INTERNeX Canada: What to do on the weekend!

Middle of August and we have to make the most of the summer and Vancouver !

If you don’t know what to do during the weekend here I give you some ideas.

Big Bus Route Map

On Saturday, we  go to the Big Bus Tour around Vancouver (Remember that the 3 winners of the “Best Rockies Trip picture” win a 2 day pass for free).

This hop-on, hop-off bus offers you the opportunity to go all over the wonderful and most important places in Vancouver and the best part of it is that you can hop on, hop off as often as you want to take pictures, to enjoy the views or just simply to drink a coffee.

Meeting point:  Gastown Big Bus Welcome. Stop #1  (On Water Street just 20 steps from the Steam Clock )

When:  Saturday 17th August, at 1.30 p.m.

Price: Student pass for 1 day: $37. Student pass for 2 days: $42

For those who prefer a frenetic journey, I have another idea, but this one crazier. The annual Zombie Walk is here. This walk has going for years, and each one is getting bigger and bigger.

Please, do not vandalize anything and obey the police. That’s very important !

If you want to survive to the Zombie Walk, check it out this map, which will tell you where to go to get the supplies necessary to battle the brain eating zombies.

Survival Map Downtown

Date: August 17, 2013 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. (assemble around 3 p.m.)

Where: Starts at the Vancouver Art Gallery and the walking dead then proceed to roam the streets of downtown. The zombie infestation travels up Robson towards Denman Street. It continues to English Bay and ends at the laughing men statues.

Best,

Mercedes

INTERNeX Canada: Flora says “it’s time for us to part, my friends!”

I can’t believe my internship here at INTERNeX has come to an end! Wednesday is really an odd day to end, isn’t it?

To be honest with you,  I was a complete nervous wreck when I first started way back in January. Everything was so overwhelming and every single task terrified me. As soon as I heard that I  might be the only PR intern working, I was seriously worried…had I made the right choice? But of course, the answer was yes. I don’t think I’ll ever regret this…especially because I was able to meet so many wonderful people. To everyone (including those who have already left Vancouver), although it might have been a short time, I had so much fun and thanks for being AWESOME.

I’ll always remember our hilarious pub nights, trips on the weekends, the beautiful and fun Rockies trip, and of course that amazing pub and club night last Friday. I want to let you all know that you have impacted my life in so many ways. To all the staff in the office, thank you for being so encouraging and supportive. It’s actually weird that I have to leave…I was just getting so comfortable here!

What’s next for me, you ask? Well, it’s back to being a student for the moment. Yep, that means textbooks and exams (no more pub nights for me on weekdays…no tequila shots). And after that, who knows! But I’ll still be around in Vancouver so we can hangout!

I want to leave with a quote (you might have read it on my desk frame), “Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened” -Dr. Seuss. What an incredible, amazing, lovely, humbling, fun, and most of all, learning, experience. I’ll miss everyone and not being the one in charge haha but hey, it’s my turn to sit back.

note* I think out of all my blog posts, this was the hardest to write. I just didn’t know where to begin.

See you around,

Flora

Picture of the week!

This week Angelica, one our INTERNeX candidates, sent me a picture of her great experience. She is working in Whistler. Last week it was raining like crazy there and all the fine snow was melting away but she made this picture when the sky was blue and the snow was wonderful. She hasn’t been skiing a lot but she has the whole winter for that 😉

Do you have a picture of yourself on top of the Rockies, in Stanley Park or another picture of your great experience here in Canada? Send it to pr@internexcanada.com with a small description, and maybe your picture will be the picture of the week next time.
