explorer. We are planning to publish an episode every month. Our new show will include some cool spots in and around Vancouver, upcoming trips and events as well as a review of the previous month. We hope to inform and entertain you with our little show we call the INTERNeX Explorer.

It was lots of fun making the first episode. We started with writing our own scripts. The hardest part was coming up with some interesting fun facts about ourselves. However, with some help from each other, we all figured out what to write. ix-explorer_ep1-2017Afterwards the filming finally started. As it was the first time we were being filmed, we were all a bit nervous, which made us forget our text sometimes. Luckily, we had our scripts near by and quite some time available to shoot the video. Janel had the chance to practice her news reading skills and also had to point to pictures which were not here and added in post. As she never did that before, it was a bit awkward.

The most difficult part was the part of the future events. First Danielle kept touching the green screen, as she wanted to put her jacket on. We therefore decided it would be easier if she was already wearing the jacket. But of course that meant she was getting hot wearing the jacket the entire time while filming. It was sometimes hard to stop laughing when we were shooting the part of future events. Simon had to sit in a very uncomfortable position on his knees outside the view of the camera to give Danielle the ski sticks.

After the shooting was done Simon and Tess had to do the editing. The postproduction of the video seemed to be the hardest part of our whole process. A lot of footage had to be viewed and in the end some music had to be found. The final cut went to some reviews and the entire team had to be alright with it. Simon said we can be proud of our first video and also that we will improve with every episode. We hope you agree with him and look forward to produce the next episode with him.

If you haven’t already, check out our first episode of the INTERNeX Explorer:

I hope you will enjoy the video and I am looking forward to hearing your comments!

Pub Night Review

Yesterday was such a beautiful day that ended for most of you at the Cambie for our weekly pub night. However before we went down to the Cambie some of us went to the dance practice.

At 5.30pm we gather in front of the Art Gallery for the dance practice with Lee. We were around 25 people, all excited to get our dance moves on. After we had our “dance-meeting”, Lee put on the music and the show was on. We did two rehearsals before we want a dance-off were you could win two backstreet boys tickets. Our own Crazy Alex was the lucky winner of the tickets! Congrats to you. For those who weren’t at the rehearsal, I hope you practiced at home before the big day! Also a video will be soon released of the rehearsal.

After the rehearsal we went down to the Cambie for our weekly pub night. We were lucky enough the get a table outside and to enjoy the warm weather. After the dance practice we were of course hungry so we ordered some nice burgers with fries (btw, there are pretty cheap $9). Since the sun was setting down, it became a bit fresher outside so we went inside for some more drinks.

We hope you all will join us for the Flashmob! It will be a fun experience and something to tell your friends & family about back home. Here is a video on how to learn the music and if you click here there is even more information!

Backstreet’s back, alright!

INTERNeX Highlights of April 2014

It’s time for another highlight of the month video. This time we review the month April and preview May.

We started April with a international dinner at the office, where everyone brought typical food from their home country, such as kaiserschmarrn, pasta, stroopwafels and much more. Afterwards we went to the Cambie for some beers. Our second activity was the FlyOver Canada experience. And than of course we had our amazing Rockies trip during the long easter weekend, back in Vancouver we had a after rockies party.

In May we have new fun activity planned for you. On the 3th of May we will go to Richmond to the largest indoor trampoline park in Canada. The second weekend of May we are going to Granville Island for some cheesecake and beer. From the 17th till the 19th May we will be in Tofino for our monthly overnight stay. Back in Vancouver we will have a Pub & Club night starting with beers at the Cambie and than going out in one of the clubs on Granville street.  We will end the month of May with a bike ride through Stanley park.

We hope to see you at the activities in May!

The Amazing Rockies Trip

To get you even more in the mood for the Rockies Trip in April, we have a short movie about the Rockies and what to except. Over the years we interviewed many candidates about their stay in Canada and only good things were said about the rockies, read it yourself.

I really enjoyed the Rocky Mountains. The landscape there is breath taking and I can only recommend joining the next trip to the Rockies.  While writing about it great pictures of turquoise lakes and huge mountains with snow covered peaks come to my mind.  You guys should really not miss the next Rockies Trip! – Jasmin, Germany

There are so many things I will remember.  My whole time in Canada was amazing. But in my opinion, the Rockies trip was the most impressive thing! And of course, I won’t forget all the nice people from Canada and all over the world I met in these three months! – Laura, Germany

With Easter I went to the Rockies with INTERNeX. It was an amazing trip, one of the must do’s in Canada! – Ilse, Netherlands

I’ll always remember our hilarious pub nights, trips on the weekends, the beautiful and fun Rockies trip – Flora,

Most memorable are, of course, our amazing trips to Whistler and the Rockies. Literally every time I left the city, I got reminded of how big and beautiful this country really is – ah there is sooo much more to Canada than just one place – Marianne, Germany

I went to the Rockies and it was simply awesome – Sebastian, Germany

Although I enjoy many parts of this internship, my favorite part was definitely the Rockies trip. I enjoyed spending time with all of my fellow PR interns as well as all of you that joined us on the trip. I got so close to all of you. It was a great final trip to a great internship. – Katie, USA

With INTERNeX I went to the Rockies, which was a very memorable trip! We had so much fun and I got to know a lot of nice people. I especially enjoyed the campfire we had, the Banff gondola and the Columbia Icefields! The nature is just stunning. – Melanie, Germany

The Rockies trip was definitely a memorable experience. There were so many nice people and we had so much fun together. – Jildau, Netherlands

For me it was the trip to the Rocky Mountains! The whole tour was fun: the nature was impressive, my roommates were awesome on this trip and we are really close friends now, even the bus ride was a lot of fun. – Maria, Germany

I went to an amazing Rockies Trip. That was one of the best trips I have ever done and I only can suggest everybody to attend the next one in April!
I arrived Thursday Night and went straight to the Rockies on Friday morning. The program was awesome, and for me was it the perfect chance to meet people right away.
I was part of the “INTERNeX Family” from the very beginning. We had a great time with terrific parties and fun people! – Nicolas, Germany

The Rockies trip with West Trek. It was an amazing tour and I met a lot of people who I am still in contact with! – Gerdieneke, Netherlands

Well I think these testimonials say more than enough! Click here for more information about the trip and do not forget to stop by the office to sign up. If you want you can also pay on one of our pub nights or on friday at the Latin dinner.

INTERNeX Canada: How was your weekend!

Last Friday night we went to the Whiskey Bar for our Rocky Mountains after Party !! The Whiskey Bar, is a bar located in the heart of Gastown, with a cozy atmosphere, great music and outstanding staff !!

We could watch the video that Westrek made in the Rockies and it was without doubt nice to see how much fun we had over there ! Some of us appear jumping when we said the “unpronounceable” word! We all people who went to Rockies know what I’m talking about !!

While watching the video we took a few drinks and after that we rocked the dance floor.

We had so much fun and the music I have to say was really great !!

We also saw a lot of people we met during the trip and it was amazing because we could dance a little bit and also chat with them !

And during the weekend, we could rest  a little bit. Saturday started with a cloudy sky, but it soon cleared up and the afternoon was perfect for enjoying the beach, or a beautiful day in the mountains.

On Sunday, it rained a little bit the morning, but it also changed and the afternoon was nice to go outside and rest a little bit in a park for example. (I actually missed a little bit the rain in Vancouver..hehehe)

So, what did you do during your weekend?

I wish you an amazing week everybody!

Best,

Mercedes
