How was your weekend?

Once again, the weekend was just flying by and we are back to our daily routine. And personally, I am looking back at a crazy weekend.
I’ve got a very special visitor from Germany here at the moment, so we spent the weekend with all the stuff you “need to see” around here. And for once, I actually get to be a tourist here in Vancouver one more time. IMG_5701.JPG
On Saturday our lovely Sophie invited us to a very special occasion, she finally turned 19! Therefore once again, Happy Birthday from the whole INTERNeX family!
On Saturday, the INTERNeX crew went to play Lasertag. One of the events I have been waiting for, for a while now.
And to be frank, I only had one mission: Beating the Swedish self named “Lastertag-king”, just you know … because :D.
Anyways we got to play in an huge area over 3 floors and with new and overwhelming equipment. In three different games, we got to prove our fighting skills, by not only shooting with laser, but with using different special features as well. Turned out, no shield could have saved me. And if there would be any important Lasertag-war ever, you should probably not let me fight in it. Except if you are trying to loose, or challenge yourself :D. So you might figure, that I failed my very personal challenge to beat Bertil. 508c336f-fa65-4c9b-ac5e-0f16373806fa.JPGAnd not only that, I think I came last in pretty much every game. And yes I was very disappointed about myself, please be kind and don’t rub it in my face, even if I do deserve it .. at least a bit!
However, we had a fantastic time and I wouldn’t have thought that this would be sooo exhausting. I actually had to change my clothes afterwards, as all of this hiding, hunting and running around was worth a weeks work-out :D. On the way home, we took a nice  long sightseeing trip in the bus towards the opposite side of downtown. Now you might wonder, why would she do that? Well, I do have two explanations… either the bus driver randomly went the wrong direction or someone (maybe me) decided to take the wrong bus… I think the answer is obvious .. it was option 1 :P.
Thank you guys so much for joining, it was great seeing you all again.
Anyways, I am currently taking my time to recover from this active and adventurous weekend and hopefully see you all on Wednesday at Steamworks, 7pm. Till then, go out and enjoy the beautiful snow <3.
See you soon
Cheers,

What to do on the Weekend?

Thanks for asking ;).
As the snow and the freezing weather has finally reached Vancouver, you might just think about cuddling up on the couch with a hot chocolate in your hand a overly dramatic romance on Netflix accompanying you. But there is way too much happening this weekend, so I guess you’ll have to ditch Netflix for now.
82140236_10157844476222103_1811123683645718528_n.jpg
Starting off with the battle of the year happening this very Sunday. And yes once again, I might take it way too serious, but I simply love winning, so don’t expect any mercy from my sides, when you see yourself going down on the battlefield of lasers!
Therefore, I am honestly looking forward to the Lasertag event this Sunday.
But besides that, there are some other great things to keep you busy in this very cold winter days.
North Vancouver just opened a new giant Ice-rink, just 5 minutes walk from Lonsdale-Quay. It’s outside, it’s covered and it’s for free. You want to be outside and enjoy the B.C.-Winter – then here you go ;-).
Another world famous thing is the Capilano Suspension Bridge, and currently they still got the beautiful lights up. So besides getting to see one the most well know bridges, you also feel like you are in a fairy wonderland, far away from any problems and sorrows! You might want to check out the ticket prices, before you decide how badly you need to escape from reality, but one thing is for sure – it is definitely worth it! If you are more the tuff and sporty kind of person, you might want to get yourself a ticket to the UBC Tunderbirds Women’s Hockey Game on Saturday. And these ladies will show you how it’s done!
To escape the cold, grey weather a good hour or two of laughing also helps you to get over the winder blues. As the House of Comedy is presenting Derek Gaines this weekend, get yourself a ticket and work out those stomach-muscles! Derek Gaines is well known for is sarcastic and (obviously) funny perspective of a African American living in the Suburbs.
As you might have noticed, there are many celebrations going on at the moment, to be specific the Chinese New Years is just around the corner. And in celebration of the year of the rat, the CNY Vancouver Carnival is happening on Saturday and Sunday from 11am-7pm. Taking place at the Aberdeen Square you get to see some outstanding cultural performances as well as authentic food to fill your belly. Besides that, the admission is free, therefore you’ve got nothing to loose here :D. If you are looking for a wild night out, the Vancouver Glow Party is happening tonight at the Republic. Described as an event with high energetic music, back lighting, laser lights and a combination of perfect balanced sound systems mixed with spectacular light shows, this seems like the place to spent your night in.
Have a fantastic weekend and don’t let the winter blues catch you!
Cheers,

What to do on the Weekend?

