INTERNeX Canada: How was your weekend?

This weekend was a very busy one for the INTERNeX PR Team! Katie and myself were given the great opportunity to go on a Fam Trip with Discover Canada Tours. The trip included a day in Whistler followed by one night of camping in Lytton.

In Whistler we visited the Squamish & Lil’wat Cultural Centre to learn more about the two different Native heritages and how they have come together over the years. I definitely received a whole new insight into these two cultures and for those who are interested I would certainly recommend it! The afternoon followed with the peak 2 peak gondola rides to the top of Whistler Mountain and then across to Blackcomb Mountain. The views were incredible and we really felt as if we were on top of the world as the mountains stretched further than the eye could see. I even saw my first little black bear from one of the gondola’s!

Then it was time to make our way over to Lytton. A beautiful desert town about 3 hours from Whistler with some very scenic routes on the way. After camp was set  up at the HYAK camping grounds we received  a delicious BBQ dinner and eventually proceeded to the warm campfire where we ended our night quite early in order to prepare us for the exciting rafting adventure in the morning.

Sunday morning was an unforgettable one. As Katie and I got all strapped up for the white water rafting on the Thompson River we had no idea what to expect. The water is currently at its highest level it has ever been and we were told the water and the rapids were extremely wild right now. It was incredibly fun and safe to say we made it out alive with big smiles on our faces 🙂 Pictures will be on our Flickr Page shortly.

To round-off an amazing trip we spent the afternoon at Hell’s Gate; the narrowest part of the Fraser River where the water is traveling at its fastest speed and the rapids are deadly.

It was a beautiful weekend, and for anyone else who is interested in taking part in Discover Canada Tours’ Rafting Trip to Lytton I would highly recommend it! For more information please visit their website.

Thank you so much to Discover Canada Tours for this amazing opportunity.

Cheers,

Lies & Katie

INTERNeX White Water Rafting Trip — Review

Hi Party People,

What an amazing weekend!! Thanks everyone for making this weekend into a great success!

Saturday our awesome rafting trip started! Our bus was waiting for us at Seymour and Cordova and everyone was ready for take off!

On our way to Chilliwack we stopped in a little town to get some snacks and (a lot of) drinks for the campfire that night. We arrived in Chilliwack around 5PM and all our camping gear was waiting for us!

After setting up our tents, close to a big camp fire place, dinner was ready. There was a buffet with good food, we enjoyed the food while sitting outside in the sun. After dinner someone discovered a beach volleyball court, which we of course had to try out!

Beach volleyball made us thirsty, so it was time to crack some beers and start a campfire! We all gathered around the campfire and a group of other people joined us. Mads showed us his amazing guitar skills and we all sung! We spend the whole night drinking, singing, playing guitar, looking at the stars and sharing crazy stories.
The next morning we woke up at 8 in the morning for a great breakfast with pancakes, eggs and sausages. After a safety talk, which made everybody scared as hell, it was finally time to go Rafting!!! They brought us to the river in old retro school busses and we went on the river with 5 boats with in total about 50 people. There were lots of crazy rapids and the surrounding was stunning! After rafting for about an hour we stopped and dragged our boats on shore. We hiked up to an amazing waterfall and walked through the waterfall, it was breath taking!  When we got back in our boats and on the river the rapids kept getting bigger and faster, a lot of people fell out of the boat and had to be dragged back in. At some points it was pretty scary but is was so much fun! Three hours later we got back to camp, but it was not over yet! For the real Die Hards there was the possibility to go back on the river again and experience the biggest rapids.  Of course almost all the INTERNeX candidates were up for that.  We went back on the river, it was insane! The river was super wild, awesome!

When we came back to camp everyone was exhausted and hungry. But luckily there was a great lunch waiting for us. We enjoyed our lunched and chilled in the sun until the bus came to bring is back to Vancouver.

As promised we will gather all the pictures and put them on Flickr.  Besides Lee will make a slideshow from the best pictures, we will let you know when everything is ready. If you have cool pictures, please let us know by emailing to pr@internexcanada.com or come by the office with a usb stick:)

I hope you guys had just as much fun as we did! Thanks for joining us, see you all on the next trip!

(P.S good luck with working today, If you feel the same as we do it is going to be a though day;))

Cheers,

Mads & Elke
