Finally a guy joining the team!

2017-08-12 15.34.16When I was in the Rockies I already heard some people say: “I’ve never seen that guy before, but he looks so cool” and “Wow, who is that awesome dude in the back of the buss?” To most of you I already gave an answer to that question, but for the rest of you, I will help you out. Let me introduce myself.

My parents gave me the name Bart when I was born. I am a 22-year-old student from the Netherlands (yes, from the stroopwafels). Right now I am doing the study Leisure managent at the really cool city called Breda. For all of you considering going to the Netherlands, make sure you visit that city one day.

2017-08-13 11.12.48For my internship I chose to go far away from all the rain and snow back home, so I decided to do my internship abroad. When I was looking on the Internet I saw INTERNeX has a place for me to do my internship. I was really excited while reading all the things they do and I heard some great stories from Danielle. Fun fact: Danielle used to be my babysitter when I was a first-year student at college. So back to my story, I decided to go to the always-sunny Vancouver where it never rains. I was wrong about that part. However, I am really glad I can do my internship here.

2017-08-13 15.15.22

My first day at the office was a very hard day. First we talked about what we are going to do these weeks. Then it was time to buy a PlayStation 4 and grab a pizza. After that, Danielle and Tess came by to bring us some beers. The rest of the day we talked about the great things they have been through during their time here. You can imagine how tired I was after this long day at the office.

I am really excited to meet the rest of you who didn’t go to the Rockies. I am also really excited to speak to everybody again who did go to the Rockies, no worries 😉 Hope to see you all tonight at the PuB NiGHT!

PUB NIGHT REVIEW

Fore last night was Trivia Night at Moose’s Down Under. We had a lot of fun and we really tried our best to answer at least some questions but most of them were so specific that our general knowledge wasn’t enough. 22185858802_8ba211742b_bLooks like we all need to study up some more! I actually wouldn’t have expected that it’s so hard to answer the questions right although I was warned about that before. Nevertheless it was lots of fun guessing the different kind of issues. To be honest we were guessing almost every time or actually we would have known more if they had accepted the German answers as well. Even at the mini games in between the four quiz rounds we were so bad though actually the only thing you need to win these games is a bit of luck. Since our group was knocked out after every first round of mini games we obviously hadn’t that much luck. We had to split up into two teams because we were too many people and you are only allowed to play in a group of 6 participants to win the jackpot. For us it didn’t matter … we were too bad anyways.

9957210503_50b7753078_bMoreover we weren’t there to win the game we were there to have fun, spend time together and to extend a warm welcome to our new candidates. I guess everyone agree with me.

On Saturday we will meet up to prepare for Halloween. There are only two weeks left therefore it is time to find a suitable outfit for this occasion. Did you already think about a Halloween costume? I informed myself about the Halloween trends 2015. As I read, the most popular costume trends include superheroes (e.g. Batman, Superman), science fiction stars (e.g. Star Wars characters), the Minions and throwback Thursday outfits (e.g. back to 90s outfits). As far as I’m concerned I prefer a “traditional” costume such as zombies or other spooky creatures. But we will see what the stores have plenty to offer.

Let’s get in a terrifying Halloween mood by shopping some costumes on Saturday.

Looking forward to Halloween!

PuB Night Announcment

Tomorrow we’re having our PuB Night at the Darby’s. They’re located on Macdonald Street and 4th Ave, which is only about 5min walk away from different parks at the beach. So we can stay there until about quarter to 10 and then just head to the beach and we’ll be able to see the fireworks of the Celebration of Light because we’re just on the other side of the english bay.

They’re serving typical canadian food, from Poutine over Fish&Chips to Burgers or Salads and they offer more than 30 different beers.

You can get there with different busses. If you get off the Skytrain at Burrard Station you can take the busses 022, 044, 007,004 or 002 and get off at Macdonald& 4th Ave. (Macdonald&3rd Ave if you take the 022). We hope to get the change to sit outside at the patio, so bring a jacket or something, in case it gets colder during the evening.

Hope to see many of you there, it will be Henrik’s first PuB Night, so you can use the chance to get to know him. See you tomorrow at 7pm at the Darby’s!

INTERNeX Canada: Clara says “Whats Up?”

Hi guys!

My name is Clara Garcia, and I’m the new PR Intern. I’m an Advertising and Public Relation student. I’m from Mérida, a very beautiful city in the Southwestern part of Spain, with a large amount of old Roman monuments and famous for its ham, red wine and other delicious things.

The last four years I’ve lived in Madrid, so I love big cities and I know people from all around the world. About my hobbies, I’m very interested in good films, music and visiting museums and art galleries. I’m very outgoing and cheerful; I don’t like being alone for long periods of time, so I want to make friends as soon as I can!

Now that I’ve arrived at Vancouver I can say it’s a wonderful city! I was a little scared at the beginning, but Canadians are incredible kind with foreigners and there are cool shops and interesting places everywhere, especially in Downtown. One very curious place is the Steam Clock (as you can see in the photo).

Now I’m concentrated on improving my English and having a lot of experiences so please, don’t hesitate to add me on Facebook or ask me anything you want.

Hope to see you soon!

Clara.

INTERNeX Canada: Picture of the week!

left to right: Rie, Ilse, Sandra, Dylan, Daniel

This photo was taken during our pub night at the Railway Club! To me, it represents the start of something new…like new friendships, new people, and new places. And before that night, I have never been to the Railway Club before but I really thought it was special. It had a different feel to it than most pubs I know…it felt more personal. So I guess, it was a new experience as well. But I am so happy I got to know and welcome more new members to our group 🙂

Cheers,

Flora