Oh sweet Friday – so glad you are honouring us with your presence.
And let me tell you guys, we have a wonderful weekend ahead of us.
It almost seems too good to be true, but no rain predicted for the entire weekend, so go out and catch as much sun as possible.
There will truly be something for each and everyone of us to be found to keep us busy.
hockey game.jpgStarting off with one of my personal highlights coming up on this very weekend. Sunday we are gonna watch the hockey game Canucks vs. Oilers! So to the lucky fellows, that managed to seal the deal on tickets with us – we’ll meet for pre-drinks and from there we’ll go to the Rogers Arena and surely see a fantastic game! I honestly cannot wait. Hope you are sharing my excitement, otherwise I’ll be overloading you with it on the day itself.
But obviously the weekend not only includes the Sunday, but more days to go crazy.
For the very sweet ones of us, I am very happy to announce a very spectacular event starting today. Candytown is opening it’s doors again! The heritage district of  Yaletown will be turned into a winter wonderland. Lights and Candy as far as you can see. This delicious event starts on Saturday, November 30 from 12pm to 7pm.
Another thing North America is very much known for are the fascinating Santa Claus Parades. Two of them will take place in Vancouver this very weekend.
Sunday, December 1, you will be able catch a look at the Santas right here in Downtown, starting at 12pm. At 5pm the second parade starts at the Cloverdale Town Centre in Surrey.
If you are looking for a bit more romance, you might want to go to Stanley park, since Bright Nights just started a week ago.
During the entire holiday season, the Bright Nights Christmas Train and the Stanley Park Train Plaza will sparkle with three million twinkling light.
Doesn’t that just sound too cheesy (in a very good way) to be true?!
Christmas and romantic cheesiness just belong together, so consider it by making plans! 😉

So far so good,
I hope you are having a fantastic weekend!

Cheers,

What to do on the Weekend

TGIF! I cannot believe it’s already weekend again. The weeks are passing by so quickly, or is it just me?
Anyways, we do have one of my personal highlights lined up this weekend. This Saturday it will officially be okay to get ready for Christmas! Therefore we’ll visit the Vancouver Christmas Market this Saturday! To be frank, I haven’t been there before, but I am a huge fan of Christmas an of course Christmas markets .. so I am one-hundred-percent  ready for this. As long as I get some Christmas-music and a hot Gluhwein, I’ll be the happiest person anyways! Plus since, we will only meet at 4pm, this is a very hangover friendly time. So no excuses accepted!Christmasmarketinstared.png
If you already know, that you’ll be joining this fantastic event, please feel free to click on ‘going’ on Facebook, since I would like to know who will show up at the meeting point, so we won’t depart without you! If you are not ready for a big commitment like this, there is also an ‘Interested’ button ;-).

If you just can’t get enough of Christmas, Vancouver won’t let you down on this, for example just next to Vancouver Christmas Market you also find the Vancouver largest indoor Christmas festival, or you may want to drive up to the Capilano Suspension Bridge to see the beautiful lights up there. If you are more of a listening person, you may be interested in the Charlie Brown Christmas Live on Stage Concert, this Sunday in Vogue Theatre on Granville Street.
In case you want to see something different for a change, the Cirque du Soleil Luzia is still in town, which is supposed to be an amazing experience to make. Tickets are about $55 and still available!
I am very happy to see you all tomorrow.
Have a fantastic weekend.
Cheers,

What to do on the Weekend

As this weekend the weather might not be as nice as in the past weekends, you might want to consider doing some indoor activities for once.
Olympia.jpg
On Sunday it’s time to go out with the INTERNeX crew once again! And this week, we’ll visit a place, representing one of the most outstanding events in Canada in the last years. The Olympic games in 2010.
Especially here in British Columbia people are very proud of hosting this special occasion and since we are living here it might be very interesting to gather some knowledge about it. Or do you already know who Miga, Quaschi and Sumi are?! No? Let me help you out here. Those are the three mascots of the 2010 games, everyone representing a special animal living in BC and therefore giving attention to those very special species.
And just besides those general facts, I am pretty sure most of you haven’t taken part in any olympic games so far, no offence! So this is the best part about this weekends event! The Olympic Experience provides simulators of different sports, where you can actually try out how it feels to do Ski-jumping or even bobsleigh races and many more! Make sure to get your ticket before the time. The Link for the tickets is to be found in the regarding Facebook event. If you don’t have Facebook, feel free to reach out to us!
Obviously there will be enough stuff to do on the rest of the weekend as well!
If you want to be very spontaneous you might still join Justin Timberlake concert today at the Rogers Arena. Tickets are still on sale and available for about $50.
For those of you, who already want to start their Christmas Shopping, might want to take a look at the Christmas Craft Fair happening on Saturday, November 16. Taking place at the South Arm Community Centre in Richmond. Especially since the INTERNeX Christmas Party is coming up, including a secret Santa, this might be a good shot to get your present sorted out already.
I hope you are having a great weekend and see you on Sunday!
Cheers,

What to do on the Weekend?

As the second week of November comes to an end, we are facing another long weekend. This means we are getting some more time to explore Vancouver at it’s fullest!

As we’ve been lucky with the weather so far, we have to use any chance we get to go out and explore, before the rainy and cold days are starting any time soon.

LynnCanyon.jpg

And therefore we are gonna go on a nice hike this Saturday.
The Lynn Canyon Park is one of the most beautiful places to be around Vancouver. And the best part: the suspension bridge is for free ;-). We’ll meet up in downtown and make our way up there together. Just to make sure we won’t leave without you, let us know if you’ll be joining (just one click on “going” on Facebook and you are sorted). This might be your last chance to actually go out before winter is finally here.
This is going to be great, so don’t miss out!

If you are still looking for something to do on Sunday, there will be the Bear Creek Park Light Festival hosted in the same named Park in Surrey. Furthermore there is the Riley Park Farmers Market happening at the Nat Bailey Stadium on Ontario Street this weekend. If you want to do, what the locals do, this might be a good shot.

And as I mentioned before, Monday is Remembrance Day. This is a very important and big day here in Canada. For this very special occasion you’ll find many ceremonies and parades in every part of Vancouver and beyond.  If you missed, what and why is happening on Remembrance Day, just check two blogposts below.

With all this great activities, I am sure you’ll have an amazing weekend and a good start in the upcoming week.
And the good thing: Pub-Night Wednesday is never far away!

I hope to see you on Saturday.
Have a fantastic weekend!

Over and out,

What to do on the weekend?

Almost weekend!! There are lots of events this weekend in Vancouver!

First of all, some of us will go to the Vancouver Riptides to watch their first Frisbee game of the year, so it will be very busy.

There are also some other events this weekend. For example, tomorrow it is Earth Day. To celebrate this day there will be a number of events around town. Screen Shot 2017-04-21 at 11.28.57 AM.pngThe two biggest ones are the Party for the Planet in Surrey and the Earth Day Parade in Vancouver. Party for the Planet is a family friendly event at the Surrey City Hall. It features environmental information booths, activities for children and lots of live entertainment. Around the second half of the afternoon there will be live music for older folks. The Earth Day Parade will start at 1 PM at the corner of Commercial Drive and Grandview Highway, after that it will go north and finishes at Grandview Park, where a small festival will take place until 5 PM.

On Sunday the Vancouver Sun Run will take place and starts at 9 AM. This is the largest 10 km race of Canada and also one of the most beautiful. It will start at the corner of Georgia and Burrard and it goes to Stanley Park, English Bay, Burrard Street Bridge, Cambie Bridge and to BC Place Stadium. The views include the mountains, ocean, beaches, skyscrapers and bridges.

I hope to see all of you this weekend!
